I love this store! I love the clothing style, the French style influence, affordable prices, and the whole simplistic and relaxed atmosphere. The manager is a very nice and helpful lady who was so sweet as she made my little boy laugh and giggle (he was having a tantrum while I was shopping). Frou-frou meets elegance: Saga is an original. There is nothing like this women's clothing store on any mall I've ever visited, I can tell you that. Heavy on the romance and definitely unique: if you like that, you'll find it here. The clothing is mostly tops, skirts, and dresses with a few capris and shorts thrown in at the back. Fabrics that pop up the most here are light and airy, such as cotton voile, gauze, and lightweight silks. There is an abundance of lace accents. Color pallete leans mostly in the soft and subtle direction (lots of muted pastels). And the styles -- well they're lovely! -- very flattering to a variety of figures and loose on the body for the most part. I am told by the nice French lady who works here that these are designs from the owner who is from Europe and they follow the French sizing system, i.e., 0, 1, 2, and 3. Saga seems to be exactly my style, and I would shop here more often except that most of the items are not only at the dressy end stylewise (something I would wear to a wedding, Easter Sunday, or a garden party perhaps -- not that I've ever had the pleasure of attending a garden party) and not suited to a more everyday, casual lifestyle like mine, but also a little too much on the pricey side for us cheapskates. But if I needed an extra special outfit, Saga would be the first stop on my shopping itinerary. A shopping experience at Saga is never pushy or hurried. The owner here has a very heavy French accent, and although it's hard to understand everything she's saying - I love her! She helped me rummage through some shoe selections, and I walked out very happy with a super cute pair of newsboy style shoes. The item selection here is pretty light and airy, nothing too scandalous. You can definitely see the French influence in the clothing collection. I've only been here this one time. Most of the clothes are not really my style, but I picked up a cute black halter for under twenty dollars and also a beaded bracelet that I found appealing (although my friend said she bought a similar one on Melrose for 6 bucks). The saleswoman was very attentive, a little too attentive perhaps, as I could have used a little more space and a little less commentary. Well well well I had the best time in that place thanks to Nicole. It was the first time I came in by a recommendation of a friend. If you have a special event and need an elegant Fashionista expert advice: she will go beyond to find what fits you the best and flatter you the most (as she says). Have been a fan of the Saga store (2nd Street Long Beach) since discovering it about 3yrs ago. Love the linen "Made in Italy" line... of which I now own at least 12 pieces. At my recent visit I noticed many items tagged "Saga". These pieces are no longer sized for "one size fits most". They fit more like junior sizing. I saw fewer of the "Made in Italy" pieces. While I usually walk out with 2-4 items each visit, this time nothing. I love the European style of loose flowing oversized linen...Lagenlook (made for layering). Disappointed that my favorite boutique appears to be no longer offering linen clothing that will work for a mature woman. read more

Their return policy is awful and although they state it upfront, they make things far more difficult than necessary, all to benefit them of course. They give you an ultra thin little piece of paper for store credit which they hardly keep track of and have no electronic tracking system in 2018. I'm deeply disappointed and will not return. I totally get that it was my fault for misplacing it, but most stores have some other back up policy in place. I asked them shortly after to try to locate it. The lady blew me off and never returned my phone call. I tried again later and got a similar response. Then once again and magically she can't find it and it must have been from another year, which they purged. How convenient is that. read more

Jewelry is very unique and extremely reasonable in price. I loved shopping here and could have spent hours. My only disappointment was that I was told they had an online shop and it appears they do not. I think it depends on the salesperson actually. There are several that aren't pushy. The 2nd street shop Belmont shore is different from the shop at the marina closer to Pine Ave, I love the clothes tho want to be able to decide for myself which ones really suit me vs. being asked "why don't you like or want that (2nd street and just one saleswoman). I have purchased a number of pieces from the 2nd street (long beach ) store as well as the one downtown near Parker's LIghthouse. Either way the clothes are pretty unique and nicely made~ no one can argue that! Please consider this store (either one) should you be visiting Long Beach. I was in Long Beach on holiday in June, I took my friend out for lunch at Parkers Lighthouse and noticed this shop, after lunch I visited the shop and bought the nicest outfit for my son's wedding in Bali in September. I received a lot of nice comments on my outfit which made me feel I had made the right choice. Only that it was my last day in L.A. (and no room in my suitcase) I would have bought a whole lot more. The cashiers and store associates are looking at you like "ew, that shirt must be from Target, what a looooser" DEFINITELY not in this store. They are the sweetest and will help you out with anything. I went in to look for a simple dress and i didnt want to spend more than about $40 but i ended up buying this dress just because the woman was so helpful and sweet. And it was $80, hah. I walked by this store - probably have been by a bunch of times since I live in the neighborhood - and saw a sign that advertised new stuff from Italy. I'll be in Italy in 10 days so I walk in. $600 later I am soooooo happy that I found this store! My daughters are drooling over what I bought - because it will look great on them too - and I might have to take them in for an outfit for our trip.
