Saigon Basil is definitely the most legit Vietnamese restaurant I've ever been to. They have over 200 items on their menu, which made it a bit difficult to finally settle on a dish. After a quick review of all of the amazing options and realizing that this was my first time here, I decided to order the #1. Pho Dac Biet (Special Pho), with rare steak, well done brisket, flank, and beef meat ball. I omitted the tendon and tripe. As an appetizer, we ordered #179. Goy Cuon Chay: Vegetable Spring Rolls wrapped in rice paper with tofu & vegetables, served with peanut sauce. Two rolls for $6.95. These are good-sized rolls that contain lettuce, carrots, wood ear mushrooms, tofu, and rice noodles. They are served whole, but I cut mine in half and plated it that way for the camera (see photo). (As we say in YES, the camera eats first!) The peanut sauce has that hoison flavor that you would typically find in a Vietnamese peanut sauce, which I absolutely adore. It was a yummy start to the meal. Now, let's move on to the main star of the event, the pho. It was the most flavorful and tasty bowl of pho I've ever had. I was going to take a picture of it, but it just looked like your standard bowl of pho. I wish I had because it was that good. I'm not sure if I got all of the meats it was supposed to come with. Regardless, I was very happy with my bowl. Lastly, it was recommended to try the Cafe Sua Da: Vietnamese coffee with milk, and I'm so glad I did. It's served with a phin filter full of coffee grounds and brewed directly over condensed milk. Once it's fully brewed, you can mix the coffee and milk to your liking and pour over ice. It was super delicious and a great little pick-me-up for the rest of the day. The service was great. Our server was very kind and friendly. The food was delicious and super satisfying. Ive been here several times and this was by far the worst service we have ever had. Waited for 30 minutes, after we got seated. Waitstaff just standing around behind the counter. Finally the manager came over to take our order...he was not happy. A waiter serving water blatently ignored our empty glasses several times as he walked by filling nearby tables. Been seeing this on Yelp as one of the best in the area so we decided to try the lunch specials. We ordered the Mongolian Beef & Curry Chicken. Both were pretty basic as far as flavor and presentation. The egg drop soup had too much going on. We also got the crab cheese wontons and those were super stale and hard to eat. The service was decent and it was very slow at the time we went in which was about 2pm. Very clean. I got lemon chicken with tofu and without warning the meal was very spicy. Their cooks and wait staff were smoking just outside the establishment. I was misgendered and the waiter walked off when I tried to correct him, and I was wearing a dress with lipstick on (pretty obvious). Finally the price I paid was not what was listed on the menu - but they do say in (very) fine print at the bottom that their menu prices are subject to immediate change. read more

Came here after a super late night of drinking for some hot soupy pho. Definitely hit the spot and was pretty good. I got the medium size and it was a pretty big bowl. They have an xl size as an option as well if you're feeling super hungry and a small as well. Got spring rolls and egg rolls as appetizers. Never seen a place put noodles with the egg rolls, so it was pretty cool to see cause that could've been a meal itself. Service was good and fast. This is the best restaurant for Pho. My husband and I have tried so many places and always come back to Saigon Basil. It's the best comfort food year round. They have other amazing options as well. The staff is always friendly and efficient. We love that we can be in and out if we want. They recently remodeled the restaurant as well and it's been beautifully upgraded! If you are looking for some delicious Vietnamese food in generous portions I would definitely recommend Saigon Basil! I would personally say one of the better options when you are feeling hungry in the Northglenn area. One of my favorite go-to dishes here is the Saigon Basil Appetizer (#92 on the menu, $29 for this plate). A huge plate loaded with a variety of tasty food that you can wrap in rice paper or lettuce wraps. Comes with soft shell crab, bbq pork, chicken, fried shrimp paste, egg rolls, noodles, and a good variety of greens. Easily sharable among a group of people! I usually like to get a small pho to complement the appetizer. I've tried a good variety of options here, from the combo rice plate, seafood options, stir-fry noodles - Almost every option didn't disappoint in terms of value, taste, and quantity. You can easily feed a family here for less than $50. I would definitely would recommend giving this restaurant a try! read more

Saigon Basil was DELICIOUS. We stop by here pretty often when I'm the area and I could be wrong but I think their portion sizes got a lot larger recently. The Com Dac Biet had an amazing selection of food items. I could've gone without the grilled chicken as it was slightly dry but the grilled pork certainly more than made up for it. Every bowl of pho comes with decent portions of meat and noodles, and the broth is so good I could just drink it in a mug (I may or may not do this when I get takeout...no judgement). If you're not feeling soup, go for the combination fried rice. The fried rice is huge, the rice is cooked to perfection, and the shrimp/beef/pork/egg is round of the perfect dish. Loved it. Seafood hot pot in a tangy sweet and sour soup. This was really good too. They bring out a burner and the soup is boiling in front of you. This place is STILL great even a year later. The Pho grew on me and has become my favorite Pho. I've ordered from various places. Saigon Basil is still the best I've had so far. The portions are generous. Way more generous than other Pho places. I always get the rice plate with meat, chicken, porkchop, shrimp, and egg on top. As well as 3 spring rolls. Their Summer Rolls (rice paper, not fried) is amazing too. Most places skimp and stuff it with noodles and 2 small shrimp. These are LOADED with 4 shrimp AND slices of thin meat. All of this is the same price or less, when compared to other Pho places. My go to when I'm not lazy. It's worth the 15 minute drive for me. read more

Finally tried Saigon Basil and it did not disappoint. The ambience leaves something to be desired but that's not what matters here. They're menu is so vast and it was so hard to make a decision but we had some friends who have been there before guide us. The fan favs were the crab Rangoon and diy shrimp spring rolls. They were both delicious and super fun to make at the table. As for the entrees we shared the ginger fried catfish and it was one of the most unique and delicious things I've ever tasted. 10/10 would recommend. It is also huge, we were a group of 6 and all shared it (among other things) and all got a pretty decent portion. It's a must try! Another huge plus was how cheap they're drinks were $4 for domestic and $6 for imported beers. You rarely see that anywhere anymore and it was awesome. The Sapporo really hit the spot on top of everything else. The staff were also super attentive and continuously checked up on us to clear plates and refill waters. I also LOVED how many fish and veggie options they had for all my non meat eaters. There wasn't just 1-2 options for us, but pages and pages to choose from.
