Delicious meal here! Very clean, very friendly staff and very fast service. In a very busy strip of stores in WF, parking a bit of a hassle, but definitely worth stopping in. We ordered hibachi scallops and shrimp and hibachi steak and shrimp, spring rolls, and miso soup. And, a garden salad with the yummy ginger dressing. The yum yum sauce here is delicious, too! Come here pretty regularly and send many people here as well. Still give it 3 stars for Food. However, I want to give it zero stars for my most recent trip. Sign says they close at 9. Not 8:30 or 8:45. We arrived at 8:40, after working all day, just wanted to grab a quick bite of good food and go home after eating. I started to order, then the girl at the counter made sure to tell me "We close at 9. You're going to get this to-go?" I said "no, were eating here, it's not 9 yet. But you can put it in a to go box." Our food was ready around 8:50ish. Food was good, no disappointment there. At 9:00 we were asked to leave, "they were going home". Never in my life have I been asked to leave a restaurant because they were closing when I'm eating my food. Do I get that they close at 9, yeah. But as an example we were at Backfins once before (next door) and they close at 10, and they told us "don't worry, enjoy your food, no rush". Now that's customer service and how you handle business. Not asking people to leave. We would have been done eating in 5-10 minutes. I'm sure they still had to clean the kitchen, etc. Also to note, while we were there the little girl at the front told 2 other customers who came in sometime between 8:45-9pm they were closing and turned them away. SUGGESTION- if your sign says 9, customers assume you mean 9. So if really want to "close" the doors before then, change your business hours! read more

It is an insult to Japanese food to call what they serve Japanese. My beef hibachi box was dry pieces of steak, not cooked in soy sauce or any think like that, with orange sauce that tastes like ranch & coleslaw mixed together and a few shredded onions. There was loads of rice, the dirty fatty type that you find a a cheap all you can eat Chinese restaurant. Nothing about it was Japanese it was like eating dirty American food with dirty Chinese food. Full of MSG, that dirty oily taste all over your mouth from one spoonful. Feel disgusting after eating that. Service was friendly and fast. Ordering was done at the counter and the man at the grill started cooking it up. they give a lot of rice as a filler but I was expecting more meat and veggies. This is a fast food, order at the counter, pick up at the counter type place. Also good for take out. While I do like that the veggies are fresh, I felt it a bit skimpy on the tiny shrimp and mini scallops served in the hibachi style order. Two huge portions of bland rice with no veggies in them at all. Would prefer less rice filler and more hibachi. I liked the ginger sauce but the yum yum sauce was a bit too sweet. To start with COVID procedures they are not doing dine in only to go. You can't even really walk in the building, they have a station set up as soon as you enter with a plexiglass window for safety where you order/pick up food. I got the chicken hibachi, heavy on the onions and maybe 4 or 5 small pieces or broccoli for the veg and it came around $8-9 after tax. Decent hibachi, it'll hit the spot if you're having that hibachi craving :) also they have pretty good ginger sauce so you def should give that a try read more

We were excited to see that they were opening a hibachi restaurant in this location as it is close to home; and, we now have another food option in our area! It's a great location, too, as they're close to all of the nearby shopping. When you walk into the restaurant, it is very clean. This is likely because it's all still new; however, the seating area and kitchen were very well maintained. Soon after we walked in, we were greeted and had our orders taken. We both decided on the hibachi chicken, making our total about $15 (we asked for cups of water). They must have the food prepped by order in a refrigerator for quick transfer to the grill. It was actually nice to be able to see how fresh the ingredients looked - even the chicken! While we waited for our food, they had a consistent line of guests coming through. They handled the lines well and served up the orders in no time. Next to the register, they have a small sushi bar with salads and desserts on display, as well. There aren't many options for sushi; but, they do seem to have some of the more common rolls available. Maybe this is because they're still new and want to see what people want/ask for. I personally think it's smart to start small and with what you know you make well. You can always branch off or add more options later! There is also a small bar that has their homemade sauces and condiments (Yum Yum sauce, ginger sauce, soy sauce, etc.). They have a sign with their suggestions on which sauce works best with the meal you've ordered. I'd say about 10-15 minutes after we ordered, our food was ready. The hibachi chicken came with broccoli, onions, zucchini, mushrooms, and rice. We also added some of their homemade Yum Yum sauce. I am SO happy to say that it was really, really tasty! Everything was flavorful and tasted fresh. We are definitely glad to have this place close to home when we're having our occasional craving for hibachi! :) read more

