Super delicious and well-sauced wings, fries and chicken cracklin', this late-night spot scratches the itch when you're hangry and just need something to fill your belly. We dined in on a Friday night and although the place was a little shabby and under-staffed, the wings were dripping with flavor and heat. The wing flavors we ordered were Sum Nasty, Buffalo, KK and TLC--all were delicious but we enjoyed the last two the most! That said, although the food was hot and delicious, there was a 30 min wait time in an otherwise empty restaurant. I also have to mention that the place could use a little tune-up--even with all the dim lighting, it's easy to see that there was not much cleaning or renovations done to make this establishment look presentable. It's clear that KOK's building used to be a German beer hall and not much restoration has been done to gut out the place and make it more appealing to diners. I also think that the wing sauces should feature a description of all the unique flavor variations so that customers understand what they are ordering. With all that in mind, I would still order takeout from this place because the wings are solid and the portion sizes are huge. I'm also excited to try their other menu items like the Southwest egg rolls or the mozzarella sticks. 6/10 I recommend getting takeout or hitting up Ubereats!

More like 3.5. Sauce and seasoning were delicious. We order extra crispy, and that was not the case. Our fries were cold but still good. The restroom is located outside up the stairs, which was inconvenient, because of the rain and thunder. Joanne( works up front) was very polite, attentive, and delightful. P.S- the front door has a handle for pulling, but you have to push.

Email I received from the business

Firstly, the food is incredible. Just order it to go don't waste your time on this environment. My email correspondence with this company basically explains all the issues. Avoid these small mom and pops that treat their people as bad as corporations!

Let me first say that my daughter and her husband really love this place. Let me also say that my husband really enjoyed his wings. I also want to be sure to say that the young ladies who helped us were very nice. Now that those things have been stated, the place itself needs to not only be redone, and by redone I mean at least patch up the holes in the ceiling. I'm pretty sure I saw a lizard trying to crawl down out of one of them. It desperately needs to be cleaned. My shoes were sticking to the floor as we walked, I put my arm on the half wall thing near the register where you order and my arm stuck to it. We go outside to eat and all the tables have food and crumbs on them. It's just simply not clean. At least make it presentable. I will say the outside with the games and stuff provided is cute and enjoyable. As for my food, my fries were great, but my boneless wings were cold and old, the buffalo sauce tastes like salty vinegar. I also ordered the fried bone in wings with their regular seasoning/dry rub and they were ok. Just ok. That about sums it up. I wouldn't choose to go back to this place, but I wouldn't not go if this is where my family or friends wanted to eat.

I've passed by this place and never thought to stop by until I ran across a story on IG about the owners. I'm always down to support a black owned business so, I made sure to stop by while in town for the July 4th holiday. Man! I have been missing out on some good food!! I ordered the fish sliders and they were delicious!! Next time I'm trying them fully loaded. The restaurant definitely reminds me of wing joints here in Atlanta. Good vibes, drinks and food!

Huge RAT in here running around the entire restaurant and climbing up walls. Got a refund immediately. Never coming back. I knew this place was dirty but I never realized it was that bad.

The food is pretty good, I liked the egg rolls & the sauces. Although my fish sliders were tasty and fresh, they didn't have any sauce of them so I'd say they were a bit dry. The daiquiri (Kaptain Clinton) is delicious, raspberry flavor. Good stuff. Also, it's $20 to park on Sunday funday so good thing I didn't come for just chicken

Stopped by on New Years after lunch. It wasn't busy which was a plus. It was our first time here so the young lady at the register was patient with us and advised of the most popular flavors and such. I got the sampler platter and hubs got the boneless wings. My sampler platter was really good. The wings are meaty, I got the sum nasty sauce and I might not get that again bc I wasn't big on it but it wasn't bad. The overall stand out was the fried fish. Omg the fish was crispy and fresh. That is a star right there. The boneless wings are also big and meaty. Hubs was full off 5 wings so he didn't try the other flavor he got but he really liked the ones he had. The young lady also recommended the drink I got (KOB) and it was really good. I will take a trip back to Lafayette for this soon!

I visited the KOK booth at the Acadiana Eats Festival. There were a number of restaurants participating in this particular Festival. So in all honesty I don't think you could really go wrong. Well I decided to visit their booth instead and I'll be honest definitely not disappointed. I ended up getting the wings with seasoned fries. The wings were well seasoned and perfectly cooked. The fries were pretty flavorful had a nice little sweet heat going on. I will definitely visit the stand-alone location on University in the future..

