The first time I came here, it was pandemic, the tables and tables stacked to the side, and they only had take out. But what's a desperate for pho girl going to do in Bluffton?? The takeout was neatly packaged and deconstructed (I just got the pho tai), and you put it together at home. It was quite good! Fast forward when pandemic started to let up and the tables were out and you could eat in. Wow, well the eat-in experience was just way more enjoyable. But I really just enjoyed ordering food at sitting for a change. The workers are super nice and accommodating. It gets busy here at times! And no surprise... as the only pho business in town! Now is it the best pho I've ever had? No, but it is quite good and I'm not going to be picky! They have the basics plus some. Wish they had the coconut juice and smoothies, but I rather have the good food. We come here almost weekly, if not more! Warning however, don't expect big city cheaper prices. This is the only pho in town and they charge in line with it. What we order for 2 adults and a kid is *almost* twice what we'd pay even in CT. But it's good enough to warrant it. If there's ever another decent pho place that comes to Bluffton however, it might be beneficial competition for diners. A big draw... their pork dumplings are AMAZING!! My daughter and husband loves them so much, they insist on their own appetizer each. They are so well crisped all around and just so tasty. Definitely recommend! Also, I always end get their regular beef pho (pho tai) and we get my daughter the chicken on broken rice. (Oddly it's not actually on the menu, but they have it). It's like sliced up thin chicken in a delicious seasoning that's sweet but also a tiny bit of a kick. My daughter hates spicy but still eats this! It comes with a sweet sauce (one similar to the kind that you pour on a bun (noodle) salad dish), and my daughter likes to dip the chicken slices in it. I keep thinking I'd branch out to try other dishes, so maybe I will eventually! If you are hungry for pho, or some other great dishes, definitely come here! read more

Stopped by for a quick dinner, and was pleasantly surprised! I ordered the large pho bowl with meatballs and rare flank steak ($15.95) and two vegetable spring rolls ($2.99). Pho was delicious and they were very generous with the servings, especially the full plate of vegetables on the side. The spring rolls were hot and fresh out of the fryer, so can't complain. I went last night for dinner. Food and service was OK. However, also order Shrimp Salad To Go for lunch today. So upset when I opened the to go box, just now to see the salad. It was a complete disappointment. There were hardly any shrimp and the shrimp there were sliced in half lengthwise to make it appear like a full shrimp. There was maybe two shrimp in the entire order. Complete rip off. They should call this a cabbage salad with a sad shrimp accent. read more

So so good! I came here for lunch by myself while I was on the phone for work and everything was amazing. I was able to be seated right away and got to perusing the menu--I had a very hard time choosing. All the food tasted really fresh and the layers of flavor in all of them are so evident. The sauces for each of the dishes complimented them greatly. Any sort of ethnic food is a huge welcome to the Island and the area, especially when it's as great as Pho Saigon. We were so glad to have found this restaurant. The weather called for soup and this restaurant has a ton of options. The hot and sour was pretty good but much sweeter than I am used to. It was still quite good. It comes with the lunch specials as well as a spring roll. The goi con here is pretty amazing. I ordered 3 on my second visit. It would be great to have just a few more greens and possibly a little less noodles. The sauce to dip them in was perfect! They also have an appetizer called Tiger Shrimp. Ohhhhhh my those things were so good. You could order 2 or 3 of those and call it a lunch. If you remotely like shrimp do yourself a favor and get these. There is a well seasoned onion that is cooked in with it. Crispy and delicious The other dishes we tried were all well seasoned. The portions were also nice sized for the price. Non-traditional, I would describe it as Vietnamese inspired with fusion that works and misses on certain dishes. The lunch menu is reasonably priced, with a spring or fresh roll and soup. I had the lemongrass chicken, which was tasty but spicier and saucier than the typical version. The chicken was sliced thin in odd rectangular pieces. It had the texture of chicken but not much flavor other than absorbing the sauce. I am guessing it is run through a meat slicer when frozen. This is the first time I wanted more rice from an Asian restaurant. It came with barely half a cup. The fresh roll lacked greens and herbs although the accompanying dipping sauce was fine albeit on the sweet side. The hot and sour soup was where fusion went wrong. It tasted more like sweet and sour egg drop soup. Not a version I would recommend. Located adjacent to the Verizon plaza. As with most businesses in the Hilton Head area, it is recessed from the main road so look out for the small signage. For take out, everything including the soup was well packaged to avoid spillage. read more

