That's what I was going to order so I left. I recently gave them another shot and what a regret that was. Came in and the owners and their entire family were there ripping bags of chips, using foul language, talking about personal subjects not appropriate for a restaurant, etc. I felt like I was in their living room rather than a restaurant. Also, one of them kept on going in and out of the front door every 1-2 minutes wearing a hoody in a way that made me nervous like I need to keep a watchful eye. He was constantly engaging with all the "off" street people and even invited a homeless person inside to go through the garbage to collect recycling. All the while the owners are all there, chilling with their family, and not really caring about cultivating a comfortable environment for their dine in customers, I had enough. It was heaven and a sandwich was good to get you through two meals. Then they disappeared. Today my wife brought me home a sandwich from Subshop and it hit all the right notes! Fresh baked bread with a great flavor and structure that held together. I had the turkey sandwich and added avocado and bacon. They were very generous with both. Every bite had all of the ingredients and flavors and was perfectly balanced. While this was my first experience with Subshop it won't be my last!

Angelo is mostly open at night, especially this time of year... as he says the lunch crowd is almost non-existent. I finally got lucky today, while out wandering around downtown. I asked Angelo to make me an OG with au jus on the side, so I could take it home and have it for dinner. He was very accommodating... and got me fixed right up! Nuked the au jus he sent me home with, and got out the giardiniera that I had in the fridge. Loaded the sandwich up with giardiniera, poured the au jus over the top (I love these sandwiches wet!), and then devoured it. I did have to add a little salt, and even hit it with some hot sauce, because I like it that way. Great sandwich... LOTs of meat, the smoked provolone was perfect, and the roll it was on was tasty too. Definitely a full meal! Highly recommended, and I hope to see you there.
