I've been going to Sage for years and always received a great pedicure. They recently renovated and did a great job. I always choose the spa pedicure, 35.00 but if you pay with cash you receive $2.00 discount which is a plus. The owners, a young couple, are always friendly and make sure their place is clean. I like that the tv is faced only to customers so that the workers are not distracted or watch tv while they work like other places I've been to do. They keep their talking among themselves to a minimum not like other places where they talk the whole time in a different language which I think is so rude, another plus. They used to be my go to nail salon. However, as of late every time I would go with my cousin at the same time, they would do her first and then wrote on me. Resulting in me being here for hours and taking away the social aspect. However, YESTERDAY I came with an appointment with members of my bridal party to celebrate my birthday and some bridal activities for the day. TWO HOURS LATER I'm still there, meanwhile my bridesmaids are all done, and my nails are still soaking. Nail techs only tended to me every 20 minutes or so to file my nails. I ended up asking them to just to a regular coat of nail polish so I could make a dress appointment two hours away with my bridesmaids. I will never return there and I will stop recommending it to friends and family. I understand being busy but not honoring an appointment and then giving me an attitude because after TWO HOURS I was becoming impatient is unacceptable. It was a disgrace. read more

I am always disappointed when I don't make an appointment in advance and can't get my nails done when I want. Sage nail spa is worth every effort. I have not had a bad experience. There's been a few times I've had to go else where because I needed my nails done in a pinch, EVERY SINGLE TIME I've done that I've had a sense of regret. Sage goes the extra mile, which is a rarity. I really enjoyed my experience at Sage tonight. The background music was very relaxing, The chair massage I received while getting my nails done was AWESOME! The nail tech was very good I am pleased with the results. Awful service that is overpriced. I have been going to Sage for years and they have a massage lady that always walks around but I have not once received a massage because I am a younger customer (mid 20's). She will skip over me to serve older customers that are more likely to tip. It's over priced. Yes, you will get a nice, slightly quiet spa experience. (you will NOT always get a massage.. depends on if the woman is there or NOT). I paid $40 more than what I pay at my usual nail salon, (which is closed on Tuesdays, so that's why I went here) . I will NEVER go back. It's way overpriced, and my nails didn't last any longer. I called yesterday about having my daughters wedding party (6 girls) manicure and pedicures done on a Thursday morning one month from now. The gentleman who answered the phone asked " if i was a regular customer" I said we had been there before, but not on a regular basis. Used to love this place and had actually given it 5 stars. I went in last week with over an hour before closing and asked for a gel manicure and regular pedicure - more than enough time. The woman at the desk was horribly rude and snapped you can't get both. When I asked why, she just keep repeating you can only get one. At this point I told her I would go elsewhere and she rolled her eyes. So disappointed in the customer service. I used to be a loyal customer, but I won't be back. I began going here when it first opened....the girls were all Korean who bus from nyc to poughkeepsie to work...in the beginning if they spoke Korean to train a new person they would apologize.....lately they simply speak what ever language they want......at times giving the feeling they are talking about you....i dont feel this is professional....i also dont think that all the people they bring to work there are actually licensed to give manicure and pedicures....there are a few licenses hanging up but not one for each person who is performing mani/pedi...health wise, that is a worry...... read more

I know I'm slightly OCD about nails but this was the worst mani/pedi I've had in a while. Came here bc if the Yelp reviews, but was rushed through my mani/pedi by Blanca. She barely spoke to me, shoved my feet, yanked on my hands and drew blood on my toes. She argued with me about my preferred nail length (I understand Spanish so know she was whining to the woman next to her about how I wanted them too short). All my nails have bubbles and when I came home I had to refile bc most were jagged or uneven. I nicked one nail before leaving and it took ten mins after another technician yelled at her to fix it. Her "fix" was so bad that Maria (the only reason for this two, not one, star review) sighed and redid my nail for her. Maria was great. Blanca was rude and quite terrible. read more

I am so disappointed. Went in for a gel mani - waited an hour, which I was totally fine with. Jenny started my mani as soon as she was done with someone else's. She must have been in a bad mood because she was super rough and made my cuticles bleed - I was in so much pain and I told her so, she gave me a dirty look. She put some weird blue stuff on it, and when I tried to pull my hand away, she pulled it back towards her. I toughed the rest of the mani out and let the owner know. He said she was their best nail specialist. FAIL. I am looking at bringing this to the department of health. What was that weird blue stuff? What if it was my wedding weekend or if I was pregnant? How is being so rough with someone's hands acceptable? Never going back there again. read more

I went here for the first time two weeks ago-the salon is very clean and they use fresh instruments for each client which is very important to me. I didn't have a long wait and two weeks later my pedicure and gel nails still look great. My only issue is how expensive it is here- 28 for a basic pedicure and 30 for gel nails-most places they are only 20. I want to get ANC nails soon which are usually 30 and they charge 40 there-too pricey for me. read more

This is by far the best nail salon the area has to offer. It is spotlessly clean. In fact, I have even witnessed the staff on their hands and knees scrubbing the floors and pedicure tubs until they are sparkling. Everyone here is so friendly and accommodating. The owners are so sweet and they make you feel so welcome. The services are second to none and you have a wonderful menu to choose from including everything from a basic pedi to a lavender pedicure (my favorite) and so much more. They also do a fantastic job with gel manicures. I always leave here 100% satisfied and wanting to come back. Since I am a long-time customer of Sage and decent, clean nail salons are a rarity, I felt compelled to offer my input while airing my disappointing recent experiences. Before Sage Nails, over ten years ago or so, the same owners (Reni, sp?) and her family opened as Youngs Blue Nail. A group of us were weekly, longstanding clients, as they were friendly, fair-priced, and always eager to provide top-notch nail services. As their popularity increased, their lack of personalized attention and friendly service decreased. Good, quality nail techs were displaced and the staff changed frequently. We all agreed they herded you in like cattle, making everyone wait, concerned more with profit than quality service so our visits tapered off. After closing Youngs Blue Nail, they reopened years later as Sage Nail Spa, complete with a new staff, free massages while your nails dried, and some necessary renovations and upgrades to the spa. I was excited for the new spa, realizing that the owners hadn't change, but the quality of service had improved. Temporarily. As time passed and the herd of clients began to get wind of Sage, I started waiting 45 minutes, an hour, coming back on other days, only to find the hurried, businesslike demeanor and lack of personal attention return. Two times in a row I sat drying, without any drying oil, free massage, help with my shoes/coat, or a "goodbye" or "thank you" when I left. I was even asked by the owner if I had left a tip on my card for my technician, without any just cause. It was puzzling, to say the least. I can only justify their increasing customer base with the realization that they are one of the very few clean, reasonably priced (a manicure recently went from 12 to 15 dollars as they gained popularity) nail salon in the area. In the meantime, I'll be looking to travel a few more miles to spend less and gain better quality of service. read more

Ok, I don't know WHAT those other people who wrote negative reviews problems were but DO NOT judge this place by their criteria! I first came here with a friend to have my FIRST spa pedicure ever, and IT WAS AMAZING!!! The girls were all very friendly, professional, and I had a WONDERFUL, RELAXING, fabulous afternoon of sheer bliss! I decided to get a manicure also! I work with animals for a living and I am very hard on my hands/nails! Let me tell you...my nails looked FABULOUS for weeks!!! No chipping! No splitting! Just beautiful!!! I cannot tell you how many times I would look at my nails in the course of those weeks afterwards, and the smile that came to my face because they made me FEEL PRETTY!!!!
