I have no problems with nail salons that aren't frou frou. I don't mind the lack of cucumber water. What does bother me is when you can just tell the place hasn't been cleaned in a while, when the foot sponges look like they've been scrubbing strong since '07, and where the NAIL LADY USES HER SHARP-ASS THUMBNAIL AS A CUTICLE IMPLEMENT. NASTY. Not only was that disgusting, it was painful. Usually a nice foot massage makes me forget a multitude of sins, but that wasn't a problem here, since my Sonicare toothbrush goes longer than these ladies when it comes to a massage. The only good thing about the place is that my pedicure looks decent. So that's how they earned one star (not that I have a choice on Yelp, but that's besides the point). But never again, Eiffel Tower...never.

She initially charged $65 for a lash fill and $75 for a full set. Later, she told me I needed a $95 full set only two weeks after my previous appointment. For pedicures, she agreed to match the $47 I paid at Gem Nails. She first charged me $45, then later $56. When I questioned the increase, she said she knew someone at Gem and had one of her own customers call to ask about their pricing. I had to show her six or seven bank statements to prove what I paid. I don't believe her claim about knowing someone at Gem, and the exchange made me feel as though she was calling me a liar over a price she had agreed to match. I paid $95 for my most recent lash set, which she did on Thursday. I first messaged her Monday about the lashes hurting my eye and sent photos. By Wednesday, after three days of trying to get a response, she finally replied. Her text says she didn't know how to fix them and that the only solution was to remove them and do a new set, implying I'd have to pay again, even though I was asking her to fix the set she had just applied. I'm posting that text and attaching photos with arrows showing the uneven lashes. They were glued facing inward, wouldn't brush outward, and hurt my eye. Nicole blamed my brushing, but brushing cannot change the direction the lashes were glued. In that same text, she said most of my lashes were gone when I came in for refills. She was the one doing my refills every two weeks, so that raises a serious question about the retention of her work. After I said I would leave a review, she sent a smiling, sweating emoji and told me I could do whatever I wanted. I won't return for lashes or pedicures.

I haven't cut my hair since 2017 because I didn't trust anyone to do it after my hair got messed up at a cheap salon. This entire week I was on Yelp searching for a hair stylist because my hair really needed a trim! After calling many salons in Long Beach, no one was available to take me right away. And then i found Sage Salon! I called them Saturday 2/6/21 and got an appointment on Sunday 2/7/21 at 10 AM. I was very excited! When I got there I waited a short amount of time (which I didn't mind at all because Lisa had another client that she was finishing up with) Everyone in there was nice and Lisa was very nice as well. Before we got started - we took a BEFORE picture and then I got my hair shampoo'd and conditioned. Afterwards, we got started and I fully trusted Lisa to do my hair. I didn't know what to expect, but the end results were amazing!!! I am definitely coming here again in the future. Pricing was great and decent for Long Beach. You get what you pay for, and what I got was beautiful :) I got many compliments today too! read more

I had an amazing experience with Luna at the Belmont Shore location! This was my first real haircut post-chemotherapy, and I was a little nervous about how my hair would turn out since it had been thin, flat, and brittle. Luna took the time to carefully assess the length and texture of my hair, offering thoughtful recommendations to add layers and shorten it for a more flattering look. She also treated my scalp to a moisturizing treatment, which is to help strengthen my roots and encourage healthier regrowth. It felt so amazing--like a little head massage :) She cut long, face-framing bangs that gave my hair a fuller, bouncier appearance. I left feeling so much more confident, and my hair looked absolutely gorgeous--soft, voluminous, and refreshed. I'm so grateful to Luna for her expertise and attention to detail. LUNA! Ask for LUNA! She is a true artist in every styling, every hair color. I've had stylists in DC, London, NYC, and she is the best. I live 30 miles from her location in Belmont Short salon, and think nothing of traveling that far to get a perfect style and color. I have thin, fine hair, which she can cut in small layers to give it fullness (I wear it shoulder length). After having tried other colors recommended by my stylist in London (where I lived for 7 years), she identified a color that makes me look a bit brighter, but very naturally. She also cuts my husband's hair, which is very thick and wavy. She knows how to 'tame' it so that it's a style, and not just a cut. Again, the name is LUNA. She is simply the best! read more

I called to make an appointment, but didn't realize there were two locations (I'm new to the area)... I thought my appointment was at Sage on 2nd, not the main location as they have the same number. Anyway, thankfully Sally was available so I just switched to her (since I walked and couldn't easily/quickly get to the other location). She did a great job! Super cute personality, friendly, and very nice... I secretly wanted to cut my hair shorter and it's like she read my mind! After being referred to Shary Sheppard by my friend who is a client of hers and always has the best color and cut, I decided I would make an appointment.
