Please please please eat at your own risk if you choose to eat at the Sake House in Bluffton. I ordered Doordash from them today, and received my order. Sushi and vegetables. I began to eat my sushi and vegetables only to see a BUG in my FOOD. At first I thought maybe it was just pepper and then I noticed it had LEGS. When I called Sake House and told them, they laughed at me and told me they would have a manager call me back. Totally brushed me off! Took my family here for lunch to try a little something different. Upon walking in the hostess didn't ask what side we wanted just walked us to the regular side instead of the hibachi side. The floor is super sticky I thought my foot was going to come out of my shoes a couple of times. The food was okay it wasn't bad but it wasn't great the chef was super awesome probably the best part of the whole meal and of course they give balloons to little kids so it made my sons day. No one ask if we needed refills on drinks or if we needed anything else, the check came we paid and left needless to say I don't think will be returning. read more

My husband and I came here for lunch and we truly enjoyed our experience. The host asked us if we wanted to sit at a booth or sit at the tables where they cook in front of you and we decided a booth. We were seated quickly and our waitress was very nice. We ordered the Ocean Heart Roll and we loved it! We also ordered the emperor dinner for two and it was delicious! It was the hibachi special for two that comes with steak, shrimp and chicken. The clear soup and salad came out quickly and so did our roll. The hibachi special was a large portion of rice and veggies. They did give us a fair amount of steak and chicken but the shrimp was a smaller portion then we were anticipating. We were not able to finish our food so we boxed it all up. The waitress gave us two shrimp sauces without asking to go with our leftovers. The inside is nice. They have a fountain in the middle with fish. One side has booths and the other side is where you can experience a chef cooking in front of you. Entry is a little strangle due to the awkward waiting area that staff are unable to see. Service is decent they greet you and smile but are a bit slow. Staff was friendly, accommodating, and patience with my family. Went here for lunch... was very disappointed in the quality of the food as well as the portions. One of us ordered steak and it was very chewy. The vegetables were also very badly cooked (how do you mess up stir fry)? One of us ordered the 16.00 lunch shrimp and scallops and received 4 shrimp and 2 scallops! When we brought his up with our waitress she told us that this was standard. Overall, we were very disappointed, (and it's not like we had high expectations going into it). Worst experience I've ever had at this location. Not only did we have to chase down a server to take our order after about 10 minutes of patiently waiting and watching other tables get their orders taken. We also had to chase down a server to pay for our food once we'd finished. We were given attitude by a very rude younger girl with dark hair appearing to be a host. If I wasn't a server myself I would've never had an issue with my experience this evening but there was never an attempt to right the long wait or horrible service we had experienced just excuses as to why it had happened. It's been around for a while and starting to show some age, but dinner last night was very good. I still have a problem with the fact that every time for over 6-7 years their salad is always watery. We love Sake House. Their assortment of sushi rolls and sashimi options are both excellent. They offer a number of more unique sushi roll combinations and we especially like the Golden Tokyo and Angel Rolls. The vegetable gyoza, miso soup and katsudan are also lovely. I've been here a few times now for their half priced sushi (monday thru thurseday all day). The prices are more than reasonable and they don't just add a ton of rice to the roll to fill you up. The quality isn't as good as other sushi places, but it's quality is more than sufficent for it's price. The staff can be a little akward at times but I think that's more due to either a culture or language barrier. When I've gone there it's not fast service. So don't go there looking to rush in and out. If you go when you have the time to chat with the person your dining with, it's more enjoyable. Over all this is my go to spot for sushi. We were seated for hibachi at dinner tonight. We ordered a bottle of their most expensive Blackstone Merlot ($32 menu price, $7.49 at Total Wine)...no problem, I expect a restaurant to triple or quadruple their cost to earn a profit. What I do have a problem with is the waitress bringing me an uncorked bottle of wine that is missing 3 inches of wine. When I asked for an unopened bottle of wine she claimed that she had just opened it saying, "trust me, I just opened it , that's how it is supposed to look." I told her she had not just opened it and suddenly a manager appeared with an unopened bottle and proceeded to butcher the cork, but at least we had a full untainted bottle. Hibachi chicken was way overcooked and the wait service was further mediocre aside from the blatant lie about the bottle of wine. Ambiance was typical for this place...incredibly loud. Generous $15 tip on $150. I made a note on the receipt that she ruined her own tip by lying. read more

Hubs had chicken and filet teriyaki which he said was very good. Huge portion. Best filet he's had in a hibachi meal he said. Went there for the first time last night as a guest at a birthday party, so my first impressions were favorable. Our party all ordered hibachi meals, so the younger ones of course were impressed with the chef's pyrotechnics and food tossing. I've seen much better, but really, I was there for the food, not the act. He could have been a bit more engaging, but I think he may not have had a lot of confidence in his English language skills. Not a big deal. The hostess/waitress on the other hand was timely and attentive, not a busybody. My hibachi shrimp (about a dozen count) was served with generous amounts of fried rice and veggies. They also served a nice sweet creamy white sauce as a condiment along with a ginger concoction. I really didn't care for the ginger stuff...not enough ginger! A little disappointing seeing as I love ginger. I sampled my wife's hibachi chicken as well, and thought that both dishes were very good. For dessert I made the mistake of ordering the fried Oreos. They looked great, but they were nothing to write home about. I wanted to give them a 4, but couldn't pull the trigger. We'll return here soon to check out their lunch menu. Maybe some sushi? Let's see if they can impress me a little bit more next time. read more
