The food was good, our waiter was extremely nice, however, my friend got a refill of her soda and when it was brought back there was an entire frog in the soda. The waiter apologized and attempted to get the owner to comp the meal or at least my friends meal, however, the owner spent the remainder of the time accusing my friend of putting the frog in the drink and was yelling across the restaurant, telling us there's no way they put the frog there. Now THIS is some legit sushi! Finally found a place in the Beaufort/ Bluffton area that has real authentic high quality sushi. This place is family run and they are very nice and welcoming. They have a quaint sushi bar and just a few tables exactly the way a good sushi place should be! Wasabi has all the good stuff; sweet shrimp, otoro, ikura, quail egg, uni, you name it! If you're looking for uni check their facebook to see if they have it as they only get it shipped in when they can get high quality japanese uni instead of the usual mid grade California uni you find at most places if you can even find it. I normally only get nigiri, sashimi, and traditional rolls, but even the "Special Rolls" (American style) is absolutely fantastic. Im really looking forward to trying the rest of the traditional Japanese menu next time! I live in Beaufort 35 minutes away from this restaurant and have to pass multiple sushi restaurants to get there and now that I know how good Wasabi is I will happily make that drive! Was in town for a work trip during the non tourist season. The service was very kind and I got sat next to the cutest family where a little girl was celebrating her bday. The staff made it so fun for her. Atmosphere: great date spot for if you want to be casual or you feel like dressing up. Food: I loved the dishes I received. I got the Sex and the City roll: LARGE AND BEAUTIFUL. It had so much flavor and it was big and filling. Monday's are usually spent going out for wings. With a low "wing kings" attendance, my buddy recommended Wasabi when I told him I'd rather have sushi. I hadn't heard of too many good sushi places in the area. This was exceptional. It appears to be a family run business located in the Publix Buckwalter strip mall area next to NY Pizza. The prices and offering were reasonable. They have lunch and dinner Bento boxes and combos. I was only in the mood for sushi. I didn't see any sushi/sashimi combos other than the "Boat". For beverages they offer beer, wine, hot and cold sake and soft drinks. I don't think they have other hard liquor. I ordered the Seafood Dynamite and Rock & Roll sushi. It was delicious and plentiful.I probably should have only ordered 1 roll and not 2. The service was good, but a bit slow. Probably because of the complexity of the rolls. March 26, 2023 We walked in @ 8:50 pm after driving 30 minutes to get to the restaurant. Their website, Google & Yelp all said the restaurant closed at 10:00 or 10:30. Their door said they closed at 10:00PM. The waiter came over took our drink order, then came back with our drinks and let us know that last seating was at 9:30. Again, it was 8:50 when we arrived and were seated. We decided to make our order a To Go order to be courteous. The calamari was good but would have been fabulous if it was hot. (we had to drive back 30 min to our hotel. My edamame was terrible. It had no seasoning on it whatsoever. The rice had a terrible smoky flavor, the beef was very good. Delicious sushi! Stopped here for a late dinner while on vacation in the area. I'd recommend getting takeout as they're short staffed at the moment, so even if you dine in, they don't have waiters, and you'll just get your food in takeout boxes. I'd probably call ahead in the future, or just expect to wait a bit if you order there. They have an expansive menu, interesting flavor combinations, generous portions, and pack everything neatly. We got: 1. Tempura - Tasty and well fried. Comes with sauce, and a decent variety between shrimp, sweet potato, squash, and onions. 2. Agedashi Tofu - I'd skip this one for takeout. The tofu is a bit too heavily breaded, and there's not enough sauce in proportion to how much tofu there is. Also if you keep any leftovers, the breading gets soggy fast 3. Rock and Roll - AMAZING! Shrimp tempura and crab salad based roll that comes with thai chili sauce. Because it was boxed, the pictures really don't do it justice, but this was my favorite roll. 4. Wasabi Sashimi - Fish was fresh, and it comes with soup or salad. 5. Eel Avocado Roll - Pretty good standard roll 6. Make Combo A - Also pretty good standard set of rolls. If you want a lot of sushi rolls, this combo is pretty generous in proportion. Check them out for a great takeout sushi option! read more

If you want a good experience, order take out. This restaurant uses young teenagers as servers and they are not trained. It's unfortunate because the food is good but their service is horrible. This little place just opened next door to Subway in the Publix strip mall and we thought it was excellent! We went at 3 on a Saturday afternoon. The waitress Yumi was very nice and attentive. My wife ordered the honey ginger tea which she liked a lot and I even saw Yumi chopping the fresh ginger to put in the tea. I tried an order of unagi (eel) nigiri sushi and it was perfect, fresh with just the right amount of sauce. We had the jalapeño bomb for an appetizer and again, very fresh, excellent presentation, lots a flavor but not spicey per se. My wife had the chicken katsu lunch box and I had the filet mignon hibachi lunch, again, both excellent. They're just getting started, so be patient because they're still trying to staff up. The decor is really nice (especially when compared to Hong Kong Cafe next door bless their hearts, take out only for that place), the phrase intimate Asian bistro comes to mind.
