Came here after hearing on social media that the wings were good enough to move to Sacramento for. As someone who was raised in Sac and left at 18, I'll be the judge of whether or not it's worth it to go back to Sac. We came around lunch hour and there were a handful of tables available. As soon as my party came, tons of people were lined up behind us. They took so so so long to seat the lady in front of us and my party. We waited at least 20min even though there were empty tables. When we finally knew we were next, they ended up calling a different party who came after, but we were nice enough to let that party sit down since the host initially messed up. When we were finally sat, we ordered 2 thai teas, a coconut coffee, the wings which didn't have the same name is the one the influencer mentioned which were supposed to be the fish sauce wings, and I ordered hu tieu. Thai tea was fine. My fiance loved his coconut coffee, so that softened his slightly sour mood. When the wings came out, already they looked different from the fish sauce ones on social media. Been coming here since I was young. I like to get their combo with New York steak Pho. You can choose to have the steak cooked already or on the side for you to cook as you eat. If you choose to cook it as you eat, they bring you a side of hot broth for you to cook it in. Their portions are huge and cheaper than other restaurants in the area. I love coming here with my friends! Always recommend getting the ny steak strip in your pho! They give you two options: meat on the side, or meat inside your pho. I always tell my friends to get meat on the side, as the place provides you a hot bowl of water so you can cook the meat to your preference! It also helps to keep the pho broth as clean as possible. The pho was alright but I'm kinda disappointed. Ordered a large but gave very little meat. Wasn't really satisfy, other pho places gave lots of meat for a large bowl. Again I have no idea why but pho in Northern California give such little vegetables compare to Bay Area and Southern California. On top of that why on earth you give me jalapeño that's filled with black seeds??? You do realize the jalapeño has been aging and it's molding from the inside. This can lead to health concern. I personally think their bun Bo hue broth lacks in the rich flavor that BBH is known for and their banh beo tapioca consistency is just alright. Not the best for Viet food but it is definitely better than other Vietnamese restaurants I've tried in the Sac / Davis area.
