Another great lunch at Fancy Sushi. Sushi so fresh Owner very nice Lunchtime Specials

    Chicken Yaki Udon

Theres not many places that I even consider giving full stars, but this one absolutely blew me away. I'm somewhat new to the area, and it's been a surprising struggle to find good Japanese fair, and decent, well-priced sushi. Too many places give ya tiny slivers of fish for exorbitant prices. Not here. Fancy Sushi's sushi is priced exactly as it should be, and it's absolutely top notch quality. I forgot to take a picture of the Sushi & Sashimi Deluxe I got bc I tried it and simply couldn't stop eating! The mackerel sushi was insaaaanely good. Couldn't have asked for better. Great texture too, which most places around here just... I dunno, maybe they're not all trained sushi chefs that know how to slice it properly. But here, whew, was fantastic. I also had the Chicken Yaki Udon, and it was wild just how much chicken and veg was in it. The portion was huge, and I swear, it probably had two chicken breasts of meat in it. It was superb. Cooked perfectly, and had a nice bite to it even when I made the 20 min journey home. I couldn't have chosen a better dish to try my first time here. I highly highly recommend the Yaki Udon. Wow. Lastly, the waitress working the tables and the register up front kinda knocked me back with her kind personality and care. She remembered my name from my order slip when she came back from the kitchens with my food, and made sure I knew to hold the bags upright bc of the delicious soup that was included (totally a banger too, for how unassuming it looked!), amongst other personable things I haven't noticed around here much. I'm just sooo pumped to have found a great Sushi/Japanese place that's not super overpriced, like soooo many are, being HHI-adjacent. Again, I highly highly recommend if you've had great sushi and great yaki udon and are looking for a local place that excels with both. There seriously isn't much that could be improved on. It was all such a smooth process and top notch food. Oh! Also, I was given a free sushi roll as well in my bag! It was sincerely unexpected, and it had a little note written on it saying "Thanks!" Also, it was quite delicious. 9.2/10

This a salmon roll. Note the huge piece of salmon. Didn't even go through the whole piece of sushi.

Some of the worst sushi I've had. That sliver of fish didn't even go through the roll and all the pieces in that roll were the same. Would not return.

Our favorite sushi in both Bluffton and the island. There are definately a couple others that are excellent - but this isn't their review. Fancy Sushi has amazing food, and super fresh. But what sets it apart is that there is nothing fancy about Fansy Sushi. It's the ownership. I'm a big fan of the unassuming or "little guy". These kind of places are my favorites, and certainly where I prefer to give my money and support. Check them out. You will not be disappointed.

    Special spicy trio roll

First time here and we dined in for dinner. The waitress was very nice and provided excellent service. The restaurant was clean and the seating was comfortable. Now the sushi was delicious and the prices per roll was right! We started with the miso soup which you can tell by the way it taste was fresh. The special spicy trio roll was delicious with the sauce they used on top. The regular rolls we ordered- spicy tuna, spicy salmon, boston and eel cucumber were good as well. Highly recommend this place!

Wonderful sushi. Very busy Saturday night, but they were able to get me in just 15 minutes. I ordered a lot of sushi and a couple of rolls. They had uni on special too. Just delicious, will be back.

This place should be call "PARADISE". Excellent service and friendly staff. Don't judge me, I had a little bit of everything, I was full but i wanted to try more dishes . I had the Eddie's special (total thumbs up), Alaska roll, miso soup, Crazy roll and Scorpion Roll. Reasonable prices in case you were wondering. I will be glad to stop by next time I'm in Bluffton. Crazy roll (top of the picture) Scorpion (bottom)

My husband and I were looking for some sushi to get and we decided to go here. We sat at the sushi bar and everything for the most part was good and tasted fresh. We got 3 appetizers, 2 sushi rolls a salad and one entree for under $55. I got the rock & roll and crunchy roll 10/10 My husband got the fried gyazos & spring rolls with a house salad 9.5/10 And for the entree my husband got the chicken katsu and he said it was okay 5/10 he said the rice tasted "musty" Only bad thing was we saw a bug either a water bug or a roach run across the bar while eating... but seems as though SC has a bug issue but other than that it was yummy food and a clean environment

There's a roach in my food

Very "small" rolls. Couldn't find the fish! Sushi has more rice and the fish on top is barely going over the rice. Won't see me again.

