I have been going there, on and off, for a number of years seeing Michelle. I was really disappointed with my last service, which I can't say was definitely her fault, but may have been more of a miscommunication on my vision. When I reached out letting her know I was trying to do something a little different and that I was a bit disappointed with my results, she ghosted me. Upon seeing a new stylist, they alerted me that she should have let me know what to expect when trying to bleach your hair when you have permanent black color on it and probably warned me against it. I'm glad I found someone new that I trust & that they were able to fix my hair. The supposed highlights came out really bad & looked strippy/striped, brassy & red. I explicitly said I did not want red so obviously I was not pleased. The work I've seen done at the salon has always been nice but this experience was really disappointing especially because I've always tipped well and been a good client and I feel like I just threw $200 in the garbage... plus the amount of money I had to spend at another salon fixing the hair. I also felt like $100 for a root touch up that didn't even cover all my gray hair was a little much. Overall, disappointing & don't recommend. read more

New salon for me, I am extremely disappointed in the way my hair looks. I asked for a highlight and NO length taken off my hair, I said it several times no length taken off!!!! I came out of there with 3 inches off , no layers, no texture, uneven, and it doesn't blend with the rest of my hair. I have been growing my hair out for over a year and now I am back to square one. This is a pretty new salon on the historic highway (and it is one of many), and it's fantastic! Kristie, the owner, is sweet, energetic and a fabulous stylist. The salon is obviously brand new (you can tell from the sleek stations and decor) and is so cozy. I don't always know what I want to do with my hair, and every time I've asked Kristie to "make me look pretty," she does just that! I've been a regular customer of Rachel's at Sage for going on two years. I love what she does to my hair! She works to accommodate my schedule--even fitting me in on short notice. The salon itself is beautiful--feels like I'm really pampering myself when I go in to get my hair done. All the stylists are friendly and, since I'm a "regular", they stop to chat and check in. My hair is naturally curly, which causes styling nightmares for me. One time when I was seeing Rachel, I asked her about product to enhance curl. She didn't know, so she asked another stylist, Nicole Iles, what she'd recommend. Nicole not only recommended product to me, but she actually gave me an almost full bottle of product so that I could test it out at home and see if I liked it before I bought it. I went to Sage Salon to get an updo for my brother's wedding. The salon was easy to find, the atmosphere was very pleasant and my stylist, Maggie, was lovely! She listened and asked questions, she was very easy to work with, and great to talk with. I don't write negative reviews loosely but this one I needed to say for several reasons. I had an appt with a stylist (April Delozier) I've been going to for many, many years on a Monday. She had moved out of state and flying back to Oregon and scheduling her clients every 6-7 wks crammed into a 1 wk time period. On Sunday I get a text she's running short for time and wants to schedule me now on Sunday, which I was on Mt Hood and couldn't make it so I said I'll see you tomorrow. Shen mentions she's short for time and would be late for my appointment by 30 minutes. Long story short, I was her last appointment before leaving town back to her home in Arizona. Instead of making time for me that evening, I ended up being asked to reschedule with someone I did not know (I said I was uncomfortable with that) and would like to keep my appointment with her and understood that it would be a little later. Then came mass amounts of excuses with well "good luck and sorry it's not just going to work with my schedule". After years of going to this stylist this is the treatment you should expect to receive due to inconvenience to her. Throughout the years I've heard April speak many stories of how "this" client and "that" client were just awful and unrealistic. I recall thinking I've never heard of so many people giving a stylist such grief but now I realize it was likely not them and now I've become the recipient of her inconveniences. This is the treatment you can expect from April Delozier when things don't go as she would like. Further when I called the salon after this perplexing exchange they would not call me back nor would the owner Kristine Cox call me. I explained to the manager, which sounded like a kid right out of high school by the lack of judgement she showed in her words, what had happened. She called me an angry client that I just got fired. In my humble experience a person gets fired for something they did wrong...not because they were an inconvenience to a person who is in the service oriented profession who chooses to not keep her commitments for whatever reason. There is a happy ending to this story however. After about a month of searching and inquiring to others for a stylist that is responsible, capable of reason, doesn't complain endlessly about her family/clients/and the owner of Sage who charges her too much, as well as experienced I found an amazing person who takes time to wash the product completely out of my hair and doesn't use windex on my skin to remove the overlapping color (yes that is what April uses). read more

