The Pad Thai was flavorful, the ingredients tasted fresh, and the staff were friendly and welcoming throughout our visit.

I was feening for some really good Pho and decided to stop by here. I ordered Bún bò Huế and Crispy Spring Rolls. The first dish that came out was a FAIL, but not for the reason you may expect. There was a big FLY on the dish. This grossed me out and we had to tell the waitress immediately. I know accidents do happen, but how does the cook and waitress miss a big fly before bringing it to our table. The waitress was apologetic and brought the dish back to the kitchen (they probably just refried it and remove the fly). The spring rolls came back out for take 2. I wasn't really a fan. It was crispy, which was good, but tasted like ham...and there wasn't any ham in there to my knowledge. My main course was the Bún bò Huế. The broth was tasty. It was bold and flavorful. The meat was unfortunately not tender and a bit chewy. I absolutely love Vietnamese food and eat it regularly, but unfortunately this spot did NOT HIT THE SPOT. I do have to say that the decorations of the restaurant are earthy, well positioned and the best thing I could say about this place. I would give it a 3, but insects of any sort on my dish will knock down by review by at least 1. -ODL Connect with me! IG & YouTube: @AOEAT read more

To make a point, I came yesterday and back today. Both times I had the Chicken Pho (Pho Ga) & boy do I have to say it was reviving. The service both times have been delightful. Had some hot tea on the side. The ambiance is pleasant and welcoming. Haven't been in over 5 years and I'm glad I came back! read more

Do not order on their website. It is down but they don't say that, they accept your order and payment, then they refuse to refund you and make you dispute the charge with bank instead (which can only happen AFTER the money comes out) I got takeout. The food was decent but the restaurant itself is not very clean. Sticky floors and tables and smell of urine/dirty mop. read more

The food came out fresh, flavorful, and well presented. I tried one of their recommended dishes and it definitely did not disappoint. The staff were friendly that made us feel welcome from the moment we walked in. The atmosphere was cozy too. I'd happily come back again. read more

I have been enjoying Vietnamese cuisine for 30 years now, it is so much better and healthier than greasy Chinese food, and I have tried many of the new startup places around Worcester county, but I always keep coming back to Pho Dakao on Park Ave in Worcester as it is the best of the best, the others don't even come close and if you haven't tried it you are missing out. The service is #1, the food is always top quality, the ambience is always great, no matter which variety I try, it is always much better than the competition, hands down, If you can finish the pho (soup) portions, you are a better eater than I am, I can never eat it all, but it tastes great the next day. prices still stay reasonable, try Pho Dakao, you will not regret it !!! read more

The beginning of my love for Vietnamese food!! Always great service and a good time. Pho is delicious, bun is great. Soft shell crab is always a great appetizer. I wish they brought back the durian shakes but other then that I love this place read more

The ambiance is okay! It's nice if you like really dark places, but I feel like it would cozier with some real or faux candles on the dining tables. The food was ok, not anything outstanding. For the price, it is definitely more expensive than other Vietnamese places around Worcester, but I guess the date-worthy ambiance kind of makes up for that. As a Vietnamese person, they gave way too little vegetables for our phở. I'll take into account that make customers might be wasting it, so if you like veggies ask for a little more! Same thing with the boba in our avocado shake--way too small amount! The service was nice, but also very average. Waitresses were attentive and quick. read more

We ordered delivery from here recently. Our order was lighter than our usual orders but I would say still gave us an adequate impression of this place. To start, we ordered the veggie spring rolls. Our order had been sitting in our fridge until we were able to dig in which caused the rolls to be soggy and obviously detracted from the experience. They provided three with an order which is ideal if your party has three or six people but less than ideal if you are with somebody else. Yes, I can share a spring roll, but I would rather have a WHOLE spring roll, you know? If you're vegan or don't eat seafood, beware that the dipping sauce with which it comes has a strong representation of fish sauce and is extremely fishy. We also ordered pho which was really delicious. There was more than enough for both of us and came packing with tons of veggies and mix ins. I would definitely order pho from here again. We ordered chinese broccoli and tofu which was also good. I liked that it didn't come with a syrupy, goopy sauce that chinese dishes entail. It was flavored by a light sauce and was very enjoyable. The tofu wasn't cooked at all which I guess also makes it healthy but less pleasurable to eat. I like what I see so far. read more

I grew up with this place and have fond memories of all the Vietnamese foods and desserts. Coming back as an adult, the food quality has really come down and the prices are insanely high. I live in Boston and the Vietnamese there is much cheaper and better than here. Worcester isn't an expensive place. Bahn Hoi here costs $25! In Boston it's usually $15! You get the same amount of food too. The beef was awful over cooked, too much sugar, and thickly cut. One of the worst Vietnamese I've ever had. read more

Food is fresh and delicious, portions are a little smaller than I would have expected. The staff is friendly and it's clean and nice inside.

