Fully enjoyed lunch here. Contrary to what Google said, they don't have an alcohol license yet but don't mind if you bring in your own. Fresh spring rolls were delicious, they could use a little more flavor, maybe a little spice in the peanut sauce but we added siracha and perfect. We had the vermicelli bowl with pork and spring rolls. I love this dish and haven't found it here like it was in Northern Virginia. This one is very good. Husband had shaken beef and rice and it was also delicous. Service was great and they checked to assure everything was ok. We don't often say we will be excited to return but we said that today. It was great to find a place close to home with fresh spring rolls with shrimp and pork (A3, $9.50) or vegetarian (A4, $9.50) So many places only have them fried. Hubby and I split shrimp Spring Rolls and Shaken Beef Tenderloin with Fried Rice plate (C11, $19.50). So good and meat was so tender. First off all, the two reviews that were one star does not make sense. This is an authentic Vietnamese restaurant. Majority of the food is Vietnamese so I don't know where someone would get new "Thai." We only got the pho as my wife wanted some since we didn't have much time to eat on the drive back to Charleston. The pho was delicious and it fed my wife and I both surprisingly. Place is very clean and well kept not like a lot of your typical Vietnamese spots. The service was great and even though we weren't there for rush hour, I am sure they are capable. Take it from a Vietnamese that this is the spot to swing by if you want some authentic Vietnamese food! Is it the best from all the Vietnamese places I have eaten at and even at my own house? We stopped in for a bowl of pho on this chilly, cloudy day. Oh my, Viet Kitchen exceeded my expectations. The chicken breast pho was out of this world. My friend enjoyed her vegetarian pho as well. The fresh herbs, bean sprouts lime and jalapenos were plentiful. The bowls of pho were quite generous. I brought some home, but my husband ate it before I could put it in the fridge! My son and I came for a Labor Day lunch we got combination pho, crispy egg rolls and white rice. The egg rolls were so good. My son is very picky with food and he loved them. Definitely NOT authentic Vietnamese. Cooked by Chinese and serving it up to southerners as "Vietnamese." Also you're lucky if you find a couple of pieces of chicken in the fried rice. I ordered The grilled pork vermicelli bowl. I was initially disappointed because it did not have many of the ingredients that I was used to seeing. The manager was very understanding and brought out some crushed peanuts, fresh basil, and pickled carrots. When these were added the The flavor of the dish was off the charts. Vegetable rolls were good. I also had the vegetable bowl with noodles. The vegetables were very fresh and good, but there was little, if any , seasoning. After I " doctored it up" with the sauce from the vegetable rolls, some hot sauce, soy and hoisin sauce it was pretty good! My guy said that the beef in his noodle bowl also was without any apparent seasoning. We aren't opposed to trying it again, maybe choosing something different ? read more
