Wow! They have really upped their game... I don't know if there are new owners or if they are the same owners from before from when they first opened, but the soup is extremely flavorful and the people there are really nice. Saigon Xpress has been a reliable place to pop in for a good bowl of Pho. I haven't tried too many other menu items, but we have never been disappointed. The atmosphere is seriously bare bones, but it is an okay place to dine casually (certainly not for a date night). I imagine that most of their business is take-away. read more

If I can give this restaurant 0 stars I will! I was ordering to pick up and this guy suddenly tell me that to hurry up because they were so busy and shout at me!and start talking in Vietnamese! The Spring Rolls/Egg Rolls didn't come with the fun side veggies. Which is most of the point for me. The service sucked. She checked on us...once. We had to wait over ten minutes for a check, and only got it when we went up and asked for it. I ate maybe two bites of my beef stir-fried rice noodle dish...which was super bland, lacking the typical layers of delicate flavors in vitnamese food. To sum up? YUCK. read more

This place gets a solid and definite 2, 2.5. 2.75 maybe 3 stars from me. As I was pulling into the parking lot I was craving a Banh Mi, but I knew I wasn't going to order one here. Last time I was here they told me their sandwiches are Americanized and if I like traditional, I wouldn't enjoy theirs as much. I appreciate the honesty. I ordered the Combination Pho. My dish arrived I realized I hadn't washed my hands--don't tell my mom--I made my way to the bathroom and saw that nearly every table had Pho bowls (I'm guessing) and almost all of them were picked clean. Good omen! The broth was good. It didn't quite match the bowl I had in Hoi An with the toothless fisher woman who kept putting chili spices in my 27 cent bowl of pho (sigh, my best pho ever) but it was good enough to finish. My only complaint was that I didn't find the tendon that it was supposed to have. I added lime, sirracha, and a bit of hoisin; not for lack of flavor, but out of habit. The bean sprouts were little tubes of fresh and crunchy water. I ate it all. I tried to finish all the broth, but I woulda busted a gut. So, what is "authentic" and how is it different from "traditional"? If a Vietnamese person makes pho (or any other dish) they way they were taught in the homeland, isn't it authentic, even if it isn't good? Even if it is slightly different from the same dish down the street? Just askin'. read more

We love this place! Sometimes a craving hits for their combination noodle bowl, and you have no choice but to give in. It's so good and it's consistently good. A couple of times I've deviated from the noodle bowl and ventured out into other menu choices, which have also been delicious, but I always come back to the Combo noodle bowl. Yum! read more

We make a habit of coming here often, often twice a month in the winter when we really need a bowl of something hot, filling, and satisfying. The pork egg rolls are always hot and super crisp. The noodle bowls, with their grilled meats have never failed to please us, and the traditional rice dishes always please my son. The Vietnamese iced coffee is to die for, and the coconut juices are always clear and cold and with all the coconut meat we can eat. The egg noodle soup is rich with chicken broth, lovely egg noodles, plenty of fresh vegetables, and amazing seasonings. The pho broth is always savory, but the bean sprouts are often not exactly the freshest, the tendon's kind of unevenly cooked, but the steak and meatballs are always good. Occasionally the noodles will arrive in a clump. I'll admit that I'm very happy with it anyway, instead of going down to Broomfield and the Pacific Ocean Plaza pho shops when I live right here in Longmont. The wait staff is always attentive and friendly and fast. There's only about a dozen tables, so not for large groups. read more

Went in for Pho and my wife ordered a chef special - garlic and black pepper jumbo shrimp. The Pho was above average but not the best I have ever had. But that was some of the best shrimp we have ever tasted. And we are from so cal so we have had some good shrimp. There was only one server and he got four parties at once so service was slow. Not much for atmosphere, but the food here is tasty, reliable and quick -- and they deliver !! All the dishes we've tried are pretty basic, good Vietnamese food --- not much originality, but no bad surprises. Our typical order includes pork spring rolls (with all the "extra greens"), vietnamese egg rolls, combination noodle bowl, and rare beef pho. All pretty good! read more

