I've been coming here for years. It's one of the better places in the area esp after they did some renovations a couple years ago. Some recommendations: House special fried rice (must have w/ siracha), XL Beef Pho., Grilled Pork, quiche, shredded pork served w/ white rice, Combination rice plate... Note: You can request a small complimentry bowl of soup to go with any rice dish that you order. (Many places will just serve it to you w/o having to ask but at this place you have to ask) It compliments any rice dish. They can get really busy during lunch - if it's a full house, expect to wait 25-30min before your food comes out. Also please expect that the party at your table will not be served their food all at the same time. (I dont think they are capable of handling a large volume and orders will come out as completed, one at a time.) I guess the good thing about this is at least your food is hot! As mentioned, do not waste time in your seat waiting for the check - you pay at the counter. Great place for decent food at a reasonable cost. Entrees ranging from $5-$10. read more

Saigon is my go to spot by Clark when I need some good chicken pho and great veggie curry. I came here when I visited Clark and still come every month or so. The food comes quickly, the staff is super friendly and it is very clean. They do great pots of tea as well, though I don't think they are complimentary anymore? But in all seriousness, why 4 stars and not 5 stars? I am not sure. I love every individual thing about Saigon as I have listed above. Did I mention they just completed some renovations and redid their menu, both of which look great? I will have to do some soul searching and maybe try more things on the menu. I guess the only thing I haven't mentioned is the price which comes in around 8-10 dollars for a plate which is good value for the quantity of food and comparable to neighborhood spots. read more

Authentic and Solid flavors here. The pho broth was a bit sweet for my taste and this is most likely a result of the amount of MSG but the aroma and flavors were good. I enjoyed the rice plate with pork chop, bi, and pork loaf as well. Overall an authentic experience and I'd definitely return. read more

Delish! The best Pho I have had anywhere, I literally drank the broth until the bowl was dry. Service was friendly and fast - they took a lot of time helping us make choices and indulged our fascination with their tea (fro Vietnam) and coffee. Wow. The best bun noodle bowl that I've had since I left Sacramento. What I used to love about the Sacramento ones that I haven't had since until today is a mix of toppings. This one had grilled pork, grilled beef, grilled shrimp, grilled pork roll, fried spring roll and a slice of fried fish cake. I am deliriously happy right now! This is what I have been dreaming of for 15 years now that I didn't think I could have without getting on a 10 hour flight. This is the best Pho I've found in Worcester so far. The decor is dismal but good in a "hidden gem/hole in the wall" sort of way. The staff is usually taking turns eating dinner at the back table and they're extremely pleasant, absolutely sweet. Every time we go in there, there's a different enormous Asian family taking up 4 tables in the middle of the restaurant. As a culinary tourist, I find this quite encouraging. The price is right, the food is great, and their meatballs are fantastic. Also, their drinks menu is extensive and yummy, and I'm not talking alcohol either. I'd strangle a baby for their coconut shake. If you have a chance, go to Saigon. There's only onstreet parking, but I've never had to park far, and as usual with Vietnamese, the price is just right. read more

Saigon is a good place to go for good, cheap Vietnamese food in Worcester. I'd say that the interior is slightly better than other Vietnamese restaurants in the area, perhaps due to the booth tables. Service is slow-- it seems that the workers are either spaced out or preoccupied with their family (I assume it is their family...perhaps the family owns and runs the restaurant together), who is always present at one of he tables near the door to the kitchen. There is an upside to this however, because there are the cutest little kid and baby in the family to look at. I usually get pho or bun because I am a student and these are the best things you can get for under $4. The marinated beef in the bun dish is really good. The portions aren't big, and my boyfriend often has a bowl of cereal when we get home after eating dinner here. read more

Saigon is, hands down, the best Vietnamese restaurant in Worcester. Forget comparing cost (although it is also one of the cheapest), it's just plain the best. "Steamed tiny vermicelli" dishes come with rice wraps and a slew of fresh veggies, letting you assemble just glorious little packets of awesome. The pho is, as others have stated, delicious (same fresh veggies really make the dish). The Vietnamese egg rolls are crispy, hot, and very dippable - the house fish sauce and peanut sauces are a delight. For a special treat, "house special fried rice" (not named as such on the menu, but they'll take the order) is a delicious mix of thin-sliced sausage, shrimp, shredded pork, and love. Top with fish sauce or sri racha sauce to experience things that make you go mmmmm. I have seen people walk away from Saigon disappointed - the easiest way to do this is to order something non-Vietnamese. Seriously, what were you thinking? Fried chicken? Just because they offer it doesn't mean it's going to be as good as the pure, authentic dishes that they've been cooking their entire lives. The atmosphere since a recent renovation is a bit hampered by a big screen TV usually scrolling news or a soccer game, but they generally keep it low, and conversation easily drowns it out. The decorations are lovely, and the place is impeccable. If you're visiting Clark, or Main South, try to get a stop in at Saigon. As long as you stick to what they're obviously good at, it is well worth the $10-$15 a meal will run you. read more

