We were looking for a boba place which apparently is not there anymore . We got a little hungry the area looked nice so we got off and went in ordered to go but ate there . Hibachi chicken with mushrooms , broccoli and zucchini (don't like onions so I put those on the side . Kids bowl was chicken and broccoli the fried rice does not have eggs which is great for my children who are allergic . Crab Rangoon's were not great so I would skip they are thin and not much crab inside. The service was fast . The food was good and the price was reasonable the portions I believe matched the price . Was some good food, the portion size was a little small but all in all it tasted great. There was a lot of vegetables, as well as meat didn't skimp on anything. It was good but not like over whelming. The service and place was decent. It is a strip mall take out place so it was very clean compared to other places. Again nothing was over the top but certainly was not sub par either. This was a very average eatery I would recommend and go again. Was by myself for lunch today, and wanting something quick and healthy, I thought I'd give this place a try, and it totally fit the bill. First reaction walking in. Clean! Spotless from the dining room to the kitchen (which you can easily see), to the bathroom. Impressive. I didn't look too closely at the menu up on the wall, just asked for chicken & shrimp hibachi. (there is a less expensive smaller bowl option available). They also have steak & scallops. I can tell you that the price on the wall INCLUDES tax, and I don't believe they charged me extra for my tea either. It was under eleven bucks, and considering it was my main meal of the day, I didn't think that was bad at all, especially considering the... Quality! Both the chicken and shrimp were perfectly cooked, moist and delicious. Very lightly seasoned, but comfortably flavorful. The vegetables (broccoli, zucchini, onions...also cooked perfectly) I do have to remember to ask for no mushrooms next time, but fortunately for this fungus-squeamish gal there were only a few small easy-to-avoid pieces. They also bring a nice white sauce (come on, we all know white sauce is mostly mayo, but when they call it white sauce we can pretend it's not as caloric...hah! works for me!) that I kicked up with a packet of hot sauce. I do believe they have ginger sauce if you request it as well, as I think I overheard. Please note that my pic does not do this justice, especially the quantity. Went to Tenko Japan after finding it on Yelp after wanting to see what other sushi places were out there. I didn't look at any of the pictures on Yelp before I went, but I did notice that there sanitation grade was a 99. Upon waking in the door you will notice that is the size of a typical takeout establishment. There were a few customers dining inside the restaurant, but most of these people coming in the door were for takeout. The Hibachi shrimp and steak had a nice flavor. The fried rice appeared to be white rice with soy sauce 3rd in it instead of the typical fried rice with egg and maybe a meat. The Steak & Shrimp on grill together, and then the vegetables were grilled together. It was good, but I thought the portion size was on the small side. The sushi was good, and it was at a decent price. You're supposed to get 6 pieces with each order. I did get 4 pieces, and one large piece that should have been cut in half. But if you cut it in half they were all been the same size, and six pieces. Overall I would say it's a decent restaurant for takeout, not a nice dine in restaurants for a nice night out, but you can eat in if you want to. I would visit again as the food was good. I'd eaten here before and thought it was okay. Yesterday, I craved Japanese Hibachi and went again. Mistake. I paid for extra white sauce and, still, they only put 1 sauce in my bag which I didn't see until I was home. Also, it was, no doubt, THE WORST white sauce I've ever had. Tasted like like acidic gross mayonnaise. The food was mostly rice, very little vegetables and meat. I don't actually mind getting a small portion of meat as I don't eat big portions of that, but I'd like a nice healthy portion of vegetables. Would NOT return. read more

Food is very good . The reason why I leave it a 4/5 is because this is something I could definitely make myself based on the price range but I continue to come here if I don't feel like cooking and I know I'll get good quality food. Ok, I managed to find an awesome hibachi spot five minutes from my house. How lucky am I?! I saw Tenko last Sunday when I was at menchie's next door. Immediately I looked them up on here & read good things. I bookmarked them on the spot. After a very poor hibachi dinner last Friday night (from another local eatery), I was determined to find "the one." I decided tonight I would try Tenko Japan. I was so happy when I saw they had online ordering & how easy it was. I ordered steak & shrimp hibachi & a yummi roll. After receiving the almost immediate email confirmation, I hopped in my car & made the five minute drive. As soon as I walked in, I gave the employee my phone number, signed the receipt & received my bag of deliciousness. I got home & opened the bag, presentation was top notch. I began eating & was "mmm-ing" in no time. The steak was tender, shrimp were big & delicious, the onions, zucchini & broccoli were all fresh. The yummi roll was really good, as well. And the prices are so reasonable! Portions are huge. And I got six sushi rolls for less than five dollars! My bill came to $14.33. I was so pleased. Parking isn't too bad of an issue. The staff is not always friendly here and that is not good thing to me. The hibachi is amazing. The rice actually tastes like it was cooked on the grill and has a few crunchy pieces from the grill that make my heart happy. Steak, shrimp, scallops, rice all freshly prepared. The food here is cheap and quick. Always loves the different types of food they offer. Their bowls are affordable and tasty. My mom loves the Yummy Chicken and Tenko Chicken are good. About the only things japanese here is in the name Tenko Japan. Really let down on what I had, the yakisoba was really lackluster and not prepared in the traditional manner. Noodles were overcooked and bland, not too mention the unseasoned chicken that was part of it as well. The sushi was a step above store bought sushi... edible but nothing special. Decent, but not exactly what I'm looking for. Tenko is pretty good. I got a chicken and steak dish that came with some sauteed zucchini, broccoli, and onions. Onions were a little bit spicy from being less cooked than preferred, but overall the veggies were good. MISSING was the sweet carrots that many of us are looking for and love. The rice was interesting. It was a different grain than I'm used to for cheap japanese food. It almost has too much starch and is a pearl type rice - I wasn't in love with it. Shrimp Sauce/White Sauce/Yum Yum Sauce came with the meal, which is necessary, and it was pretty tasty. The chicken was cooked perfectly - not rubbery and dry like you often find in fast food japanese. My complaints: rice was not what I love, no carrots, and the incredible amount of waste. If you eat there or take-out, you are served in plastic to-go containers. You're at least not tossing a lid in the trash if you eat there, but it's this sort of throw-away culture that I frown upon. Overall the food was good and I'll likely return, unless I can find a place that has different rice and carrots included with the meal. read more

I've been searching Raleigh for a decent hibachi spot for months and decided to give this place a try, as this city is seriously lacking quality hibachi restaurants. I will say this place seems clean and the service was pretty fast and friendly. However, the menu options were pretty limited. I ordered the hibachi chicken dinner and the fried potstickers appetizer. Visually, the meal looked pretty decent. The taste was another story: my chicken was extremely bland, overcooked, and dry. The rice was a very poor attempt at fried rice, had a strange texture, and was also extremely bland. I had to drench my food in white sauce for it to even taste like anything, then they had the nerve to charge me $0.35 for ginger sauce (or any additional sauce). My veggies were probably the most redeeming thing on the plate, although they weren't plentiful at all and were also bland. The potstickers weren't bad I guess. Overall, it was a poor experience. I hate spending money on food that I can't even eat. I won't be returning. read more
