In my opinion, the thin baguette banh mi Que was really good for the price. I got two banh mi Que and it was the perfect snack for 2 people. They also serve soft serve ice cream with super fun flavors like taro or durian. They also had basic flavors like chocolate. The drink menu was pretty extensive. Overall, a great snack place that also sells full meals. Definitely will be coming back.

I always see this restaurant when I'm driving through Bellaire. I Stopped by today to eat something light. The lady that took my order was super nice. I believe she was the owner. Another lady who brought out my food was also very nice and always checked up on how my food was. Only negative thing is that The interior could use some updating and they were out of certain food items. Also, their drive through does not work. The food was great though! We ordered the banh mi thit nuong & bun bo w eggroll. We also got the sugarcane drink with kumquat. It's all made in house and very delicious! This is a small mom & pop restaurant, and the service was amazing. I hope they thrive. Highly recommend trying out this place.

Lately I've only been going to local mom and pop shops. These types of restaurants deserves to shine. However, my experience at this location was just fair. To start it took a while to receive my drinks & food. It took close to 12 minutes for our sugarcane drinks & 30 minutes for the food to come out. Honestly the only thing that should take a little long is their banh mi bo kho. Once the food was delivered, my friend didn't get his grilled chicken banh mi so he had to wait longer. Then when his order came out it was shredded chicken instead of grilled chicken. He was already hungry so he didn't send it back. Okay, so for our drinks I got the sugarcane with the kumquat & my friend ordered the sugarcane with passion fruit. Both drinks were refreshing & had the right amount of sweetness. The banh mi Bo kho was uninspiring & didn't have much depth to it except it being salty. Aromatics were weak & I didn't get a hint of lemongrass. Only positive thing that I can say is the meat is tender. My broken rice with ribs, egg cake, sunny side egg and bone in ribs were just okay. Small portions & the egg cake was overcooked. The bone in ribs was nicely seasoned and very lemongrass forward. They also give you a side of soup which tasted better than the broken rice dish. Good combination of mushrooms & spinach. Broth is good for a rainy day. My friend shredded chicken banh mi was a disappointment. Sad looking toppings & the chicken was bland. Overall I wasn't that happy with this location. Everyone that I interacted with was nice but they moved in a snails pace. I hope this place strives because it was dead on a Saturday evening. I'll give this spot another try in 3 months once they get their kinks out of the way.

The worst banh mi que ever. It was very dry and stale like it was old. The banh mi was also just as bad

Can you believe that someone from Reddit recommended this restaurant after I expressed my desire to…read moreeat more vegan Vietnamese dishes? I was clueless about Duy's sandwich that has been a vegetarian restaurant at this location for 15 years until I came here talking to the employee. It's kind of tucked away from the main street view of Bellaire Blvd. The restaurant has a variety of banh mi sandwiches and some ready made vegan dishes on display tables. Wow. Everything looks so yummy. I was surprised with the flavors of my Lemongrass Sandwich. I was too busy to brag about the flavors to my friends on social media and completely forgot to open the sandwich to investigate the ingredients. The mayonnaise is eggless which made it completely vegan. Although I have been cooking a lot in recent months, I could never duplicate what they serve. Yeah, adding this Duy's Vegetarian Cafe to my favorite vegan restaurant list.

Its super casual and has the restaurant portion for sit down dining and quite a bit of takeout/vegetarian ingredients. My partner and I came in a Sunday afternoon and it was pretty quiet. Staff were extremely kind and friendly. You order and pay at the cashier then sit at a table to wait for your orser. We got the vegetarian cold cut combo banh mi, the lo mein, and the rice rolls. Everything was full of flavor and we did not miss animal protein. The banh mi had a nice, crisp bread along with a good amount of veggies and vegetarian cold cuts. The lo mein was very flavorful and the mushrooms really stood out as a nice unami bomb. The veggies were well cooked too and maintained crispness. My favorite was the rice rolls, which had the perfect texture, velvety, slightly QQ, and had a great filling along with a nice sauce. The veggies that accompanied it were a great addition too. My partner and I ended up getting a couple of their ready made dishes to take home and they were only $8 each. They were also delicious (basil kidney and stuffed bitter melon). I think the food here is solid and still affordable. To me, its a great restaurant that puts out good food that also happens to be vegetarian. I really didn't miss meat with my meals here and can't wait to come back!

I tried there grilled BBQ pork baguette and the meat was done really well! They will have a butter spread along the base of the baguette with a little bit of mayonnaise to help give the filling a premiere texture. I just wish that they would do the same to the ceiling and not just the base of the baguette. Fair warning, if you drop by later on in the day, close to their closing hours, the baguette may not be as moist, still somewhat crunchy though. I highly recommend going earlier on the day to catch the baguette when it's made fresh. Service is standard for this area of town. They'll prepare the baguette in less than 5 minutes and will call your name when ready. Another fair warning, this place was cash only. Come prepared. The place is very spacious with a couple of tables and seats. Most folks choose the to-go option. You'll have no problems with finding seating if you'd like to stay.

This restaurant is very quiet and not too busy but there's a lot of people coming in and out and ordering to go. If you want to dine in, there's a few tables for you to enjoy your food. First time I was here, I ordered just a combination banh mi. It was delicious, meats were filling and seasoned nicely. The bread was toasted just right. Decided to come back last night with my friend. I got their Bo ne and a Thai tea & my friend ordered the shredded chicken banh mi. I thought that my dish would be shareable but it wasn't. The portions were small for the price but I still left pretty full. The sauce on the Bo ne was delicious and seasoned perfectly. Bread was crispy and flaky on the outside and fluffy on the inside. Idk if they make their pate/butter in-house but it was the best I've had. The steak was also tendered and the egg was cooked just right with a runny yolk. My Thai tea was solid but wasn't as sweet as I would've liked it. My friend shredded chicken banh mi was also very good. Crispy baguette, chicken was tendered and veggies were filling. Overall, this is a good hidden spot for some good banh mi. The service was quick and the owner was nice. The person who brought out the food was very kind. They also have a buy 5 sandwiches and get one free. Prices are reasonable and the food is good. Will I come back? Yes. I need to try their banh mi bo kho next time.
