Service was terrible not helpful at all with suggestions or anything, acted as if she couldn't have manners and understand anything. They don't care about the chicken being cooked with everything seeing the shrimp in my fried rice that had zero flavor Shrimp taste Alrt only seasoning they use is chilli powder and won't give you sauce but urge you to use as much chilli powder as you can

Great tasting food served quick and plenty of it! Ate on mine for 3 days. A little tough to get to but worth the challenge.

The Chime was an absolute highlight! My bartender was fantastic! He was friendly, knowledgeable,…read moreand genuinely great to talk to. He recommended several local brews and food options, and somehow we ended up having one of those conversations that makes you feel like you've known someone longer than five minutes. We talked about traveling, different beers, Louisiana, Ohio, Atlanta, and everything in between. My favorite part of the conversation had to be hearing about the brewery owned by three Japanese women who live in Brazil. That's a story I definitely wasn't expecting when I sat down for a drink! As for the food, it was incredible. I had the seafood gumbo, which came loaded with a crab cluster and crawfish tails, and I also tried the blackened alligator. Both were amazing and full of flavor. The atmosphere was great, the beer selection was excellent, and the service made the whole experience even better. I genuinely can't wait to go back to The Chime! If you're in the area, definitely give this place a try. 6/5 from me!

The taste was still good! I ordered the seafood pasta too but wasn't fond of the fishy smell and taste. The sauce was thin and runny as well. The little French bread that comes with the meal is delicious and I'm not a bread eater! The packaging and service is very safe and clean! Yes, I recommend this place! Cheers!

Responding to Chelsa K.'s 1* review. As I am someone who was in the restaurant when it happened…read more I just think it's funny how you aren't mentioning y'all came in as 6 people and then wanted accommodations for 30 people during one of the busiest times of the night. Or that they argued with the amazing manager for nearly an hour total after being told they couldn't accommodate that size party. They're also leaving out the part where people from their group marched in and seated themselves, stood over occupied tables waiting for guests to leave, insisting the hosts clean the tables, and made the entire restaurant uncomfortable. This had nothing to do with race and everything to do with behavior. Any group acting like that would've gotten the exact same response. In short, do better. Y'all came in and ruined everyone's dinner because y'all don't know how to plan ahead. Stop blaming people for your mistakes and take accountability.

This may have been part of the reason its wasn't all that busy on a Tuesday lunch. Similar to some other restaurants in Louisiana I've visited, they have a side with a bar, to-go area and high tops, and a more family oriented side of the restaurant with a bunch of low top tables. Fried pork rinds are served with every table. They have daily plate lunches and the one day I came it was chicken fried steak. However, it's not usually a good idea to order CFS outside of Texas in my experience. Therefore, I ended up ordering the catfish and shrimp platter, served grilled instead and added a $5 strawberry margarita. The entree comes with a side salad but they only have seelct dressings and none which I would typically order, so i just settled on honey mustard. Margarita- for only $5 it's not bad and comes with either sugar or salt rim Catfish and shrimp platter - seasoned with a blackened seasoning but it wasn't spicy. The catfish filet was small and tasted like it was previously frozen. The shrimp were also small and didn't taste much better. Not sure I'd return if ever in Lafayette, as I was really looking for a more festive environment and more grilled options.

We had chicken and sausage gumbo, Pepper Jack boudin balls, bam bam gator bites and the blackened chicken pasta. The waiter this time was better than the waitress we had last time. He was very attentive and made sure we never had to ask for refills. The appetizers came out fairly normal time-wise I would say. The main portion took a little bit longer than what you're used to at a franchise restaurant but here that's perfectly fine as it's worth the couple extra minutes. The gumbo is perfect(I love when gumbo is not over complicated) I like to add a lil hot sauce to it and it's delicious... only thing is, while they already give generous portions... the cup and the bowl looked exactly the same except I think in the bowl they give you one extra scoop of rice... which would be just fine if it wasn't like $6 more. But still delicious nonetheless. The bam bam gator bites were really good and I highly recommend them. If you like bam bam shrimp you'll love these. The pepper jack boudin balls were good, nothing special but they were definitely worth the try. My co-worker had the blackened chicken pasta and when I asked him how it was he said "dude, it's really good!" lol. The building is pretty unique and they have some outside seating with a massive beautiful tree that over looks the restaurant and takes claim to some of the asphalt in the parking lot lol. But it's a great spot for birthdays, good lunch menu deals, casual date night or if you wanna blow some steam off, they have a little bar in the restaurant as well. Overall, I HIGHLY recommend. I'm from East Texas, so I'm no Cajun/Louisianan but they truly got some good grub here. I'll definitely be coming back several more times when I get the chances. I will warn you, I believe the food is freshly made so when it gets to the table, give it some time to cool off because it comes out HOT.

First Course: We began with the oyster sampler featuring Charbroiled, Bienville, Orleans, and Rockefeller styles. Each had its own unique flavor profile, and together they made a great introduction to the meal. Second Course: A crisp romaine and spring mix salad paired with a crawfish, crab, and corn bisque. The bisque was rich and comforting, perfectly balanced by the freshness of the salad. Main Course Highlights: Almond-crusted paneed chicken finished with roasted red bell pepper aioli. Grilled portabella mushroom stuffed with Gulf blue crab, shrimp, peppers, and spinach, topped with lemon aioli and parmesan. Filet Orleans (which I didn't try since I don't eat beef, but others raved about it). Dessert: The finale was a Cinnamon Roll Bread Pudding drizzled with a decadent sauce -- warm, sweet, and absolutely delicious. Overall, the combination of excellent service, creative dishes, and indulgent dessert made this Yelp Event a true standout.
