The lean brisket was solid, a little peppery on the bark. I'd have liked it to be a little smokier and the bark a little more flavorful but that's the only complaint you will get in this review. The Dr Pepper sticky ribs were phenomenal! Sweet, smokey dessert like meaty goodness. It was almost pornographic what I did to those bones. The smokey beans lived up to that name for sure and the green chili corn casserole was unique and delicious. This is a definitely a place I will repeat when I am back in Lafayette.

First, let's talk the food. As a native Texan, I have a certain taste for real BBQ. And here in Lafayette, this is as close to the genuine article as you can find. The place feels like an authentic Texas or Carolina-style barbecue joint, complete with animal skins and hides, farm tools, and branding irons for decor. A roaring fireplace is in the room, albeit here in the heart of southern Louisiana, it will probably never be used. A tv is available for those anxious for entertainment with their meal. My only complaint about this place are the hours. Sadly, it is only open during a very specific time slot and that is at lunch time, Mondays thru Fridays, for about two hours or so.