I've always gotten a pretty good Pho here until the other night couldn't wait, I ordered Chicken Pho. I had asked exact instructions please extra fresh herbs on side this time like; the cilantro, whole basil tops bean sprouts, scallions, jalapeños, raw onion slices & limes. Ok so it gets home I open it up.... how's it come all the herbs barely any and what's there is chopped fine! Like WTH?! So much for extra and the to boot the chic was sooooo DRY I didn't even eat it and to boot the price went up to 18.95! Think twice my peeps!! read more

Very nice restaurant. We've been meaning to check this out for a while now and so we were happy to swing by. There is a small-ish parking lot in front of restaurant that is shared with a few other store fronts so beware around busy times. Other than that we were able to sit immediately which was nice. The food came out quickly and was nice prepared / plated. I got the spicy beef pho which I wished was more spicy and flavorful. My friend got the sizzling beef which was SO good. I was eating off his plate! The restaurant wasn't too busy and it took a while for our waitress to come say hi, this caused some more delayed because we didn't have a drink menu so she had to go look for a few. The drinks weren't too strong and they were just ok, you could probably pass on these. I'm excited to go Back and try more entrees. The price point for the Pho was about 15, but the entrees were about 20-25 which is a little pricey for the area and broccoli and beef for one. The restaurant wasn't loud, there looked to be a lot of door dash orders so it seems to be a local favorite. read more

The broth was excellent and they loaded the bowl with toppings. I was finding brisket and pork belly when I arrived at the end of my noodles and it was time to lift the bowl! And the team provided a great recommendation for a new dessert bar that opened down town. I grew up with Pho Dakao, it was the spot for Vietnamese long ago when there weren't that many options in this part of town. I've been around since when they were a small and plain restaurant and now they've grown and extended and renovated and was there even when they opened a second restaurant in Framingham. However, nowadays there are many options in Worcester for very true & authentic Vietnamese flavors that don't water down their broths or seasonings and this time around, I still find the food here pretty decent. One thing I don't come here for is the Pho, because I know I could get it better elsewhere but for other dishes like Bun Vermicelli Bowl, or Sizzling Beef, Grilled Pork Chops with Broken Rice, etc. those are the dishes that I go for here. Tonight, I had a bad experience with the water, as it was tasting very plastic-y or chemical-y but our server, Hue, who was very nice and quick on her feet, gave us complimentary water bottles instead. The food isn't to-die-for-spectacular, but that's coming from somebody who has been spoiled by Californian Vietnamese food, but it's still good and they still manage to bring me back once in a blue moon or so. I highly recommend Pho Dakao for those who are pretty new to Vietnamese cuisine as they have the perfect atmosphere to do so with a full bar, booths, plenty of nice & clean space, full team of staff, modernized decor, however, tonight they didn't have any music playing which can be awkward when you are seated near other tables who are eating silently. Pho Dakao is one of the oldest spots for Vietnamese in Worcester, and they're here to stay, so try them out if you haven't! read more

I don't think this place is anything to write home about. I could be wrong; I came in for some pho and sat at the bar, the people around me seemed to be regulars who knew the bartender well. I ordered the seafood noodle soup. The soup was not as good as expected. I'm actually not sure if it was pho as the menu is a little tricky about what is pho and what isn't which irks me. It didn't taste authentic to me. It had very limited seafood and a lot of imitation crab. Not too fond of a facility putting imitation crab in front of their 'seafood' dish. The bartender was nice but paid very little attention to me, and had me wait for a good 10 minutes with my hands crossed to ask me if I was done and another 10 minutes to give me my receipt. Mind you, I was sitting right in front of her throughout my meal. No worries there, I'm not a regular, and I'm not sure I will be. I have friends who swear by this place, and I will have to give it another chance for them. Cheers. read more

We did a spontaneous day trip to Worcester and the area, and looked up restaurants in the area and found Pho Dakao, and we're happy we did. The summer rolls were lovely; the Sizzling (Mongolian) Beef prepared to perfection-- the beef was beautifully seasoned and very nice flavorful cuts (we ordered a side of steamed vegetables as well); and the Chicken Curry was delicious as well. The ambiance is a little eclectic, but it gave off a relaxed vibe. The food came super fast, so perhaps not the best date restaurant for a slow, lingering meal; but we'll definitely come back next time we're in Worcester. read more

