Round steak pho
Eli J.

This place is great for pho. Haven't had it in a long time, but doesn't seem to have changed much. The dine in experience is actually set up really nice once you get the hang of it. You just order your food at kiosk, grab a table, and have a self serve bar for all the pho fixings (basil, cilantro, sprouts, sauces, etc). They have all the takeout containers sitting out so you can box up your leftover pho and make a container of extras to take home for another meal. I'm a big fan of the self service. No it's not the cleanest, I wouldn't go there looking for the cleanest bathroom in the world. But if you want a great, simple, affordable meal it's great. Highly recommend.

Noel and I went to another Vietnamese restaurant but it was closed so I was able to locate this restaurant via Yelp App. It was only about 5 miles from where we were but unfortunately back to near where we started. Located near the hospital complex. The parking lot was empty so we thought this one was closed too...but thank goodness they were open. We went inside where they had examples of the bowl sizes on display along with menus. The instructions said to find a table that was available and turn our display to show taken. To figure out what we wanted, then go to kiosk place order and pay. They will bring our food out. Everything was pretty self explanatory. Is this the way it's done overseas? Noel and I both chose Beef Pho, shared some spring rolls with peanut dipping sauce and I got a unsweetened bottled tea and Noel went with a Strawberry Bubble Tea with a milk based flavoring. It was a jelly textured bubble in her drink, too sweet for me. We went to salad bar and got our Cilantro, Thai basil, spices, bean sprouts and jalapenos. This was to put in our medium bowls of Pho. The food was very good. I'm still trying to learn how to use chopsticks. The fried garlic spice was good. The Pho was amazing and we had plenty to take home as leftovers but the spring rolls were horrible. The wrappers were like a rubbery covering, very thick and rubbery. I couldn't handle the texture of it. So, I broke it open and put into my Pho bowl. The food was good enough to go back again. I definitely want to try the Banh Mi sandwich, especially the grilled on!!! Definitely recommend to anyone looking for some great Pho. Prices were sort of high but I don't get this very often , so very worth it. Just not crazy about those Spring Rolls...

If you've never eaten Pho, this place could be intimidating. Regardless, the Pho and Thai tea was fantastic. I will be back. Service was not very inviting, but I was hungry . Ambiance, not much to it...again it's about the food.

This place is so much better now that they offer lunch specials. Small phone and half Bahn Mi is a great deal.

Very disappointed with the iced coffee. So bad I had to throw it out. Unfortunately, that was my first experience there :(.

I got a double cortado, which was quite good, and an egg, ham and pesto sandwich -- and they were able to make it gluten free. It was a tad light on the fixins so I was a still a bit hungry afterwards. But it came with a side of either chips, fruit or applesauce, and I took the chips to have as a snack later on the road. You can tell the owners put a lot of effort and care into their shop, and the energy is upbeat, though the lighting and flooring make it feel like you're in an office. Despite that, the coffee was solid, and it was very quiet early on a Monday morning while all the students were in school. Definitely an ideal place to get some work done!

Wanting to have some authentic Japanese food and the path took us to Yama's Japanese Restaurant…read more It's a barely noticeable hole in the wall in Downtown Morgantown. There's a paid parking lot across the street as well as metered parking on High Street. Their awning has seen better days but after walking up a small flight of stairs, you enter a cozy restaurant and greeted by its staff. There's about 8 tables for seating and the walls are neatly decorated with Japanese art. The front wall displays photos of their food offerings and made ordering easy. The friendly cashier answered some questions and we placed our order of shoyu ramen, curry rice with chicken katsu, shumai, gyoza, and takoyaki as well as soft drinks. There were several other customers having their meals and more gradually filled the tables as others left. The food was served soon after and looked delicious. They formed a kitty cat with the rice, complete with nori for cat eyes on the curry katsu plate. Nice touch. The curry was very flavorful and just the right consistency and a little spicy which went great with the katsu. Only wish there was more katsu. My buddy's ramen looked fantastic and was told the noodles were delicious in the broth. Found out the noodles aren't made in house but bought from a vendor. The gyoza and shumai were very tasty alone and with its sauce. The takoyaki took some time to cook but was nicely sauced and served. There were sizable chunks of tako inside and was very tasty. The prices are reasonable for a specialty restaurant and the service was great. There's another Japanese restaurant in Morgantown which was very good but Yama's was a little better and I'd return if ever I'm in Morgantown.

