Large Pho Dac Biet with Spicy Broth

By far my favorite pho restaurant in Boulder. Might be a bold statement to make, but could easily be the best pho in Boulder. None of the other Vietnamese restaurants in Boulder hold a candle to Vina Pho IMO. Although very pricy (that's the only reason Im giving 4 stars instead of 5), the quality of the food as well as the portion sizes are amazing and I have never had a bad experience here. This place is ingrained as part of my college experience due to coming here so often after long days of studying and arduous exams. The amount of my hangovers cured in the booths here could not even be counted. The owners of the restaurant make their own chili oil (and sell it too if asked nicely!) and are very kind people. They are always very attentive and provide great service despite them having only two front of house employees most of the time. Orders are taken fast and the food arrives fast as well. The restaurant is modern and upscale while still being casual. It has a good amount of seating and can easily accommodate large parties. Like mentioned earlier, this place is amazing but is receiving a 4 star because a large bowl of pho is 20+ dollars. The restaurant could certainly cater to the predominant demographic of the area (broke college students) by lowering their prices a bit, but the increased cost here when compared to the other pho restaurants in boulder is certainly worth it for the increase in quality and taste. If you're craving pho definitely check this place out.

Decided to check this place out with my nephew since he says it is one of his favorite pho spots. This boy loves, lives, and breathes pho! Lol He was telling me about this place when I was visiting today, so I told him if he hasn't had dinner then let's go. The place is casual and clean. We were immediately greeted and sat down. The service was good and we didn't wait long for food. My nephew said that this is a new owner and that the place has been remodeled a bit and is nicer than before. I decided to try the tempura shrimp and a medium rare steak pho. I almost forgot to take pictures too! The tempura shrimp was absolutely delicious. Crispy and hot. Not oily, room temperature, or soggy. Our pho came out and the broth looked very hot and great consistency. I tasted the broth and the flavor is very good. Waaaay better than the other pho place I tried last week! We both finished our pho with a little bit of broth left. I would have to agree that my nephew does know his pho tastebuds! Lol I will definitely be coming back when I'm on this side of town.

Wanted Pho close to Canyon and 28th went to Vina. Very low key casual. Clearly does a good Door Dash business. Nothing out of the ordinary, but probably one of the top 5 Pho dishes I have had. Really flavorful, big portions - what you see is the medium size and we brought half home. Effectively 2 meals worth in each bowl. Definitely recommend if you are around there and want Pho.

This is hands down the best tasting pho in Boulder. The broth is immaculate, and the star of the show as it should be. I know prices have gone up because of what I assume to be inflation, but the flavor and quality of food is top notch. I also tried their chicken fried rice today, and I was blown away by how delicious and flavorful it is. It's light, all pieces of meat are cut to perfection so there's no weird pieces, it's light and fluffy, not oily or heavy. It's a full savory flavor which I appreciate in a fried rice. It's a smaller portion, but the quality is so good. (These are delivery photos- they include all components separate as most traditional pho restaurants do- some bigger spoons, chopsticks, and napkins) I also already put my meats and toppings in the broth container in the photo -but it comes without

Loved this place! My boyfriend and I are avid pho and vietnamese food lovers and this place was awesome. I got the veggie pho and the tofu spring rolls 9/10. I wish there were more vegetables and maybe the containers were wider instead of taller so it's easier to eat? but it tastes amazing. The tofu was also pretty good but the peanut sauce was AMAZING. My boyfriend got the raw steak pho, super good 9/10, he just wished there wasn't is much broth or maybe easier to eat. 100% would eat here again.

When we looked at the menu, we were very taken back by how expensive a regular bowl of pho was ($16-18 for a regular size). Not to mention, this was the first time we experienced a Pho restaurant not having any hanh dam so we were surprised. For context, my friends and I are used to the Vietnamese food scene in Houston so we're aware that we're pretty spoiled. This is the following list of items that were ordered: - Pho Dac Biet The soup game was unfortunately weak. It tasted pretty watered down and lacked flavor. Meat and noodles were fine though! - Goi Cuon (Shrimp and Pork) The Goi Cuon itself was decent but the sauce was... interesting. It was almost too sweet, my friend even mentioned that it had a slight hint of coconut which I was able to taste as well. I'm not sure if people in Boulder do Vietnamese food differently but the sauce was personally not for me. - Passion Fruit Green Tea w/Boba This was just okay. The boba and passion fruit seed was good. We were also able to taste the tea but it had an interesting aftertaste to it. I do appreciate the staff members and their hard work! Not to mention, most restaurants close so early in Colorado but this one is open until 11 PM on weekends!

The difficulties with are in my previous reviews. Now much of the facility has been torn down and the ongoing construction of the space to be city staff offices and the bigger space to be affordable housing had become impractical to use or eat at the restaurant. The noise was deafening. In January they moved to a food court on the Hill. This is a lower level of a building with other tenants. There are about 6 food kitchens and each time I have been here this summer and fall, this is the busiest at lunch. Since the seating is communal there is always space and it is clean. The staff here have been really nice. If I'm preparing a meal at home or supplementing leftovers, I have stopped by to get a fave vegetable, baby bok choy, steamed and seasoned and at an affordable side dish price. Today my husband and I walked down for lunch and ordered the Tuesday special street crepes some of the owners have continued from the long gone first owners from Beijing. As with other succeeding owners, they too have continued to use lettuce rather than the bok choy in the crepe. It also has some ham, scallions and crispy wonton bits and a nice spread of hoisin. It is topped with a sprinkle of black sesame seeds that I love. Another difference from the original is that the ingredients of the crepe itself are not well mixed together so many large patches of separate egg white and yolk makes it harder to hold together and not as pretty. But it tastes just fine but original years ago was addicting. I will continue to come here try more of the food from the current owner. I love beef noodles and have 2 other places I can get a good version but this is the most walkable for me. They do very nice prep for takeout which is good too. At lunch it is busy with CU affiliated students, staff and faculty alike. Every item I have had at Flower Pepper is hand made and prepared for the customer.
