Our favorite dish here is the shaking beef with red rice. So savory and well balanced. Dua dam-first time having this smashed coconut dessert and I loved it! What I appreciated was the coconut flavor, the coconut milk they use is delicious and this dessert is not super sweet. It was nutty and round. All the coconut and jelly pieces were so yummy! Crab soup - do not be deceived by the bowl it comes in. it is packed with ingredients! Crab, egg, various, mushrooms, quail egg and half a tea egg! I think it also had some other ground meat too. It was light in flavor and a thick texture soup. Wings - crispy, salty and slightly sweet! A good balance of flavor. They also have some of the strongest viet coffee Ive ever had. 2nd time here, on our way to Reno. Ordered our favorite Banh Mi Chao, and a new item - Roasted chicken with red rice. The chicken is not as flavorful, but you can dip it in the fish sauce to make it more flavorful, so I gave it a 4 stars, although it is not the best roasted chicken I have had, but I love this restaurant, thats why still give higher ratings. If you don't like fish sauce, perhaps order something else. I would like to try their chicken wings or crepes next time. I saw some Vietnamese having those, and they look delicious. We also ordered the tropical fruit tea. I asked for no ice as it is pretty chilly nowadays. It is too sweet without the ice, I then mix it with some cold water, turns out very yummy. Lunch date with my friends here Thursday early afternoon,walking in immediately impressed by the aesthetic of the place nice lighting greenery and pleasing color scheme. Ordered several dishes and all were so tasty the best for me were there mini pancakes had a nice bite to the shrimp and different seasonings. Also got the salted fish crab fried rice, shaking beef and their chicken wings we were all pleased and happily full with our lunch. Amazing food and generous servings to share. We ordered their #1, #2, #3. Banh mi chao (deconstructed banh mi) was their most popular item, hot plate deconstructed banh mi. Very good meat, not overcooked and pate was rich. The bread is toasted and fresh. Their crispy banh knots are great too, small nice egg crispy pancakes with shrimp. Goes with fresh herbs/veggies and pickle sauce. The crab udon soup with shrimp was light, not spicy, and just feels good in your tummy. Very friendly service. Pretty solid banh mi chao and banh khot. The first time I saw as here, my husband and I both got the banh mi chao each and an order of the banh khot to share. The banh mi chao is pretty heavy and I wasn't able to finish mine. This time around, we got the banh mi chao and 2 orders of the banh khot to share between my husband, my toddler and myself. It was filling but did not feel sluggish after. Haven't tried any of the other dishes but the two I have tried were bomb. The food comes out quick and the servers check on you every so often. I loved this place! The inside is beautiful and staff are kind! They have a limited menu, but that tells me they really specialize in what they make and yes it is delicious! My friend and I shared a banh khot, which are mini pancakes. They're like mini banh xeos, but with less things so easier to eat haha. It was super good and the shrimp was cooked very nicely. But even then, I think I would wait that long to have the food here. This is my second time eating here, but we decided to come on a weekday during lunchtime while it was raining, so there was no waiting to be seated. The first time I came I ordered the Bo Ne, which was awesome. This time I tried the roast chicken and a crepe on the side because I was feeling like a big boy. The chicken was seasoned well, the white meat could have been a bit more juicy but the skin was crispy. The crepe was delicious as well, I didn't take a picture so I forgot the tasting notes. Bún Bò Huế is my go-to dish at Vietnamese restaurants, and this one was part of their specials menu today, so I felt lucky to catch it. The presentation was nice -- the soup came in a clay pot that kept it hot throughout the meal. However, the flavor didn't quite blow me away. I felt the sweetness overpowered the spiciness, which is usually the highlight of a good Bún Bò Huế. On the bright side, the restaurant atmosphere was lovely. I especially enjoyed the background music -- every song was pleasant and had a bit of a French touch. One small downside: the condiment box. "Bánh Mì Chảo" - is a Vietnamese-styled hot alternative to stuffed baguettes. The warm "crunchy out soft in" vietnamese bread served in hot pan with combination of pork meat like meat balls - paté ( pork liver) and sunny side up egg, Even it's crowded for lunch time but all servers are attentive. The food is brought to you sizzling hot which I love. The menu is small so there's not a lot of selection, however I think big menus can be overwhelming. My boyfriend really loved it and the beef was tender. Their bread was also just the best. I'd say it's easy to split just that order. But we wanted to also try the other food; we got the fried wings (amazing and well-seasoned!), crab soup (more on the thick side but had lots of ingredients including century egg), and we also got the shaking beef with noodles. The shaking beef tastes like stir fried, and it was pretty good. I don't think we should have chosen the noodles though (it was more like pasta than Asian noodles). Recommend to get the red rice instead. I'm a little picky about my veggies, so I was really happy when the vegetables that came with the Banh Khot had plenty of basil and mint that looked clean and fresh. The service was nice and in my opinion had a good balance between being hands off and attentive. A couple of FYIs: If you have a large party, make sure to have 75% of your group present otherwise they will not seat you. Also, to pay, you have to walk up to the counter. Boyfriend and I stopped by for lunch yesterday after reading so many good reviews. If you don't like to wait, definitely come earlier to reserve a spot because this place gets busy really fast! There's a yelp waitlist at the front that you can sign up for. We got the crispy fish sauce wings, banh mi chao, shaking beef, fresh orange juice, and Vietnamese iced coffee with milk. Everything was so flavorful and delicious! The crispy fish sauce wings were our favorite because of the lovely balance between sweet and salty, and they were also cooked perfectly. I enjoyed my banh mi chao. The eggs absorbed the juices of the steak really well and there were so many incredible textures, especially when paired with their warm fluffy loaf of bread. My boyfriend also enjoyed the shaking beef. Our drinks were good too. Service was really quick and fast. They didn't waste any time, which was understandable since we came at peak lunch hours. However they also weren't rude, and even when it was clear that they were trying to get everything done quickly, you weren't treated as a nuisance which is what I sometimes experience when I go to a restaurant during their peak business times. They made sure to take good care of you while also trying to be efficient, which I can appreciate. Ambiance wise, I wish that the music was a tad lower. Again, we came at peak lunch hours so there was already a lot going on. It can be quite overwhelming for someone who's sensitive to a busy environment and gets overstimulated easily, but this can be easily avoidable if you go at different hours so it wasn't a huge problem for me.
