I recently visited the Saint Laurent San Francisco location to purchase a purse I had been eyeing as a special anniversary/bday gift. I requested that it be wrapped like a present and was told by the associate that she would bring me a new item from the back not the display model I had tried on. I trusted her and completed the purchase, excited to open it on my anniversary/birthday while traveling. To my disappointment, when I unwrapped it on my birthday while on vacation, I discovered that they had sold me the display piece--without telling me. The protective film on the logo was missing, and there were small scratches on the hardware. At this price point, and for a luxury brand like Saint Laurent, I expected transparency and care. Instead, I felt misled. I returned to the SF store to resolve the issue. Rather than acknowledging the mistake, the associate Angie told me the purse had a stain and could not be returned and that I needed to come back in a few days until the sales associate who sold me the purse comes back from her vacation. She told me that I needed to be there so that the associate could indeed confirm that she sold me the purse in that condition; making their problems mine now . Why should I come back for all the drama? Once I left and inspected the "stain" in natural light, I wiped it with an alcohol pad and it was just a fingerprint. Something the staff could have easily checked before refusing to help further. I left feeling frustrated and dismissed. Thankfully, the Santa Clara Saint Laurent store handled the situation with professionalism and warmth. They processed my return with no hesitation, and invited me to shop with them in the future. Worked with Debbie and Kevin when securing gifts for my upcoming wedding and they were both phenomenal to work with. I had originally tried putting the order in online, but they cap you at 2-3 per item unless you select different colors...so decided that I would have to go in to the store to see if they could help! I had to order 7 of one particular item and Debbie made it super easy to put in my purchase - she even wrapped each item individually and had them shipped in a one stop shop! It was seriously such great service and Debbie has been fantastic is getting some of the colors/exchanges done as well. I have been to the Saint Laurent in SF about 5-6 times this year and each time, I've been met with great service and exceptionally kind people. Everyone is unpretentious and very helpful! Just order it online! An employee continued to follow my friend and I so closely like we could have been holding hands. My friend was looking at bags and the moment she wanted to put it down on the counter and take another look the lady would snatch it out of her hands so fast....just tell us you know don't want to be here. Then I'm looking around at the clothes and she's literally one step behind me at all times and whispers extremely close to my ear, making me so uncomfortable that I'm looking at the men's clothing. If you are ever going to shop at YSL, go to San Francisco and ask for Kevin. He is so considerate, passionate, and kind! I had an issue with a bag I bought in Hawaii due to some creasing. Kevin assisted me so effortlessly and even checked their shipping if anything came in. He then switched my bag with grace. NEVER go to San Jose, the manager Alex refused to switched my bag and insisted that "we didn't see eye to eye" with the creasing so he couldn't do an exchange. I felt like he was judging me that I was not worthy of his service. I thought he was just like this as a person. It appeared I wasn't up to her standards for a potential customer and as I inquired about a bag, she scoffed at me and turned away. The customer service is excellent and all the SAs are super friendly, willing to show you anything you are interested in and not pushy even if you are just browsing that day. Probably the best service I've ever experienced. Now I know people are gonna go "well it's expensive, they have to have good service." WRONG!! Most high end luxury boutiques you enter, treats you like you're not even human. About a week before purchasing, I called and requested for the monogram woc in light rose. Price picked up and told it was unavailable but he could order it and hold it for me. And damn right he kept his promise. He's so sweet. My husband is the PICKIEST person ever and when I tell you he has everything, I am not exaggerating. This was the last store I visited after hitting up pretty much every store in the square. I went into the store today to try to find an item I saw online. I've been wanting to buy this for quite some time now, so I was excited to finally have time to go to the store to check it out in person. 1. I walked in and wasn't even greeted. The sales associates weren't busy, preoccupied, or even with a customer. They just looked at me and kept going on with their conversation. 2. I was standing there shopping for a while and no one even approached me. I obviously looked like I had questions. But still, ZERO acknowledgment. 3. I went up to the short Asian lady at the front who I found extremely rude. I simply showed her a photo of what I was looking for. She responded quickly and COLD - without even thought, "That's old. We don't have it." She didn't offer any other similar bags, find a substitute, or care to help me in any way. Way to represent such a high end brand name with that bad attitude. 