Ordered lamb kabob plate 22$, fried 5$, lentil soup 5$, & plain steak Philly sub 15$. Total on Uber eats was 53.80$. The lamb was BURNT, steak Philly was raw and mushy, lentil soup cup was 3 tablespoons of soup in it. I reported it through app and was only given 23$ back. This is why I cancelled uber eats and will dispute the charge. Never again will I order from this restaurant. This is why we can't support all business for bad product and services. read more

My hubby, sister, and I all ordered delivery from Sahara on a Wednesday night. We all ordered gyro sandwiches and shared fries and hummus The sandwiches were pretty good and I was impressed with how tender the meat was. The fries were your standard fried potatoes but were the perfect complement to the sandwiches. Everything was going well until we moved on to the hummus... then it all went downhill. The hummus was flavorless and the pita bread was so hard I could literally bang it on the edge of the table without it breaking. If you are eating here most definitely skip it and order another appetizer. read more

This the worst restaurant ever! If you want to eat, have good time, or ... just stay away of them. The manager is super rude, the place is dirty, the food is expensive compared to what they provide. The manager is ready to start a fight with you once you step in. They are understaffed, perhaps since they are thrifty and terrible, so the manager is the cook, and the waitress. I came in one night last week to buy some food because everything else was closed and my phone was dead. The Philly cheesesteak is good but the macaroni and cheese was stale. The noodles tasted stale and it lacked flavor. I do recommend their Philly cheesesteaks cause they're not that expensive if you're just looking for something less than $10 to eat. They do make their food to order though so it takes a minute and I don't think they take Apple Pay. read more

A bit of an odd find, but overall pretty good to satisfy a middle eastern craving. The restaurant itself seems to be multi-faceted, as it seems to also be DaVinci Pizza as well as a fried chicken spot. That in mind, the middle eastern sampler I received was nicely authentic: solid falafel, good grape leaves, and very tasty hummus. I would avoid the chicken shawarma, it comes in more of a tortilla-like flatbread and has very little garlic sauce . When walking in, you wouldn't expect the place to be a newly opened restaurant. It has a jersey diner feel to it as you enter. Very simple and quiet place, that is still trying to be known. The chef is this really nice yemeni, that does a great job of letting you know what is great on the menu. I ordered the Tajine, which is a Moroccan dish that has a slight citrus flavor which is balance by the salty flavor of the olives. It was served with 2-3 chunks of lamb (easily could be shared among two) and a nice serving of rice. This is definitely a place, I would come back to. They also have home made baklava as well as other middle eastern desserts and pastries. If you are in the area, and want to grab a quick meal this is a great spot to either sit down or take it togo. read more

We've been to Richmond for atleast 4 times at this point and hands down this is the best food place we've eaten in months let alone Richmond. The place is nice and clean and the hosts are super warm. Maryam greeted us with a big smile as soon as we stepped in and gave us recommendation about, what to order... we went by her words and oh my; we didn't regret a single bite of anythjng we ate there. First time here was amazing. My friend originally ordered and brought it home and the food looked so good. The way that he ate his food made me very anxious to try it. So I'm here ordering and I decide to get the Falafel with rice and may I say it was the best combination of flavors I've ever experienced. The falafel is a vegan meal (in my eyes ) made of chickpeas, cucumbers and a lot of other great things. The meal was better complimented by rice vs the fries because it made it a wholesome meal. If you love flavor, spice, and a great texture of healthy meal that you wouldn't normally eat, that's the place. I'm sure you will feel the same and want to return. read more

Oh my God! This was the worst restaurant I have ever seen. Dirty place, expensive, rude manager, inaccessible. First we couldn't find it since the information on google map is misleading. You can't find parking nearby. Then, after these many problem you reach the messy place you find it messy and dirty. If I could give one star I would. Did an online lunch order from this restaurant using Foodify.com all sandwiches were supposed to come w/ fries and be labeled w/ names. None of this happened. No fries, all sandwiches wrapped in foil with writing on the foil in bright orange highlighter, impossible to read. Sauce and who knows what else was leaking out everywhere. This place is outstanding! This is only my second Yelp review ever (need to do this more often). My only other review was for a personal favorite restaurant which may now soon become Sahara Grill. The lamb dishes are particularly excellent. I had the lamb mendy which was juicy and flavorful; one of the best meals I've ever had. Included with it was complimentary lentil soup which was equally delicious. The portion size was large (had plenty left over). For only $14 it is hard to imagine a better deal anywhere. The service was friendly and fast. It was a true pleasure dining at Sahara Grill. The cuisine is North African/Mediteranean. This place is truly a hidden gem. Check it out! read more

Today was my first time there. I was early do a medi-pedi so I decided to get me something to eat. At first I ordered chicken kabobs with rice and a Sprite. I continued looking through the menu and decided to order the gyro with fries and hand made lemonade. When my food came they still had not given me my lemonade. They put the ketchup in a little saucer. I asked for more ketchup when I finished the first one and still no lemonade. I did not get my lemonade until I was finish with my food. While at the convention center near VCU, my friends and I had supper here and were delighted with the delicious food and wonderful kindness of the owner and staff. We loved it so much we took 2 more friends there for lunch the next day.They loved the food and the owner, too! The food is fresh, light, seasoned perfectly, so very tasty, and very satisfying while not making you feel you ate too much. All meals are very reasonably priced. I loved the chicken shawerma (SP?), which I got with a salad with a wonderful Mediterranean dressing, and the foul was great---seasoned so well! Totally recommend Sahara! read more

If I could give zero stars I would. As someone who loves middle eastern food I was extremely disappointed after ordering a simple tabbouleh salad and fries for a late night dinner. The salad had little to no parsley, no flavor, and the bulgar wheat was RAW. I took one bite and realized that regardless of how hungry I was I wasn't going risk chipping a tooth. On top of all of this I had to wait an hour for my food to be delivered, I would think with an hour someone could at least prepare a salad. Will not be ordering again. read more

Worst experience ever for late night dining. I ordered a classic deli sub where the description clearly states what comes on the sandwich from their menu. When I received the sandwich at 2 am for $22, the delivery person was an older female who seemed in a rush. I open the aluminum foil to find a hard toasted sub with 3 pieces of turkey, large amounts of lettuce and mayo and nothing like what the menu describes. I called several times with no response. I finally reach the establishment to only be told there was nothing they could do because the delivery person has not returned. I then drove to the establishment for a refund. I walk in at 230am to a minor child sitting at the empty bar on a lab top. A lady walks in from another entrance and I told her I was the one who called. She returns with a gentleman, who asks what's wrong or what happen and I explain and ask for a refund with the uneaten food in the original form. He tells me that he can give me half of my money back because he can't be responsible for this mistake because the delivery person who collected my money hadn't return yet. Never ever again. Fabulous Baba ghanoush and homemade hummus - make sure to ask for the spicy sauce on the side, hot and delicious! The grilled lamb/kabob was so flavorful - definitely worth getting it again. We were having a International Food Festival in my community we needed Mediterranean dish. The food was outstanding we order Lamb Mendy with Saffron rice w/cranberry and Fatuous Salad also Tabbouleh Salad. Terrible food quality. Lived in the Middle East for 22 years and this is not even close to the real taste.The lamb I ordered cake burnt. The only decent part of the restaurant is the waiter that was kind. But when I told him about the food quality he just remained quiet and did not say anything. I ended up paying 17 dollars but they were not worth. With 3 dollars I can even make more decent food. It was an insult not getting apologies and being obligated to pay for such a bad food. read more