Well to start off no sweet and sour sauce, but would say yes when placing our order. One of our group order a Soda* steak* looked like ramen noodles with over cooked steak em meat from the foam cups you buy at the store. I was so happy to find out that Wake Forest was getting a quick service hibachi restaurant! The food was delicious and fresh and they easily accommodated me when I asked for no onions in my hibachi chicken. Other hibachi places have made it a headache for me when I asked for an ingredient to be left out. The portions were large but the food tasted fresh, so it didn't feel quite so heavy on my stomach which I appreciated. The ginger sauce was great and tasted freshly made. The inside of the restaurant was very clean. The menu was not visibly posted, so you had to look once you got to the front of the line, but there seemed to be a spot where they intend to put a menu but just haven't gotten it up yet, so hopefully that's coming soon. I've been visiting here since they opened in wake forest and out of all of the other hibachi places surrounding, this one has been my favorite. I love hibachi from Kanki and this is the only place that has tasted the most similar to Kanki hibachi. Staff is always super friendly and they do get pretty busy during lunch and dinner (as expected), but I will say they are super quick in my opinion. This place is also super clean and newer than the other surrounding hibachi places as well. It is a little bit of a hassle to park because of how busy the shopping center is and the way the parking lot is build. Other than that, don't waste your time with the other hibachi places because I don't anymore. This place is the best hibachi place in the local area. read more

First time here, got the shrimp & scallop hibachi. Rice was dry, barely any veggies, and received only 5 tiny pieces of scallop and 7 shrimp. Food had no flavor, had to season it myself . Waste of $10+. Boyfriend ordered the chicken hibachi and was dive within 5 minutes, portion was similar to kids meal. I would give this place zero stars if I could, but 1 star service sounds about right for this restaurant. This restaurant is the one located at 1009 Stadium Dr. in Suite 112 in Wake Forest, NC. I went into this restaurant a few weeks ago after placing an order by phone. A male took my order and told me that it would be ready in 15 minutes. He didn't take my name or phone number so I asked him if he needed those 2 things. He then said yes. I left my information with him. When I showed up 15 minutes later, the heavyset female cashier asked me what I was ordering. I told her that I called my order in ahead of time. She asked for my name and then she proceeded to look through the paper orders that she had. She then asked for my phone number & after I told her, she just shook her head as if she were saying no. I told her that a male took my order by phone. She shook her head again. Apparently, he hadn't even taken the order, or the sloppy kitchen people didn't make it. Either way, there was NO APOLOGY or OFFER TO FIX THE PROBLEM! So I left. This was a complete waste of my gas, time, and lunch break. Not only do they have POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE & COMMUNICATION SKILLS but the establishment looks as if it's about to cave in at anytime! The dining area furniture, floors, bathroom doors, ceiling, and just about everything you look at there is severely Dated and appears to be a filthy health hazard! I'm surprised the health department hasn't already investigated them. It was probably in my best interest not to eat there anyway. Never will I visit that place again, and I'm telling all of my family, friends, and co-workers about my horrible experience there, as well! read more

I recently ate here and had an awful experience with my food and with the owner and his customer service. I order the the chicken and shrimp hibachi to go and when I go home and settle in to eat my food. I discovered a small spider in my rice. I immediately call the restaurant back and left a message, which was never returned. I ended up having to call back again the next evening and asked for the manager who was adamant that it couldn't possibly have come from the food and kept trying to give rude excuses. I told him I had a picture of it and would be happy to send it to him and felt that since I didn't eat my meal and was dissatisfied and disgusted I simply wanted a refund for my purchase. He stated he doesn't do refunds and I could bring the food back and get another meal. I explained I was turned off by the restaurant now and did not want to eat there again given the situation and also was passing through and lived over an hour away. I had my receipt I could send him and was trying to address the matter with him the appropriate way without having to leave a negative review. He said he didn't care. He asked me to put the food in a cooler and bring it back, that was the only way I was going to get a refund. I told him this was ridiculous, and I didn't live in Wake Forest. I will never eat at this establishment if I am back in this area again, and his lack of professionalism and customer service will not doubt reflect on his business down the line. My advice to customers is to check your food thoroughly. I am the type of person that have to look at what I eat bite by bite, thank goodness, I was able to spot the mystery protein in my meal. My thing is I get that in rice anything that small can crawl in a bag and get cooked up, but for someone to be so rude and disrespectful to a customer is uncalled for and just bad business practices. read more