They're a small place maybe 20 or so seats. So sometimes you have to wait to order be seated and get your order. Lunch time seems to be alot easier to accommodate people who don't have patience. Personally I've eaten quite a few things on the menu. I enjoy the shoyu Ramen the shrimp shumei the gyoza. I've had the takoyaki a few times as well as the spicy tuna roll. Portions are good price is good and the staff is awesome. The decoration inside makes me think that that is what a japanese family type restaurant would look like in japan. Many light novels and manga on the book shelves to peruse through (all in japanese of course) which incidently your read from back to front right page to left page incase anyone wants to look at them. Can't recommend yama enough.

It was well past 2 o'clock, and I try not to drink coffee after 11ish-o'clock, because it usually messes with my sleep. But I remembered the words of a man much wiser than me who once said, "I never sleep, 'cause sleep is the cousin of death," so I felt like a lil' iced coffee would actually be beneficial, in this case. No regrets. The iced coffee was great! I always forget about iced coffee when I'm at a coffee shop, because I just usually order a hot black coffee. I'm so stuck in my ways, sometimes! But iced coffee was a good choice in this situation, and it came with a little vanilla cream, which was unexpected but a nice indulgence. The Grind is located right across the street from West Virginia University. It was packed when I visited, and I imagine it is almost always packed, because of its location. But the people who work here are very efficient and friendly, and my iced coffee was ready lickety-split. I got my coffee to go, but there are some tables inside the coffee shop to sit and relax, if you wanted to. One of my favorite things about The Grind is that they have a confession box in the restroom. I left a little confession in the box, because it promised that the box was "a safe place to share what you can never tell a soul," and I felt that I could trust this random coffee shop in West Virginia with my whole heart. I left my confession there, and took my iced coffee with me and went on my way.

I did a quick search looking for the best wings in town, and this restaurant was within a decent distance from my location, so I decided to drop by. I ordered for pickup, so I couldn't give much insight on the overall vibe of the restaurant. It's very much a sports bar and there was some light music playing. As I walked in, I was quickly greeted by the bar back and the young lady assisted with my takeout order. Others at the bar appear to have been enjoying their time and drink. Now to the wings, I ordered buffalo wings with a side of Thai sauce. The wings were heavily breaded and could've used more seasoning. The Thai sauce might've been better tossed with the wings. I also ordered a side of fries. The fries were actually really good. Overall, this wasn't a bad experience, but it didn't leave a lasting impression or exceed my expectations.

Sabraton Station has quickly climbed to the top of the rankings for best wings in Morgantown!…read more We went here in Wednesday before their Trivia Night rush, and I was very happy with my experience. Our waitress, Brooke, was new but she was extremely knowledgeable and took good care of us. She recommended the Corona wings. She said they were a dry rub and described them as not being spicy but having a lot of flavor. They were fantastic! I got 10 BIG wings, and they came out extra crispy without me having to ask. It is worth it to upgrade to the Brew Fries for an extra $0.50! There is a ton of covered outdoor seating with a large TV on the wall. The inside has a great bar and gives the vibe of an old time bar with the lighting, but everything has been updated and it is very clean. Brooke explained to us that their wing night is on Thursdays, where they offer $0.89 wings. Monday is steak night, and Wednesday at 7:00pm is Trivia. After 10 wings (not on wing night), a Buffalo Chicken Wrap, and two sides of Brew Fries, our total came to $35. Much cheaper than other places around Morgantown! I was much more impressed with SS than I was with Kegler's. We will be back!
