Don't get it twisted, the hours are still limited but I can see why. With the constant line they had from opening til I walked out, I am sure they don't have a lot left toward the end of lunch. I stopped in here last Saturday at 10:30 am and when I pulled into the parking lot, I was underwhelmed as Blanchard's is in a strip mall between a Subway and a donut shop. "How good can strip mall BBQ be?" was my initial thought but the line of 10 people waiting to get in that early eased my thinking. To answer my own question, strip mall BBQ can apparently be great! I got a 2-meat plate with the brisket, Dr Pepper glazed sticky ribs, green chili corn casserole and smokey beans. As you are ordering the brisket they ask if you want it sliced or chopped, and if you want lean, fatty or burnt ends. I knew it would be good then. The lean brisket was solid, a little peppery on the bark. I'd have liked it to be a little smokier and the bark a little more flavorful but that's the only complaint you will get in this review. The Dr Pepper sticky ribs were phenomenal! Sweet, smokey dessert like meaty goodness. It was almost pornographic what I did to those bones. The smokey beans lived up to that name for sure and the green chili corn casserole was unique and delicious. This is a definitely a place I will repeat when I am back in Lafayette. read more

It's good BBQ. I can't honestly say that it matches the price. The price reflects a full service restaurant, not a wait in line, order at the counter experience. It is a small place in a strip mall, so seating is limited. That being said the last time I was there, there was quite a line, so obviously people believe that it is worth it. Take your own data. First started going here and it was good for one thing but overtime as the prices increased I know the quality of the barbecue has gone down. While the service is OK I feel like they give this sense of superiority over everyone else but it's just another one of these millennial hipster places that stuck in the 2010s while the gas stations down the street serve some of the best barbecue (the Chevron on Kaliste Saloom) and for a killer price. So yeah, this place was nice, but it's kind of gone downhill when the prices went up. read more

The brisket was sweet, smoky, and melt-in-your-mouth tender; the pork was rich and flavorful; and the ribs were simply outstanding. I picked up two pounds each of brisket and pork, plus a generous helping of ribs. The team kindly packed everything for my flight, and even TSA couldn't help but smile when they saw what I was carrying. They understood, Blanchard's is worth it. Absolutely delicious. No idea why they stay open until 2:30 pm when they always runs out of meat before 1 pm. Got there at 12:50 today, and again, "out of meat, just have sides and chicken salad". And they for some bizarre reason interpret this to mean they're killing it and are rude if you say anything about it. Just do us a favor and close at 1p, or make enough food for to serve until 2:30pm. You'd have more satisfied customers and a much more profitable last 1.5 hrs of service every day. I visited Lafayette for the weekend with my person I've was craving bbq for a few weeks, I told him I wanted to find a bbq place while in town!! I noticed they closed at 230 and thought that was too early and the closing time ALMOST detoured me away(bc we can eat and was only be hungry again later that day) the few pictures that came up looked delicious and I was hoping it tasted just as GOOD! Some of the absolute best smoked meat between Memphis, Gulf Shores and Houston. It's all been finger licking desicious. No napkins required as you'll suck the juices off your fingers. Do yourself a favor and go order the Poutine Dream appetizer. Just do it. At only $7 and large and filling enough to share between two or three, it is so worth every delicious bite. Although debris covered fries aren't a new thing, they are new-ish to me. I never really gave them much thought until I dated a guy who absolutely loved them. That guy is long gone, but my appreciation for the intro to this dish remains. Now when I see them on the menu I usually give them a try. This has to be one of the best versions of the dish I have ever tried. Hand cut fries, chopped brisket, brisket gravy and queso fresco. Absolutely delicious. I also tried the Brisket plate with the smoked potato salad and green chile corn casserole. My favorite of the sides was the green chile corn casserole. The brisket had a nice smoky flavor and was tender and delicious. I can't wait to try the pulled pork next time, but it'll be hard to not order the brisket again. I know great BBQ places should not even need sauce and this is a great BBQ joint but I love to try out homemade sauces in every bbq place I go to, so I did. Blanchard's has some interesting ones: Ancho Espresso-rich and smoky and quite different. Good though. Creole Mustard-tangy mustard-y and my favorite! I'm a mustard freak lol. Rootbeer-sweet and really tastes like rootbeer! Prob great on ribs! Chipotle Hot-Very smoky and very hot! Loved this one too! If you go for no reason but the Poutine Dream, you'll be happy. Worst service I have ever had in my life. Never will I use this bbq place again. The manger is extremely rude and talks down to customers. I would not recommend catering or supporting people who are rude and talk down to customers especially for events for EMS and nurses. Just tried to order catering. She got mad because I didn't understand their catering menu and told me to read. Receipts were not given. Pork was not separate from other meat. All meat is in one pan. Decided to give this a try for an impromptu lunch, greeted immediately and the customer service was great. I had the ribs which were smoked well, however lacked flavor which was a bit disappointing. The sausage flavor was ok. As for the sides the baked beans, and corn were very tasty, the Mac and cheese again something missing with the flavor. The smoked flavor and cooking techniques are great, if they can get the flavor profile better this would definitely be a 4 to 5. read more

Let me start off by saying this is the best brisket I've had outside of Texas...and I've had my fair share. I have been wanting to try this place since they opened up and finally had a chance to go this week. I had the brisket poutine and it was 5 stars!! The brisket was moist and very flavorful, the fries cooked to perfection, the gravy smoking hot and not too salty and the cheese on top was the icing on the cake. My wife tried the turkey with a side of mac & cheese and chipotle slaw. The turkey was moist and cooked well, but it was a bit too salty for our liking. The chipotle slaw was very good, but the mac & cheese could have been a little better. It was lacking flavor and a little overcooked. The staff who greeted us at the door were very friendly and willing to explain the menu. We weren't able to go into the restaurant due to the COVID-19 restrictions, but we can't wait to come back and try what else they have to offer! read more