I was going to sage salon for a year. I was happy with my hairdresser Sammy. But. I called to make appointment with her I was told she left. So they schedule me with Haylie different hairdresser. For 10:00 am. I showed up, Haylie was a no show. All I got was sorry and they schedule me with different hairdresser. For another day, very unprofessional, I was highly disappointed. Unfortunately, I had a verrrry bad experience with this salon. "Unprofessional" doesn't begin to describe this hot mess of a "business". When my regular hairdresser was booked out and I wasn't able to find another hair dresser available at the salon I usually visit, I decided to give Sage a call to explain my one caveat: I have long hair which and a sensitive scalp, and speaking from experience, long hair can get yanked and jerked (ouch). I inquired to book with a hairdresser who has experience coloring and styling long hair. The receptionist recommended Rachel, and we scheduled an appointment. I'm punctual and arrived for my appointment right on time, but ended up waiting over twenty minutes before Rachel came out to greet me. But, this is just the beginning: After sitting down, the first thing this "recommended" hairdresser did was pick up a brush and ripped it though my hair, which really hurt! Now at this point I was irritated, but I kept it cool. After some small talk about coloring options, she left for five minutes and returned with a strange question: She asked me how I had planned to pay, as they don't accept cards, only cash and checks. (Unbelievable.) I had only so much cash on me, so when I asked about the pricing, hoping it would be enough, she told me it would be $120.00! Well, I didn't have $120.00 in cash or my checkbook with me, so I had no choice but to leave. This is so bad and so unprofessional for so many reasons: When I made the appointment with Sage Salon, the receptionist who booked me knew that I was a new customer and made no mention of accepting only cash or checks. There was no sign in the establishment communicating this, and when I arrived for my appointment, I shared that it was my first time visiting. They never clarified their limited payment options prior to me sitting in the salon chair. With the near-30 minutes WAITING for my appointment, surely they could have discussed the payment options with me then? WTF. I felt very disappointed for wasting my time, and left feeling awful. Visiting Sage Salon was a hot mess and a complete disaster, and I'd like the 45 minutes of my life back. read more

Amber "did my hair" for a wedding. When the bride told her we all wanted a braid as part if our do's, she replied with:" I hate braids..." She then did my hair which is naturally curly. I'm not exaggerating when I say she did a shitty braid, put my hair in a SLICKED back side pony tail (which was not at all like the pic the bride showed her) and put in 6 bobby pins. The entire process took less than 10 minutes..she then did the other 2 bridesmaids hair, which were also not what the bride really asked for. It took her less than an hour to finish all 3 of us....imagine my surprise when we were EACH charged 60 bucks (when we made the appt, we were told it would be 50). 180 dollars for less than an hour of work? I'm in the wrong business, apparently. Had it not been a friends wedding, I would have demanded she redo my hair. When we got home, 2 of us redid our hair. Awful awful experience. I have been going to this salon since I moved to the area a couple of years ago and in the beginning was getting a good cut, however, over time I have found that the consistency and quality of cuts has diminished. Several times my bangs or side burns were not evenly cut and I had to fix them myself. My last cut there the other day after I went home and showered I found that the hair on the right side of my head hung down about a half inch over my ear and the left side was right above my ear like I wanted it to be on both sides. Rather than call in and ask to have it fixed at the salon I simply took my electric razor and was able to cut the hair on the right side up to where it should have been. I have also found that the girl who does my hair doesn't actually give me an overall styling, she just barely trims the existing hair and doesn't reallty cut much. It is a bit of a drag because I really like her and the folks there and she used to do a decent job, I don't know why it has become how it has, however, I have decided to try a new salon the next time I need my hair cut. read more
