Amazing food I was craving a very flavorful dish and they exceeded my expectations. Very nice environment as well

Inside where we sat

I picked up the bottled yogurt drink. Not sweet as Indian yogurt lassi but If you don't mind not bad. Spouse got a can of Pepsi. My main order is the mantu $11.99 and spouse ordered juicy kabob $12.99. Mantu is delicious so is spouse's dish. The hot sauce was on the side for the Mantu. I used very little. Everything was wonderful. Loved every bite. Got the Firni for dessert. Very good. Got a couple to take home. Please go and enjoy. A very pleasant experience. Reply the best in the area. Equal to what we got in northern va.

Soooo so good! Although we had some difficulty with Grub Hub not delivering the order correctly the restaurant's customer service was amazing and refreshing! I haven't seen customer service like this in a long time. I believe it was the owner or manager but they remade our beef Mantu order because the delivery person from grub hub forgot the Mantu. The owner wanted to make sure we had a freshly made Mantu and was even willing to drop it off to us himself, but my husband went to pick it up and owner gave us an extra baklava to make it right. The Mantu was so delicate and delicious, It was my first time trying it. I loved it! Very tender and moist. It says spicy but I didn't think it was. The other food we ordered was the rice pudding which was very tasty. Everything we had was delicious and we will order again!

Strange consistency falafel

I would not return. I was happy to watch as the two cooks formed falafels in front of us, thin disks of falafel, then drop them in the fryer. Unfortunately what came out (see picture) was a poor tasting, and even worse texture, mess. The inside of the falafels were between the consistency of fudge and cake frosting, and they tasted pretty bad We also had a huge piece of baklava that was inedible. It tasted stale and as though it had been stored next to something savory.

Chicken rice kabob

walked it and ordered chicken and rice kabob . food took a bit longer than expected but it was worth the wait . bathroom had a shower in it it was a little odd but regardless , it didn't take away how delicious the food tasted . will definitely be back .

Dessert Custard
Rose J.

Delicious food with Decor to match. Appetizers light and refreshing. I loved all the dumplings as well as the yogurt dip . I even use the dip on the kebabs. All the kebabs come sizzling on a hot plate and large portions enough to feed 3 to 4 people. My favorite thing with a custard for dessert so light creamy top with a nice cranberry glaze. I also really enjoyed the baklava. I must try. When you come to eat here think Italy no rush food coming out at a little bit of a slower pace. Plan to stay for a while and just enjoy the experience and not be rushed. I would give this experience about 2 to 3 hours to truly sit back enjoy all the dishes and the cultural experience. You don't wanna let the rush of the experience allow you to miss the true essence of it. Tootles and enjoy

17. Chicken Kabob

Omg so I just moved close by this place and I'm afghan so when I say this place hits home, it was bussin! One of the best feelings receiving an authentic hot meal that just satisfies all your cravings! The customer service was so genuine and sweet, the place is so nice and clean compared to some of the raggedy ass places in rva but if you want authentic afghan food 100% RECOMMEND!

Very good kebabs. We tried lamb and chicken on rice. Both were tender and delicious. Casual. Would come here again!

This is one of the Desi restaurants in this area. Like other reviews, if the Restaurant is empty,…read morethat is a red flag. Of course, most of the time, the restaurant will be empty. I regularly buy food from all the Desi restaurants in this area. I buy here for change and order Beef Biryani once in a while. Last time, a few weeks ago, I bought Beef Biryani to go. At home, when I tried to eat the Biryani, the meat was hard like charcoal. I was very polite, called them and I told them, I did not ask for any refund, but what I asked that lady to let me know which day they will cook fresh biryani, so if i wanted to buy biryani i will come on that day, usually butcher shop, fresh produce grocery shop they have certain days of the week where they get fresh produce, meat etc. But that lady was very arrogant, as if they were the only people cooking biryani in this world, and she said it depends on cook, meat might have been cooked 2 or 5 or 7 days no certain time frame, then i asked her that is Ok at least tell me while ordering so I will decide if i wanted to buy or pass on to next time. I am the one who was supposed to be upset, but she was very arrogant; I don't need to talk about Biryani, as she has the copyright for Biryani and said she will not know, only the chef knows ever after I politely asked to verify with the chef and tell me, she was angry. I made a mistake; I should have taken the biryani with the meat and reported to the county health inspectors. They should raid this restaurant, issue a citation, and shut it down. This type of attitude is not going to help. You can see relatively new Desi Bites, Market Cafe, and many other Indian restaurants, mostly crowded and Al-Medinah Restaurant is mostly empty, which speaks volumes

Tulsi feels extravagant and upscale from the moment you enter. The lighting was lovely, each of the different lamps exquisitely lining the walls provided a golden hue throughout the space. We were seated immediately with no reservations. The atmosphere was quiet and cozy, great for couples to catch up and talk about their days or get to know one another. Our server was attentive and polite. He gave us time to peruse the menu at our leisure, while he brought out the gratis before-the-meal appetizer. It was like a crispy naan with three distinctly different sauces. It really was quite delicious. I ordered the Chicken Konkani and my partner had the Chicken Curry. As connoisseurs of a great many Indian restaurants, we quite enjoyed the entrees at Tulsi. I savored the coconut creaminess of the Konkani. I also tried my partner's curry, and it had a rich aromatic flavor as well. We didn't try dessert because we were simply too stuffed by the end. The choices were almost tempting enough to persuade me, but we refrained. Tulsi is for lovers, just like Virginia, so we were in great company. I wholeheartedly recommend giving this spot a chance. We will definitely be back to partake in the fine dining experience on offer here.

Picked my sons up....they didn't wanna hang with me, even a little. SOOOO I went to dinner at Tulsi. BY MYSELF The place would be great for a date or a little romance. The ambiance was a lil sultry as the sun went down. The amount of food they give you is substantial. I had the lamb tandoori it came out sizzling like fajitas or the east(I'm sorry if that was racist) The naan was delish But the STAR was the lemon-drop martini I had. Bartender must have saw, me a solo diner that had been abandoned by her own younglings and felt for me because that thang was STRONG and I appreciated it. I was a little tipsy(I don't usually drink so it did not take a lot) it was cool because my big one will drive. At the end I had plenty of leftovers that my sons will get NONE of. It was enjoyable. Will recommend

A bit spicy for my taste. But I am not Indian and didn't grow up with spicy food. We love the masala dosa. The one filed with potatoes. And the dessert. Ras Mali It is welled packed for take out. But I had to open and take a bite of the maslas dosa they pack it well. The dosa is folded and in the take out container and the potatoes are in a plastic container to keep separate. I broke off a small portion and put some of the potatoes on the wrap. Excellent. A bit spicy but delicious. The picked up dosa is pictured here.

The food was a solid 4/5 only missing the mark as the garlic naan was soggy (not from travel because we live super close to the location) seemed too oily/greasy which was a bummer as the taste was spot on so garlicky! Entree's: butter chicken 5/5 spicy and well seasoned probably some of the best we've had. Shrimp biryani 4/5 same very well seasoned and spicy (medium spice is spicy but loved it) and a great portion size with ample small shrimp and ginger chicken 4/5 smaller in portions but super tender and well seasoned. The rice and all the sauces were good also. The veggie samosas 5/5 which were huge and they give you 5! Yes 5 for $7 (via UberEats). A good mix of items to try and we were very pleased and will definitely return! Yum!