I bought three dishes tonight, and all were good (and quick; I got takeout). - egg roll combination bowl - love the eggrolls, came with thin rice noodles over shredded lettice and sweet spicy sauce, I only tried the pork (see below) but my family said the beef, chicken, and shrimp were all good also - egg roll bowl w/pork - came with thin rice noodles over shredded lettuce, nice sweet sauce provided, the pork was flavorful and tender, not overcooked - rice noodles with shrimp - these were the nice wide flat rice noodles like you get for pad thai. shrimp was flavorful, though a bit sparse Recommended! Ok, talk about a rare find! I end up in Longmont a lot of times for work and always have a hard time finding a good lunch spot...until now. Don't be thrown off, although it's a small restaurant, it manages to pack a big punch for your taste buds and even friendlier service. I had the tofu egg noodles and all I have to say is YUMMMMMM. Good food weird service. I don't think they like dealing with women. My server refused to talk to me. He listened, but said absolutely not a single word to me. He rushed our service, and didn't even offer drinks. It was just weird. I've been a regular for years, but they're not equipped for takeout. Ordered, paid cash w generous tip. Waited an hour... after going in twice they finally made it. We were told it was under new management, so we gave it multiple shots to get back to the excellent quality they always have been...but it just never happened. When my daughter comes by, we always order Saigon Xpress take out for fun! This happens about once a month. Traditional Rice Plate + Spring Rolls. I have had the Pho and it is pretty good and filling But the Traditional Rice Plates, Fish Sauce, Shiracha to your taste is fantastic. The Spring Rolls dipped in the fish sauce are an added blessing. Coming from garden grove California I don't expect much when I try any sort of Asian food out here. With that said, I can say it came to a delightful surprise to find this place. Everything about it tasted very authentic. We got a large flank steak pho bowl, an order of spring rolls and a small order of pork Vietnamese eggrolls we also got a Thai ice tea with Boba. Ok, so let me get this out of the way before everything else. My wife and I have been ordering take out from Saigon Express about once a week for the last 6 months or so. Food wise it's pretty good, nothing exceptional but hits the spot when I'm wanting some Lemon Grass Tofu within 10 mins of my house. I would never say the workers were every really friendly, but historically speaking they were mostly more of a "let's get this order rung up and out the door, no chit chat needed". Which was usually fine with us, until tonight. Why the one star, because really the customer service at this restaurant is abysmal beyond belief. I ordered my usual weekly order tonight, the same thing I always order every week for the last handful of months. I usually speak with one of the women that run the front of the restaurant but tonight I spoke with a man. I gave him the weekly order (again same as it always is ... which is an all vegetarian order.) He reads it back to me, in at best a somewhat passable English. I said "sounds right" and hung up the phone. We arrive, pick up our food, get home and half the order is totally screwed up with beef instead of tofu. Maybe not a big deal to some but I just spent $26 for a meal that no one in our house will eat. We call back, explain what happened with our order being wrong, ask them to remake the dish and we'll be on our way back up there to pick it up. The man simply says, "I repeated the order to you, you said it was right, we are not making another order". This goes on for about 2 minutes of back and forth before we told him we'd never come back to his restaurant again. So ... go there if you want, and again the foods is decently good (not great). But if you expect any level of service or a restaurant that puts their customers first, you should really look somewhere else b/c you will not find it here. Now if you'll excuse me I'm going to drive down to King Soopers to see if the guy that usually stands outside with his homeless sign would like 6 beef and shrimp spring rolls. read more

I only ever get the Chicken Pho. It is like crack to me. I've eaten Pho all over the Denver metro area and I still think this has the best broth hands down. Even with the ownership change. I think the broth was part of the deal 'cause I can't taste a difference (and that's a good thing.) They seem to be getting busier and busier as word of mouth spreads. Actually dined in this time. Got there during the noon rush and the place was slammed. We grabbed the only remaining table. The food still made it to us quickly, and the pho was boiling hot. We also had the Saigon spring rolls with beef at the cook's suggestion and were pleasantly surprised. The Pho was very good! Very aromatic broth. Adding the vegetables is a must. Not much sriracha needed, I just like sriracha! Wait staff was polite but overwhelmed being the only one running the entire front of the restaurant. His overall performance was lacking do to the workload. We come to Saigon Xpress regularly and have never been disappointed. I either or the Pho with rare steak or the chicken rice noodle bowl, plus spring rolls as an appetizer. The pho broth is very tasty and always served hot. The chicken in the noodle bowl has a good flavor and is cooked well. Saigon Xpress is one if the few places that serves the spring rolls without mint (which is great, since I'm not a fan of mint). Overall this place is excellent! read more

I've eaten pho pretty much once a week for the last....many years. Used to eat at Saigon Xpress fairly regularly. Had no idea until just now they'd gone through an ownership change, but explains a LOT, because tonight I had the worst bowl of pho I've had since moving to Colorado in 2005. Not only was it too salty, with stale clumpy noodles, it was extremely poor value. There was ONE miniscule jalapeno slice, around 1/16th of a lime wedge, and really...the order was about 1/2 the portion size of a medium despite the price, making it the worst value for money I've ever seen at a pho joint. I will never be going back....there are far too many decent pho houses between Denver, Boulder, and Longmont, to waste any more of my business on Saigon Xpress. read more

Best Phö in Longmont. I come here quite a bit, mostly on cold days when a hot bowl of phö really hits the spot. The food is always fresh and the service is always friendly. Like the egg rolls as well, no culture on the planet has perfected the egg roll like the Vietnamese, and no restaurant in Longmont has a better example. read more

Had lunch here for the 1st time yesterday upon a recommendation from a friend. The Restaurant was busy but not too noisy or packed. I had the Beef PHO. More than enough to fill me up and the taste was good. Great place for a small group of friends. Doesn't seem like it would accommodate large groups well. read more