I appreciate the hard work of the waitress. We were concerned because she didn't write anything down. We thought for sure that our orders would get messed up, but everything was as requested. I'm guessing it was the chef that let us down though. I've never paid so much for such tasteless food. When I tell you that I would have preferred to eat the food raw than to eat seemingly unseasoned, flavorless food. At the end of the meal, when the waitress checked in on how everything was going, I had to ask her if this was authentic Vietnamese cuisine or tailored to their clientele. Of course, I already knew that the food was tailored to the majority clientele. On the bright side, we enjoyed our vegetarian crispy spring rolls and Boba milk tea. read more

I was at the Asian Supermarket next door and I spied Pho Dakao. It was lunch time and quite cold out so a perfect time to pop in for a bite. I took a booth way in the back and ordered my usual. I ordered the large #18. Dc Bit: Rare Steak, Flank, Brisket, Tendon, and Tripe. I chose the yellow noodles. $9.95 The broth was good flavored. I added the usual lime, sprouts, and basil with a small squirt of cock and housin sauces. The pho was hot and satisfying. Service was pleasant. read more

I'm not the type to even write reviews but the service I received that day was terrible. This weekend I stopped by here to get some pho. From the beginning they were very dismissive but I didn't really care because I just wanted to eat and leave. I'm eating the pho and I find a fly in my noodles. I walk up to one of the guys cleaning up the tables to let him know and he tells one of the waitresses to come to me. She comes and I show her the fly in pho. Proceeds to ask me if I want another one, I decline, she gives me a dirty look and walks away without saying anything else. She walks into the kitchen and I hear her mocking me. So I'm debating whether I should catch an attitude because I think I was pretty chill in the first place about finding a fly in my pho. So as I'm waiting at my table she comes back doesn't even acknowledge me and tells me friend that we're all set and we can just go and she makes a shooing gesture. No apology or anything. She was blatantly rude about the whole thing and I'm surprised at the audacity she has. If you see this you're a c*nt :). read more

Went here a couple weeks ago with friends new to Vietnamese dishes! Thought this would be perfect because their dishes aren't as strong in flavor, but enough so that they can try different things. This establishment has been here ever since I can remember, so they must be doing something right. Managment & staff are typically very nice, although the bartender that served our table wasn't very kind. But everyone has bad days, no biggy. My friend tried the vermicelli noodles with springrolls. She said it was amazing...tasted fresh/delicious. My other friend and I tried actually tried pad thai and were very happy too! Love the cleanliness & decor as well. Glad we had a better experience! If you're new to Vietnamese dishes & want a test run, highly recommend this place. read more

A decent choice for some authentic Vietnamese food here in Worcester. Since we were just passing by its hard to compare the food to other local restaurants, but based on the other Vietnamese food I've had in other cities Pho Dakao leaves quite a bit to be desired. The best part is definitely the flagship bowl of pho, the portion of meat and noodles are quite generous and they served it quite hot. If that's all you're intending to get its a pretty good choice. However, both the Soft Shell Crabs and Grill Chicken Plate were a bit underwhelming. The crabs were about 4-5 pieces in total which is bit more premium considering the $13-14 price tag. However they were deep fried quite nicely but I thought they had way too much pepper and onions. The chicken plate is drier than what we would have liked and the rice is a bit too much. The service could have been better as well. I remember it was a bit of wait for the server to get our checks but I mean given its a traditional Vietnamese restaurant usually service aren't on their list of higher priorities. Overall its a nice place in the area where there's a major Asian Supermarket but definitely nothing too memorable in this visit to Pho Dakao. read more

On our way out of town, we decided to stop here to get some pho... We ordered: - Chicken Papaya salad - Special Beef Pho - Bún Bò Hu (spicy beef noodle soup) - Salty Limeade - Vietnamese Ice Coffee The chicken papaya salad was delicious, however, they did over sauce it, so it was bit too salty and for the price we paid, thought it would be slightly bigger. The special beef pho was good - the broth was tasty. The Bún Bò Hu definitely had some kick to it. At first when you try it, it doesn't see too spicy but as you keep eating it, the heat definitely kicks in! Very flavourful and tasty! The salty limeade was really good - nicely blended and the ice coffee, also good, but for both drinks, definitely let it sit for a little bit for the ice to melt, otherwise it is strong and you will finish the drink quite fast! read more

