Overview: A nice eatery in Barona Casino, a large variety of food and pretty good food, but some are hit or miss. ---- My favorites are the ox tail soup, calamari, lamb shank, and pistachio crusted lamb chops The bbq pork fried rice was not that good, the bbq pork was a bit dry and tough and the rice was a bit too salty. The fried calamari and the fries it comes with are so good, especially topped with lemon juice and dipped in the tartar sauce. The ox tail soup has very tender meat, but I wish there were more vegetables in the soup. Sometimes the vegetables aren't cooked enough. ---- Service can be hit or miss, but we had Wes this last time who was fantastic! Super friendly and attentive, all around awesome. ---- The lighting is a bit dim and makes the menu a little hard to read but it does make for a more intimate atmosphere. ---- Overall: there are some great places to eat at in Barona but we consistently choose Sage!

This is a really good spot to get a prime rib dinner special at Barona casino. The service is prompt and even when you do have to wait they text you when your table is ready. The cafe ambiance is casual and average noise level lots of celebrations too

Fry bread - - sooo perfect topped with a honey drizzle

Food here today was bountiful and top notch for Barona. I usually start with the waffle but was stoked to receive a bread basket featuring fry bread (!!!), which I'd never seen here before. I added a drizzle of honey and took an immediate trip to carb heaven. The calamari app was a huge portion, heavy on the breading but still scrumptious when doused with fresh lemon and tartar sauce. Bf's ribeye was juicy, and I still had room to enjoy half of his baked potato side and more fry bread before slipping into a food coma.

FRIED RIIIIIIIICE!!!! Ok this review is going to be short and sweet! Barona casino has interesting food.. but his little cafe in the corner as you heading to the Hotel side, is GEM! We stopped here two days in a row and each time took Togo boxes for mischiefs later.... The first thing is the Native bread that comes out as a starter.... You guys I have never had this , it's so perfect and simple it's so hard to explain why it's so good besides less is more! It's a fluffy fried hollow piece of bread, that you put butter and honey on! And oh my God it's life changing! And second but not last!! I ordered something you would me ever think to get at a cafe but, I was in a church and everyone had already ordered and was staring waiting for me... so on a whim I said " can I have the Cantonese fried rice with BBQ Pork" after I said it I could believe I ordered that.... But to my surprise this was the greatest fried rice I have ever ever ever had in my life.... And anyone who know me knows.... I've had a lot of fried rice I mean I'm part Asian! But even my mother couldn't pull this off... Fluffy and airy... never have I had rice this fluffy soft and airy... especially if it's fried I mean, how do you even pull that off... frying it but keep it soft... my mind was blown..... Yes this tiny cafe all the way in the mountains of Barona has the best fried rice in all of San Diego!! Your welcome! We Love Sage Cafe!!!

The prime rib was the best plate here, Southwest chicken salad 3 Salmon plate 3 2 fried chicken 3 Soup. Pork Filipino soup 4 Prime rib 5 and dessert was ice creams big scoop I will try a another Resturant next time there's 6 more to try. It's been a while since the last time I dined in at Sage cafe. Took my girlfriend to Barona for a little weekend gateway. We woke up early and craved for a traditional American breakfast. She ordered waffle with strawberries and added an extra crispy harsh brown, and I ordered steak and egg with toast. It took a bit long to get our order after we sat down, but within acceptable waiting time. The server was friendly. Pretty cozy to eat here with the country side decor. Will come back to try out other breakfast items when we come back next time.

Complete Prime Rib Dinner - 14 oz Prime Rib with Au Jus, Garlic Mashed Potatoes & Green Beans
    Stanley C.

Sage Café at Barona Casino is hands-down one of the best hidden gems in San Diego County -- and the fact that it's open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year makes it even better! It doesn't matter if you come in at 2 p.m. or 2 a.m., the menu stays the same, and you can order breakfast, lunch, or dinner anytime. The consistency in both food quality and service is honestly impressive. I've been here several times, and one thing that really stands out is the amount of food you get for the price. One of my all-time favorites is the 14 oz Complete Prime Rib Dinner for just $23.95. You get a perfectly cooked, tender prime rib served with au jus, grilled mashed potatoes, and green beans. It also includes your choice of soup or a crisp iceberg wedge salad, plus an ice cream dessert. I chose the wedge salad to start, which came out quickly and was incredibly fresh with a huge portion. When the prime rib arrived, it was cooked to perfection -- juicy, flavorful, and honestly massive. I almost couldn't finish it! For dessert, I went with strawberry ice cream -- just a scoop, but the perfect sweet touch to end a great meal. And before I forget -- they start you off with Indian fry bread and butter, which is absolutely delicious and feels like getting half a loaf of warm, fluffy bread. On another occasion, I came in for breakfast, and once again, the experience was fantastic. I ordered the Barona Deuces Wild for $12.95, which comes with 2 eggs, 2 bacon, 2 sausage, and 2 pancakes, plus hash browns and toast. When it arrived, the entire table was full -- I couldn't believe how much food came with it. Everything was cooked just the way I asked: eggs scrambled perfectly, sausage well done, and pancakes fluffy and golden. The ambience at Sage Café is a wonderful mix between casual and formal, giving off more of a hotel-style dining vibe. Sitting by the windows in the dining room offers lovely views, but personally, I prefer a cozy booth. The restaurant features beautiful hand-painted scenery, which I believe depicts the Barona Reservation, adding a special touch that connects to the local area. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, making it a comfortable place to enjoy a meal any time of day. The service here is top-notch, easily on par with -- if not better than -- some high-end restaurants. The staff is friendly, attentive, and constantly checking in to make sure everything's perfect. If you're in Ramona or near Barona Casino, and you want great food at a great price any time of day or night, Sage Café is the place to go. I'll definitely be coming back again and again -- and the 24-hour service just makes it even better!

