New management has made this Bluffton-area Vietnamese a wonderful place to try something different for those who like to venture out, but good enough to eat everyday for those who are fans of the genre. Seriously good pho with a nice range of meats backed up by good sized portions of bean sprouts, limes, cilantro, jalapenos, and fresh thai basil. I've had pho in over 30 different places and this broth is as good as it gets anywhere. Lunch specials solid, too, and a good array of vietnamese favors, Soft drinks, wine and beer as needed, but this is the place to head when you need a great fix of vietnamese or the perfect anecdote for a cold or cold day. Setting is a store front restaurant that's typical of Vietnamese eateries. Sriracha and plum sauces with hot pepper condiments on table top. Clean inside, menu expansive. Good listing of traditional dishes, drink selection of varying beers and a few wines (disappointed with lack of Banh Mi, a staple in american Vietnamese restaurant offerings) Soft drinks come in can form (one can per order) and ice water. Food quality was well prepared. Servings mid size as compared to other Vietnamese eateries in urban settings (DC, LA, etc.). The main service consisted of take order, drop off food, deliver bill, best part was older gentleman refilling water on routine basis. Prices were standard. So so for nationwide comparison, limited choices in the immediate area. If you really need Vietnamese food and can't wait, it's a trustworthy choice. read more

We were vacationing in Hilton Head Island and had the craving for some "pho." We weren't sure if this would have the authentic pho we want. We decided to give it a try and it did not disappoint. The pho was fantastic, I had the beef pho with meat ball. The lunch menu was great as well, with basil beef being delish! Definitely a place for us to revisit! read more

Great food. Great service. Great price. The lemongrass dishes are our favorite. Nothing negative to say except they're not open on Monday.

I'm used to some of the best Pho in the Washington DC metro area, as we're fortunate to have a lot of good Vietnamese restaurants. I was a bit skeptical at first, but the Pho (Menu number 19, Spicy Thinly Sliced Beef) came out just perfect. Restaurant is clean, staff courteous and food delectable. A must visit after you've had enough of the local fare (i.e., fish, steaks and burgers)! read more

We love the food and have become good friends with Thomas the proprietor. The Pho is very good and so healthy. We also love the yellow pancake and the veggie salad. We frequently go after Sunday service and always take friends who are visiting. Try it you'll like it. read more

Very disappointing. We have been going to Saigon Cafe for years and always had good food. Not sure what happened other than the staff size quadrupled and so did the prices. Lemongrass Chicken was anything but. Tasted like basic bland Chinese with brown sauce. :( I said something to the waitress and was basically told, you'll know for next time. Not sure when that next time will be. $13-$14 for an entree at an Asian restaurant?!? Maybe will try again in the fall when cold weather comes and stick to a noodle bowl. With the change of ownership , I thought that it would be appropriate to review Saigon Cafe . We had a fantastic lunch here today . Started with the fresh spring rolls , which were yes fresh and delicious . We then followed that by sharing a a Bowl of Pha Bo Vein which was large and came accompanied with plenty of fresh herbs and sprouts to add as is traditional . We then had the rice with Basil vegetables which we both agreed was outstanding . This is a small family owned place with the father acting as busboy , although not very busy at 3pm they were friendly and attentive , I couldn't ask for more . Pretty tough for a person "Joanna L" to review a place in Bluffton S.C when most of her reviews are of places in Major cities . This is Bluffton not N.Y or San Francisco . Sometimes I wonder what the standard is for comparison . In S.C everything takes more time and for the most part we like it that way . read more
