Would be more 3.5 stars for me. Beach parking was less than others in cape cod($14 vs others…read more20-30/day). Would download the parking app ahead of time. The app prompts you not to pay until you get there as you may not have a spot even if you already pre-paid. Pros: bathroom facilities and outdoor showers Snack bar if needed Parking cheaper compared to other beaches on the Cape For us this beach was much closer to where we were staying. Cons: Water was freezing(mid 60s). This may be also viewed as a pro as it felt really cooling after being in it but does take time to get used to. The kids in the group had a hard time venturing any further than knee height. Walk to and from parking lot/ bathroom was a little long. The sand can be a little pebbly.

I live in MA and drove 1 hour to Scusset Beach during the 2nd week of July, 2026. The weather was…read moreperfect - perfect for a beach day : hot, sunny, clear blue sky. The beach itself was nice enough: decent sand, not rocky, not an over abundance of seaweed. That's where the enjoyment ended. That beach had a constant barrage of biting flies that annoy the crap out of you. They are small, relentless, painfully bite, and leave itchy marks where they bite. We stayed for 3 hours to try to get our $14 (parking fee) worth but after that, we left. I'll never go back since I now know those biting flies are an issue there and have been for years. Two thumbs down and I cannot recommend Scusset Beach to any beach goer who wishes to have a lovely day at the beach. Side note : the water was so cold also, with zero waves and contained floating seaweed. Terrible.

I concur with Eric, more than likely he doesn't want you to get off exit 3 and hit MaryLou's first…read more (keeping that to himself too!) at 755 State Road in Manomet. This place is a secret gem! There's some gravelly sand (not much) soft enough to sunbath high on the beach and if you walk about 1000' feet to the right toward White Cliffs you'll be on the backside of the marsh Eric mentioned and depending on the tide can walk across (take off your shoes) to a sandy section, look for sea creatures, crabs, et. Along the way there is a section of beach grass that is roped off for nesting plovers - you'll see 'em darting all around the grass. If you visit in late summer to late fall watch for the seals sunning themselves (no that's not me dispite the whiskers). Watch yourself on those stairs Eric mentioned - they look like something out of a Dr Seuss book! speaking of which this is a great place for kids to learn - all kid of sea life, washed up lobster traps, etc. Finally and very important - no lifeguards.

0.9 mile out and back easy trail (not wheel chair friendly the last section toward the rocky…read morebeach). Great ocean views and a couple nice overlook areas with one picnic bench mid way through the trail. No dogs allowed during peak summer season and signs are posted. The trails are mostly packed sand with a good amount of leaf accumulation making it a bit slippery on the wet day we visited.

How can someone give nature a bad review? In this case, nature is nature, and the conditions of the…read morewind and cold weather in the middle of summer are of course unpredictable. I will say we got here early by around 9ish and the parking lot was still pretty empty. We were only coming for like 2 hours so I do wish there was some sort of a different rate if you're not here for a full or even a half day. It was super chilly and windy even though it was the end of July, but we did enjoy laying down and getting some salt water breeze and just the sound of the water was enough to be able to enjoy. Some parts of the sand are rocky but we landed in an area that was pretty flat and sandy. As we were leaving, the parking lot was packed and I can imagine this being a place that gets filled and booked up if you don't come by a certain time. Pro tip: If you hike/walk/ride into the park, you can avoid the $25 parking fee. Other than that, be sure to bring your coral reef safe sunblock, pickup after yourself (and others if you love turtles), bring plenty of snacks and stay hydrated. Would I come to this beach as my main destination, probably not. For sure a one and done but absolutely enjoyed getting some beach and relax time.

The beach is so rocky you Must wear water shoes . There is a very small area of soft sand. They charge $30 not a beach worth that will not return. They should remove the rocks and bring in soft sand and build a staircase with landing pads so its not that steep for elderly and older folks to get up and down from the beach.

My absolute favorite beach in Dennis! It's especially perfect for families with little ones thanks…read moreto the calm, warm water and endless tidal pools to explore at low tide. The beach also has clean flush toilets and a full snack bar, making it easy to spend the whole day here. If you're driving, try to arrive before 9:00 AM or after 1:30 PM to avoid the long line for parking. Parking is $35 paid with credit cards only, but for us it was well worth it. Definitely a must-visit if you're on Cape Cod!

Go when the tide is going out and you can explore everything left behind on the ocean floor, or come back when the tide is coming in. Watching the water return at the speed it does is a really unique experience. You can check the tide schedule online. We went on a relatively mild, overcast day. The water was cold but not freezing. I imagine on a hot summer day it probably warms up quite a bit since it's so shallow. This was an incredible experience for both of my kids. My one year old loved splashing around in all the little pools the tide left behind. My six year old was completely fascinated watching the tide come rushing back in. None of us were expecting it to be as dramatic as it was. The overall vibe here was great too. People seemed friendly and relaxed, and we enjoyed the atmosphere much more than some of the beaches we visited around Newport the week before.