The atmosphere is rather quiet and the space is a little small but there's plenty of space for a medium size group of 3 or 4. After finding out our intended Vietnamese restaurant for the night was closed, we made a quick walk over to Saigon, who quickly seated us and served us tea on what was a very cold and windy evening. I have a soft spot for Vietnamese egg rolls and an order here is only $3, so I couldn't pass that up. Unfortunately there were only two and they weren't particularly good. Fortunately, the pho is pretty good, and a bowl of one of the standard options will only set you back about $5. Sure, there isn't much meat in it, but I'll remind you that this is less than a value meal at McDonalds. The broth flavor was pretty good and there are plenty of sauces available to jazz it up a bit. The plate of bean sprouts, basil, and limes that were served with the pho were also reasonably fresh. This is far from the best pho ever, but you can get a quick dinner for two for less than $15 and the food is pretty good. If you go to Clark or live near there, this should be a mainstay. read more

I am slightly addicted to the fried rice here, and I go here once a week. Absolute fav dish: House special fried rice with its Chinese sausage, shrimp, boneless spare ribs. I mix it with some Sriracha sauce and a lil' bit of Hoisin sauce. The Vietnamese food here is good. I've had like every fried rice combination, vermicelli, and pho here. Good, good, good food for under $10 a dish. However, I didn't like the vegetable fried rice at all--too soggy. I've been to Saigon so many times, it's kind of ridiculous. As a college student, I'm always appreciative of a hot meal at a cheap price, so my roommate and i frequented Saigon on many occasions last semester. I usually get the tofu fried rice, although I have also gotten the beef vermicelli, sesame chicken, and hot and sour soup before. All the food is decent. Nothing is spectacular, but nothing was terrible either. It's always under ten dollars, though, which is a definite plus. Sometimes, I'll spring for the egg rolls (also just OK), or the coconut shake (DELICIOUS), but all in all, I leave happy, full, and with hardly a dent in my wallet. Oh! One of my most favorite restaurant for 7 years. Foods are very reasonable but very authentic and fresh by real nice Vietnamese people. I also love they give everyone free pot of tea. It is very relaxing. Atmosphere is very clean with relaxing space for everyone. I eat pho in winter and vermicelli in summer, here. Grilled meat was also good. So I decide to celebrate a milestone with my wife and family, we decide to schlep to Worcester to try another town and place to eat. Neighborhood is right in Clark University town, a bit rough around the edges. But the restaurant is an oasis in this somewhat rough area. I order the Extra Large Beef Pho, Seafood fried rice, Seafood noodle soup, fried squid, fresh spring rolls, fried egg rolls and the beef terriyaki. These are the dishes that I always order at these places, they are the equivalent of a big mac, fries, coke and apple pie at Mickey D's. The appetizers were excellent overall except for the fried squid. That was pretty dismal. The beef terriyaki was very tasty, the fresh spring rolls were very fresh and the egg rolls were very good. The beef pho had excellent broth, but not much meat. The seafood pho I did not sample, but looked ok, again not too much meat in that one either. The fried rice looked excellent and the patron who ordered it, said it was excellent. The smoothies were pretty good, the tea was excellent and the food arrived in a timely fashion. The place was quiet, being mid afternoon. The decor was above average for this type of place and overall I was pretty satisfied with the food. The only problem with this place, is that there is not too many things to do in this town after your meal, so I just ended this trip with a two hour drive through central Mass for kicks... read more

well this place is ridiculously clean and cheap. for pho i strongly suggest you go here if your outside of the boston area. been to a couple places around worcester for pho but for some reason they have this weird persimmon taste. this place is pretty legit. get the extra large and your all set for a "snack" under 8 bucks. havent tried the other dishes yet but lets be serious! why would you not order pho? We found this listing when we were searching for food on our way from Boston to Vermont and we're really glad we stopped in. We all ordered the deluxe pho for lunch. They have 3 different portion sizes to choose from and all are very affordable. We paid about $9 for a large deluxe bowl which had tripe, beef steak, meatballs, brisket, and tendon. The soup was great and came with a nice helping of bean sprouts. It would have been nice to get more of the herbs but I understand they're probably not in season. The broth had a nice flavor and there's chili oil, sriracha, and hoisin sauce at the table to tune the flavor to your liking. We had good service from our waiter and the price was awesome.