4. I saw and overheard a nice gentleman, Antonio, helping a couple in the back. I was absolutely shocked by his professional demeanor and kind customer service, so I knew I wanted him to assist me and earn my commission. He was genuinely sweet and caring. I told him I didn't like the lady at the front, and he was more than willing to help me with my request. I showed him the picture of the handbag I wanted, and he swiftly went to the back room to GRAB THE "OLD STYLE" they apparently "DIDN'T CARRY" anymore. I was completely shocked - the Asian lady at the front didn't even bother to check if they had it in stock. I wish I reported it to the manager of what terrible service she displayed. But Antonio was the best - although he was busy with other customers, he still made the effort to try to attend to me. If you're looking to buy at this location of YSL, look for Antonio Velez. He is superb and will deliver the best service, even if you don't buy that day. The short Asian lady clearly judged me because I was young, wasn't "dressed up" or didn't looked like a buyer. She is the type that would judge you when you walk in and assume if you're a buyer or not - or maybe she just didn't care. She's clearly just hungry for commission and not equal with her customer service to all. I honestly hope the manager reads this review and reevaluates the employees who represents this luxury brand and the customer service that should follow with it. Upon arrival, myself and a friend are walking up to the store with a family of three in front of us. The doorman opens the door, and the family is let in, and then the doorman looks at us and firmly closes and locks the door without a word. He then stands and watches us from the other side, still not saying anything. He pops open the door a few times to yell at some dude on the street, I assume his friend? But still doesn't say anything to us. Eventually he opens the door again and says, "We're closed today." It's about 4:15, store closes at 5, and we can clearly see people inside. They had just let people in right in front of us. We ask if they can just look at a bag we brought to see if it can be fixed from some damage it had incurred. Doorman keeps insisting the store is closed today, and we point out it's very much open and we just want to see if we can send the bag for repairs. Eventually the doorman finds a worker and another man, a bit nicer at first, says we can come inside, but in a couple more minutes. Not sure why we had to wait on the street, it wasn't at capacity inside, because they let us right in without anyone else leaving first. So, finally, we're led to a counter where we pull out the purse and show the damage, and basically the guy assisting us (a short dark hair guy?) says, as happily as ever, patronizingly, that the damage is not something they can send to be fixed, and that it's simple wear and tear. They then proceeded to try and compare our bag to the very well-worn out floor model, which was honestly laughable. I get that it may not be something they can fix, but to try and persuade someone like that with a very-well worn shelf item was just embarrassing and tactless salesmanship. It's not like we just walked in either, we called ahead and explained the damage over the phone before coming to the store. They said to bring it in to be examined. So to be treated like that, as an actual customer, really felt disrespectful and rude. I'm reconsidering my affinity for this brand. Definitely not coming back to this location, it was tacky and dull inside and I felt like I was at an outlet store. We had a way better experience and excellent customer service at the T-Mobile just a block away. read more

Great experience with the sales folks at YSL. I called the day before to make sure what I was looking for was in stock before I drove from Sacramento to take a look. The sales manager took my info and held the items for me just in case. Even though I did not end up buying both items I had originally wanted to, they were VERY nice and VERY accommodating. Their credit card machine was down, and so we did have to wait quite a while for them to process our payment, but they gave us delicious champagne while we waited and were super friendly to our pup Rutledge (he was allowed to roam the store as well) as well. OK so I never do this but ...The Employees at the Union Square location totally profiled me. I walked in looking for this or last seasons look book, which I normally get delivered to my house. I asked the woman at the front desk immediately after walking in if they had A current look book and immediately an Asian lady said no. I was surprise another woman went to the back and actually found one for me to look at. The same woman that told me that they didn't have the look book also told me that since I'm not a big spender they wouldn't send me anything. I just completely ignored her and started to look around starting off with shoes I immediately noticed that I was being watched and followed from a distance. I was very uncomfortable with someone just standing over me the whole time. This was definitely not a good experience being that this is a very high-end brand. I was actually looking for a specific jacket but I didn't feel that anyone of them deserved any commission for me. after totally profiling me following me around and giving me a very poor customer service. No! I felt as if I wasn't wanted it in the store. Like me being in the store was a problem. I probably would never Go into that store again. Especially if this is how they treat their customers. I got the Christmas present as a belt and it is a bit too big so I called and asked if I could get another hole punched and I don't mind paying for the service.