Hi Everyone, Ya,…read moreknow, maybe you don't feel like bagging your lunch today, or making diner tonight, but you've got to eat! What ever will you do? What type of food do you want to eat, now or later? Questions, questions, those nagging questions. Well we here, in the peanut gallery, may have a solution for you today. If you enjoy eating Sushi (Japanese cuisine, in which raw or cooked fish can be inserted into or be placed a top a rice roll with other ingredients). Now I thought that Sushi was ONLY raw fish (which I know you knew, but I didn't, lol), and Sushmi which I thought was actually only cooked fish inserted in, or a top a rice roll, with other ingredients, such as seaweed, cream cheese, imitation crab (I.e. pressed white fish) etc... But, bust my buttons, Sushmi is actually Hindu female name, not a name for Asian cusine, which means welcoming or pleasant, (which I know you knew, but I didn't, lol), but I digress, along with some other Chinese classics then we can highly recommend you visit AKOMEYA right here in Bluffton, SC. Why? Because my friends, their food entrees are actually very savory and delicious treats. Their ambiance is inviting, neat, and clean. Their Servers are friendly, personable, and helpful. Their prices are affordable, that's right, as in, most of us can actually afford to pay for them. For instance, they offer four lunch (ONLY) Chinese meals that are relatively healthy as prepared with a delicate balanced of ingredients that are tastebuds delight. And yes, Jethro, them there "viddles" will fill your belly and keep you a comin back for more helpins! But for how much? $10.00 per entree. Now that them their is an affordable price for lunch, even for Jethro da Bodeen. Their diner menu offers many delightful and tasty tantalizing entrees as well which we have also have enjoyed multiple times. So if you have a hankerin for some good viddles like our man Jethro, it's time to get on down to AKOMEYA and git sum. BTW, Akomeya is also a specialty rice shop with locations at many major train stations in Tokyo. Although rice is their main focus, they also offer an impressive selection of kitchen goods, condiments, and snacks--making it a must-visit for cooking enthusiasts or anyone in search of thoughtful, Japan-made gifts (which I know you knew, but I didn't ). Enjoy!

We walked in and the was ONE table of five in the whole place. Should have been our first sign…read more The service was the WORST I've ever had! The server asked once if we needed drinks. Never asked again. Then I asked for a glass of water and she didn't say a word. Just turned around and got it. Brought it back and just sat it down and walked away. We ordered two sushi rolls and she didn't bring utensils to eat it with. I had to find them for us. Then my wife wanted a little bowl for soy sauce. I had to go find it because our server was no where to be found. She had an attitude about anything we asked for. I'm not joking when I say it was the worst service I've ever had. Needless to say the tip wasn't what it should have been or could have been. Now the food? Awesome! I had the hot sand sour soup (one of the best I've ever had), we had two different sushi rolls. One was the Akomeyea roll and the other was some tuna roll I didn't eat. The chicken low mien was very good and plenty of it. I gave it 3 stars because the food was very good. If we ever decide to get dinner here again it would definitely be to go. No way would I eat in the restaurant again with service like that and as empty as the place was. I get why it was like that if all the service is like that.

I was genuinely excited when Sakyura opened. It's always great to have another restaurant nearby,…read moreand during our first few visits, the food seemed promising. My husband especially enjoys the sushi--it's fresh, nicely presented, and has been consistently good. The gyoza is also decent: crispy on the outside, flavorful on the inside. And the noodle dish I've had several times is good. That said, our more recent visits have been disappointing overall. I ordered the pho tonight, and while it had a ton of noodles, the broth was almost completely lacking in flavor and there was barely enough of it to call it soup. Pho should be rich and aromatic, and this just didn't hit the mark. Took a few bites and called it. I've also had issues with the chicken in other dishes--it has a very odd, almost rubbery texture that makes it hard to enjoy. We've tried the bento boxes too, and while they look appealing, the meat isn't cooked in the sauce--it's just spooned on top, which leaves the dish feeling disjointed and almost like a microwave dinner feel. Service is another area where the experience falls short. Even when the restaurant isn't busy, the staff tends to be distracted and not very attentive. They're not unfriendly, just not especially engaged or warm, which affects the overall atmosphere. There are definitely some highlights on the menu, and I still think this place has potential if they can improve the consistency and refine the service. For now, Sakyura is a hit-or-miss experience--but we're still hoping it turns into the neighborhood gem we were excited about in the beginning.