Seating and service here was very quick and attentive, they have attractive modern decor with a large neon sign and a drink menu. Due to it being late in the night and very close to closing I opted out of drinks. I ordered hot tea and pho tai, the staff was friendly and fast. My order came in short time and it was quite large. The broth was strong and flavorful, the meat not as rare as I hoped but it was still good texture. The noodles they used were thin ...I just wish there were more. I also regret not adding beef balls into my pho I think that would have tasted really good. The iced coffee was on the sweeter side so if you favor sweets you'll like it. Overall this pace is nice, dimly lit, it has mood lighting so if you're not into that, this isn't for you. read more

Our favorite of all Vietnamese restaurants. Great vegan options. Always friendly, helpful service.

Thai food is on point at this place. Was traveling for work and local recommended this place and it didn't disappoint!

Used to love it here but after they went up on the prices no longer go there. 22$ for 12 wings is a complete rip off. Sorry but true

The very best Pho broth! The customer service with a credit card issue was above and beyond helpful. I'm so very pleased with how it was resolved and they sent me home with Pho to enjoy! read more

My order: summer roll, pho special, and Vietnamese Ice coffee. Summer Roll: I have to say I a bit disappointed... traditional Vietnamese rolls would include a lot of different veggies. This roll is dull and only consist of iceberg lettuce. When it was brought out, you can tell it just came out of the microwave. The peanut sauce doesn't even taste like real peanut sauce. Pho Special: It's pretty bland. There's not a lot of flavor to it. The meat was chewy, and the noodles were undercook. Nothing extraordinary about this bowl of pho. I couldn't finish the dish. Vietnamese ice coffee: this coffee is pretty good. I have no comments. Staff/Service: the staff here are friendly. They came by and ask how I was doing and if I need anything else. This kind of service are not usually offered at Vietnamese pho places. Price: the price was decent. Similar to other pho restaurants. Overall: got to remember that this restaurant is located in a predominantly white city; therefore, their dishes matched the community's pallet. It's unfortunate these dishes had lost their authentic Vietnamese flavor. Would I come back for pho? Probably not... read more

Pho is great here. I try to go once a week if possible. People are very nice as well.

I sit here eating the soft shell crab appetizer and it's better than I expected. Seasoned perfectly and fried to perfection. I got the Pho with chicken and vegetables and it was so good. I recommend that highly. And then my boyfriend got the Bun with shrimp, beef and spring roll. He was disappointed that he got 1 shrimp and he had to peel it himself. The beef was AMAZING!!!!! There was not really sauce for the noodles, he didn't like that it was just plain rice noodles with no flavor. They gave him a sauce on the side but we thought it was for the crab... so he decided to put the rest of it into the bowl and used that. It tasted better when he did that. I asked for steak for my pho and I didn't get it,so they brought that in a hot soup so he took that soup and put it in his bowl. He was happy after that. I am definitely coming back for that beef. It tasted exactly like my childhood favorite dish from Bamboo Hut. I've been searching for that flavor for years and I finally found it so I was very happy. It has the potential to be a 4 Star but I would rate 3.5. Something's were very very flavorful, but others fell short. I will be back. read more

And if you're into vegetarian/vegan food, there are definitely some good options. Parking is plentiful and the restaurant itself is pretty big. Since it's down the street from my house, I've been coming here for many years. This place is a hit or miss when it comes down to food. There's days that it's absolutely tasty then days where it's not great. I would also recommend paying in cash here. I had a situation where the waitress wasn't a good server so I decided to give her 15% for tip. She didn't smile or ask if we needed anything else, also rushed us to leave. Few days after when the transaction of my meal was done pending. I noticed the waitress added extra $5 tip for herself. Total was $16.01 with tip, but they took out $21.10 instead. We not be coming here anymore. read more

I thought it was illegal to serve durian. Not here! Don't get me wrong. I didn't order it. But it's on the menu, so this place is authentic. The bubble teas lack tea, and are more reminiscent of smoothies with tapioca pearls, but they're delish all the same. The pho was as pho should be - hot, filling, reviving, salty, and served with all the right fresh self-dosed accompaniments of bean sprouts, mint, lime, hoisin sauce, and sriracha. The mochi was a great unexpected treat for dessert. The service was friendly and fast. This place might make Worcester a nearly ok place to live for a short period of time. ;) read more