    Breakfast served 24 Hours

Sage cafe is an inexpensive place to eat, a dining option in the Barona Casino Resort. We especially like the breakfast options served 24 hours. Coffee is great, we enjoyed a 3-egg omelette with choice of ingredients, 2-egg meal with ham steak, toast, hash browns, and complimentary bread basket. Regular entrees served too including prime rib, steak, meatloaf, etc. Also extensive variety of desserts. Prices are very reasonable. Courteous staff.

To begin with, Sage Cafe is located in the Barona Ranch and Casino, which is the cleanest and most beautiful casinos around! The restaurant is a cafe but the interior is more like an upscale restaurant with an amazing view of the golf course. Wes, our server was so warm and friendly, and that always makes dining a treat. Sage began by offering fry bread with honey, powdered and cinnamon sugar, yummy! My wife and I both ordered the everyday Prime Rib dinner which comes with either soup or salad, green beans, garlic mashed potatoes and ice cream for dessert. All was well seasoned and fresh but the star of the meal was the prime rib. It was prepared a perfect medium rare and was so perfectly cooked you could almost cut it with a fork! This delicious meal was fantastic for the price, we practically paid nothing! Great food, amazing service and a wonderful view make Sage Cafe a special place to visit!

    Indian Butter Bread. Yum!

Located inside Barona casino, Sage Cafe is open 24 hours and serves a variety of items: breakfast, sandwiches, comfort food, steak, Asian offerings, and more. The ambiance is cozy and relaxing. The window seats have awesome views of the valley. Their Indian fry bread is always a must before our meal. It is addicting and so good hot and fresh, with some added butter, cinnamon, and powder sugar. Albondigas soup is decent. I enjoy their buffalo wings appetizer, I get it with the sauce on the side (I'm not a fan of buffalo sauce). The Prime Rib is great. The Indian Butter Chicken is pretty good. I love French toast, however, their Barona's World Famous French Toast is NOT to my liking... and oh yea, their cheesecake is the best cheesecake in town!

Tuna Salad Sandwich with Onion Rings - $13.95.
    Harold S.

This is the restaurant inside the Barona Hotel and Casino. It's nice and spacious inside, the food was good and I thought the prices were reasonable. I had lunch there on a weekday, and my only negative concern is that the service was friendly, but seemed pretty slow. I ordered the tuna salad sandwich for $13.95 which came with a side of onion rings, which I thought was quite good. This is a good place to enjoy a meal if you are staying at the hotel or spending some time there. However, it's probably not the best place if you are in a hurry and don't have plenty of time.

Convenient! Inside Barona casino. Quick and well coordinated service. Fresh and tasty food. Bomb super crispy seasoned fries with most entrees. Unique complementary bread service. Fry bread with softened butter and honey on the side. Plentiful seating for groups of all sizes.

The bread was absolutely the best I've ever had!!! No reservations. Walk-ins only. Our party of 14 was quoted 1 hour of wait time. It only took about 30 minutes to be seated (not bad, considering we were a large group). The hostess was nice and amicable, she kept us informed on our wait time and seated us promptly! The vibe was definitely lively! Love the western decor (the deer head was a nice touch). The food on the other hand was absolutely the highlight of our dining experience. I ordered the 20 oz. bone in ribeye steak 10/10- medium. The steak was cooked to perfection (nicely charred on the outside, evenly warm and pink on the inside). Nice marbling of fat as well. My wife ordered the 6 oz. sirloin steak with shrimp skewers 10/10- well done (I know, she likes her meat burnt, sadly). For sides, we ordered the loaded mash, mac n cheese, and caesar salad. The loaded mash was rich, comforting, creamy, and savory 10/10! Overall, we had an exceptional time. We will definitely be back sooner than later. If you have yet to try this place, definitely do, you will not be disappointed!

The food is always great. The pork rib appetizer is pretty good, comes with four bones on a bed of fries if a party wants to share just a bit each. We've enjoyed the fried pickles before but it can be a little on the salty side. Similarly, depending on the day the rice/chili/steak can be a little heavily salted, so if you are sensitive to sodium I would make that clear to your server. I always get a sirloin (can't beat the price) with a cup of chili and a baked potato. The sirloin here is very good for what it is, and rarely ever overdone, nice and juicy. The chili has no beans but is nicely savory with lots of beef flavor. They have A1 if you want and ask. Always get extra rolls. They will even give you some to take home. Delicious with their whipped cinnamon butter.

They definitely did not hold back on any of the ingredients, especially the fresh hot peppers. As a results, the scrambled a good heat, just the way my father would of liked it. I liked it, too. The ladies working were incredibly friendly and sweet to everyone. A nice casual, clean dining area. There were multiple TVs on showing sports, without it being super loud. The dining area was actually a bit quiet until more people started showing up. Prices are fair. Definitely a place to try.