I've been hearing so many wonderful things about KOK Wings, so on a Saturday afternoon we decided to give it a whirl! I LOVE wings--one of my favorite foods. My boyfriend and I had two different opinions about our experience. We tried three different flavors--KK, Sum Nasty, & Parmesan. While the wings were average, there was nothing impressive and the flavors left much to be desired. We also tried the loaded fries, which cost quite a bit for fries with a drizzle of sauce. Our total was $30. The restaurant felt very dirty and grimy--the floors & tables were sticky. The bathroom was disgusting and needed some maintenance. The lady working the register was very kind and helped us pick flavors. I don't plan on trying KOK again, but my boyfriend says he will 100% be back!

Visited the food truck while it was in Baton Rouge. I ordered the personal platter in order to try a few things. It consisted of a piece of fried fish, 5 wings, 5 fried shrimp, fries, and a roll. I also got the KOK punch to drink. The service was good. The young lady at the window was very friendly. She answered all questions with no hesitation and explained the sauce flavors. She did say it would be a 15-20minute wait as all food was cooked fresh to order. The punch was good very sweet. A little sweet for my taste but she did tell me that ahead of time. I also enjoyed the platter. My only complaint is the fish. It's not catfish it's swai which I'm not a fan of. I wouldn't order the fish again. Can't wait for the Baton Rouge location to open so I can try other items. I've heard the chicken sandwich is very good.

These had to be the crispiest wings i've ever had in my life!!! The wings and fries were both seasoned well and tasted amazing. The service was good. When we went it was slow, but we waited about 20-25 minutes for our order. Definitely worth the wait.

Typically order KOK on door dash, but this particular day I came in to order takeout. The service was very good. The servers made recommendations and were very friendly. Even while simultaneously working the bar and takeout booth, I didn't wait long. The food is fresh and hot. I highly recommend the honey drip shrimp. I don't eat bread, but their rolls are irresistible to me!

We had chicken and sausage gumbo, Pepper Jack boudin balls, bam bam gator bites and the blackened chicken pasta. The waiter this time was better than the waitress we had last time. He was very attentive and made sure we never had to ask for refills. The appetizers came out fairly normal time-wise I would say. The main portion took a little bit longer than what you're used to at a franchise restaurant but here that's perfectly fine as it's worth the couple extra minutes. The gumbo is perfect(I love when gumbo is not over complicated) I like to add a lil hot sauce to it and it's delicious... only thing is, while they already give generous portions... the cup and the bowl looked exactly the same except I think in the bowl they give you one extra scoop of rice... which would be just fine if it wasn't like $6 more. But still delicious nonetheless. The bam bam gator bites were really good and I highly recommend them. If you like bam bam shrimp you'll love these. The pepper jack boudin balls were good, nothing special but they were definitely worth the try. My co-worker had the blackened chicken pasta and when I asked him how it was he said "dude, it's really good!" lol. The building is pretty unique and they have some outside seating with a massive beautiful tree that over looks the restaurant and takes claim to some of the asphalt in the parking lot lol. But it's a great spot for birthdays, good lunch menu deals, casual date night or if you wanna blow some steam off, they have a little bar in the restaurant as well. Overall, I HIGHLY recommend. I'm from East Texas, so I'm no Cajun/Louisianan but they truly got some good grub here. I'll definitely be coming back several more times when I get the chances. I will warn you, I believe the food is freshly made so when it gets to the table, give it some time to cool off because it comes out HOT.

As I am someone who was in the restaurant when it happened…read more I just think it's funny how you aren't mentioning y'all came in as 6 people and then wanted accommodations for 30 people during one of the busiest times of the night. Or that they argued with the amazing manager for nearly an hour total after being told they couldn't accommodate that size party. They're also leaving out the part where people from their group marched in and seated themselves, stood over occupied tables waiting for guests to leave, insisting the hosts clean the tables, and made the entire restaurant uncomfortable. This had nothing to do with race and everything to do with behavior. Any group acting like that would've gotten the exact same response. In short, do better. Y'all came in and ruined everyone's dinner because y'all don't know how to plan ahead. Stop blaming people for your mistakes and take accountability.

This may have been part of the reason its wasn't all that busy on a Tuesday lunch. Similar to some other restaurants in Louisiana I've visited, they have a side with a bar, to-go area and high tops, and a more family oriented side of the restaurant with a bunch of low top tables. Fried pork rinds are served with every table. They have daily plate lunches and the one day I came it was chicken fried steak. However, it's not usually a good idea to order CFS outside of Texas in my experience. Therefore, I ended up ordering the catfish and shrimp platter, served grilled instead and added a $5 strawberry margarita. The entree comes with a side salad but they only have seelct dressings and none which I would typically order, so i just settled on honey mustard. Margarita- for only $5 it's not bad and comes with either sugar or salt rim Catfish and shrimp platter - seasoned with a blackened seasoning but it wasn't spicy. The catfish filet was small and tasted like it was previously frozen. The shrimp were also small and didn't taste much better. Not sure I'd return if ever in Lafayette, as I was really looking for a more festive environment and more grilled options.