This place was recommended from a co-worker and it did not disappoint! Got the spring rolls and fried pork dumplings as starters. They came out promptly and with great speed of service. Our waitress checked on us multiple times and made sure our drinks were refilled before they were empty. A simple task but often overlooked in the low country. We came on a Friday evening and there was a diverse crowd that added to this delicate eating setting. Clean tables and bathrooms. I am an Asian food junkie... seriously. I moved here from the California Bay Area where pho is a very common dish. There are literally pho shops on every single corner and everyone knows what it is. I got used to eating pho and other Vietnamese dishes multiple times in a week. When I moved to this area, it was a huge change as I could not satisfy my cravings anymore. Many people looked at me funny when I asked them where I could find some good pho. I even got to the point where I messaged many of my Vietnamese friends for their pho recipes to make it at home. One day while browsing through Yelp, Saigon Cafe was recommended to me and my heart rate started to elevate as I realized that I had a chance to finally order the pho that I was craving for so many months. I didn't have high expectations, as I haven't seen too many diverse choices of food in this area. When I finally had the chance to make it to Saigon cafe I was so elated. The prices were great, the food was wonderful, and just like that, I keep going back over and over again. I am so glad this place exists... I would probably lose my mind if it didn't (or waste too much gas constantly driving to Savannah). Please give this place your business. Pho is a very delicious soup dish, especially for the upcoming winter season... but please don't make this place have too long of a wait, I want a seat, too! read more

The pork vermicelli was flavorful and good. The service was quick and the staff was polite and responsive.

After reading most of the yelp reviews we decided to try Saigon Cafe. The portions were sharing size and reasonably priced. The food was fresh and delicious and the vegetable egg rolls were hand rolled to order. My server surprised me with a tofu and basil dish perfectly spiced in a delicious brown sauce. The hot tea was also delicious. After reading some of the lower rated reviews I can attest none of them were aligned with our experience. I was pretty stoked to try this place based on reviews. Came in on a very busy Tuesday evening and got one of the last tables, place was really hopping. Went with the spicy tofu with lemongrass. Our first visit and we were all pleasantly happy. Pho was wonderful, we had heard of this wonderful soup from an out of state friend and were excited to find a vietnamese restaurant near us. We started off with pork dumplings, these were wonderful!! You could make a meal out of these! We tried the beef and beef ball soup and the spicy beef soup. Both were very good, rice noodles were to perfection. The spicy was enough spice to make you notice it. But not so much that you cannot enjoy it. Service was impeccable. Absolutely amazing! Thank you, thank you, thank you, for answering my prayers and serving traditional, delicious Pho! The gentleman who created us when we entered was so friendly and welcoming, he was just awesome. Our server really wasn't that great, but the pho made up for his lack of attentiveness. Like any good pho the broth was perfect, spiced and seasoned just right. My only point of sadness was no hoisin sauce on the table, but seriously, the broth was so good I didn't even need to add anything to it. I added a little sriracha just to give it a tiny kick, but otherwise, I didn't have to add anything. I will be back, I wanted to go back the next day but had someone who doesn't really like any sort of Asian quinine so I couldn't. I can't wait to go back! Has not been the same since the older Vietnamese gentleman left when covid hit ! I have been since and the service has been ok but the food quality is down . They were out of rice wraps for the combination dinner and the positions of protein was small. Pho broth has been rushed and not complex . Before covid this place was spot on. I've been to this place several times and I had hoped over the years they would improve and realize what they need to do so someone doesn't come in and put them out of business. First of all, I am married to a Vietnamese woman and have been around Vietnamese families for over 30 years. I know what authentic Vietnamese food should taste like. This is an Americanized and watered down version of Vietnamese food. First the good: The restaurant is very clean and nicely decorated. The service while not perfection is quite good for a Vietnamese restaurant. The food is presented well and comes out hot. They make sure to say thank you to everybody when they are leaving the restaurant. Now the bad: Vietnamese Pho is a standard in a Vietnamese restaurant. There are several types of broth but each one should have a very complex and deep flavor profile based on the type of Pho being made. All of the broth's I have had are quite watered down with absolutely no complexity to their flavors. Next: when you bring a bowl of Pho to the table it should be preceded by a dish of different types of herbs to complement that particular type of Pho. They don't do that here. Your soup comes with a few bean sprouts sprinkled in and a few other greens already in the soup and wilted. They give you a tiny dish with two slices of jalapeño peppers and a sliver of lime that you can barely get two drops of juice out of. Now for the really bad: since this restaurant realizes they are the only Vietnamese place in town or for many miles around their price points are anywhere from 3 to 4 dollars higher than comparable restaurants in the Atlanta or Houston area. My suggestion: I hope they take a hard look at what they're doing and make some changes before some Vietnamese family from Atlanta or Houston visits Hilton Head and realizes the potential gold mine that is available for them. One of the better small Atlanta or Houston Vietnamese restaurants would have the potential to put this place out of business. That's a shame because they seem like really nice people and they do work very hard at what they do. But in my opinion they just forgot to keep to their roots and do the food as authentic as possible. I wish them well. read more

Pho was really good. The combination broke rice plate was really good too. The soft spring roll was okay. I think they pre rolled them ahead of time. I personally don't like it when they are pre rolled. The food portions are smaller then what I'm use to receiving at Vietnamese cuisine, but overall 4/5. Also kitchen closes at 8:30 which in my opinion I think is really early, however, we will be back when in town. read more
