Sag Pizza has come a long way. Pizza is very very good. The service is now top notch and consistent and has become part of the community. Tough to replicate Conca but I feel very comfortable saying they have finally found their groove and thats a good thing. Keep up the good work. Now,lets get to the pizza. The san Marzano has a sweet sauce with a quality cheese. My wife loves the pepperoni with a super thin sliced pepperoni that I have to admit really makes it outstanding. Keep it up! read more

Took a ride to Sag Harbor, with a couple of friends. Yesterday. I went to SAG pizza, nicely decorated, the waiter was exceptionally friendly, knew the menu very well, We ordered two pies, the mushroom and Tartufo, and the Formaggi and prosciutto. Both pies were fantastic, both had a nice char, both tasted extremely delicious, very generous toppings, very comfortable and accommodating, definitely go back. Highly recommend. Next time I have to try their meatballs people at the next table were eating and they look very good. read more

This is probably the biggest disappointment of a pizza joint NY state holds. Laurent failed to seize the opportunity of establishing a classic slice. Sag Harbor has been without a dedicated pizza joint since the closing of Conca D'oro. The wood oven being in the storefront is negatively affecting the cooking of the pizza itself. Wood ovens burn at very high temperatures cause the heat to be inconsistent due to summer temperatures and a wide variety of factors. The consistency will always be different here due to a heat battle. The pies that do come out of the oven are mediocre at best. Outrageously priced and poor quality, even with a three day fermentation process for the dough. The couple of occasions I managed to bring myself around they were completely out of pizza. Slices are over priced and are not traditional Brooklyn style pizza that we all know and love. My issue here is that the food while being very high price does not follow through. I will never be returning to Sag Pizza. We still lack a dedicated pizza establishment in this town. Espressos doesn't count. read more

Came in for lunch with a small group. The restaurant was quite full of families during lunch time, so the food came out slower than we would have liked. At least the servers were friendly. Being generous with two stars, what a disappointment. Decided while visiting downtown Sag Harbor to have a quick bite so what better than pizza. Now with the fancy al fresco sitting it was appealing though we knew it wouldn't be cheap. The stars were earned mainly by our waitress who was doing three times her ability. She took the orders... cleaned the tables ...and served all that would of been left is for her to make the pizza. As we patiently waited it beca clear they had not processed our order, we managed to get water spite and a pricey argula salad with a slice of avacado. Nothing else in 40 minutes. In frustration my husband went to the counter and asked to uncover that the order was not placed at all. We paid for the salad water and sprite.. no apologies and yes unfortunately we will never return there. read more

I have been coming out to this region of Long Island since a was a child. I always have expected a certain decorum from those out here; a bit kinder a bit more soft spoken. What I did not expect was crassness, rudeness to follow workers, lack of respect for your own product and no appreciation for the customer. In all fairness these comments are based on an experience with only one of their workers.... the bartender. When I first arrived I asked which dish was better, the pizza of the meatball sub. He replied that it makes no difference as a pizza is a pizza and a sub is a sub. Basically, he could not elaborate or recommend one over the other - or which I latter learned, he just did not care. After ordering my pizza one of his coworkers, a teenager, and the bartender had a short conversation. The bartender turned to me and called the coworker a "sh*t-head" and mumbled about how much training does someone need for a "pizza joint". He looked at me for a response but I pretended I did not hear. After my pizza came he came by a few minutes and said, "How is your pizza. I ask like I care, but I really don't." I was speechless but not without an opinion of his statement. This man truly does not care about his product, his job, his customer. Nor does he have any respect for himself. I was floored by that comment. Later on, a young girl, no older than 16 came up to him and asked if he had a phone charger. The bartender came back with the charger and asked for $10.00 deposit and continued to harass her and teasing her about how she might walk out of the shop with it and what guarantee does he have she would return in. Mind you, she was there with about 9 to 12 of her friends sitting at three or four tables. A coworker of his walked up to him and told him to stop messing with her as she was only a kid. He stated back to the coworker, "I don't care how old she is, she needs to learn now, and frankly I do not care how she takes it." I paid my bill and I left. I expect such treatment...will... no place. No business should ever treat customers or coworkers like this. read more

Great good, great service, reasonable prices! Went with a party of 8 expecting an hour wait and it was only 20m so I consider that a major win. Only small issue is the kids didn't love the margarita pizza bc it has I think a lot of either Parmesan or pecorino or something and was very salty and tasted a bit diff from normal margarita but the adults liked it and ate it and we got Mac for the kids in the end and they were happy. If you go off hours, it's actually quite good. But if you eat meals at normal times the service falls completely falls apart. Last time I went at 7pm and there was a girl working outside the front door. There were a couple parties in line ahead of us and she told each of us there was a 15 minutes wait and they would text when ready. It seemed strange because there were six open tables outside.... The other groups left (and never came back). We sat on a bench and waited. After seven minutes my wife went inside to use the restroom. When she came back she told me there were another six open table inside as well.... Not one party had come back to claim a table the entire time. We complained and were immediately given a table inside. The wait time between ordering two pizzas and when they arrived explained why SP does not care about filling their tables. The pizza chefs are the only efficient things about the entire operation but they literally had 40 pizzas to make for take out in front of our order... Bottom line SP really only cares about its takeout business. Expect inefficiency and delays if you want to sit down. read more

I'd describe it kindly as disinterested, lackluster, unprofessional, inexperienced, and in need of major improvement. At the end of the day, its a pizza joint, so i'm not looking for much. I don't fault the staff. They're mostly young, and inexperienced. Its easy to see. Assign blame here to management. Run a tighter ship. Teach the staff how to do better. Upon walking in...its evident right away. I'm ok with no hostess to show you to your seat, but the staff just doesn't know how to handle this. Again, inexperience. Then, they simply don't clear the tables. Dirty dishes will sit piled high on each table until the table is needed. Water is rarely refilled. I need something, can't find the waitress. Its unfortunate, since like I said, the food is good. My kids often crave pizza and we're nearby, but upon walking in, my fingers are crossed that its not a painful, lengthy experience. read more

I was out east on a business trip and had a meeting at the Sag Harbor Elementary School. Got to town early and needed and wanted lunch. I saw this place and decided this was where I wanted to eat. I walked in to a large, very Hamptons like, establishment. It was empty but it is also January, so that was to be expected. I was greeted immediately so no service problems. I looked at the menu and saw a slice of pizza, which looked pretty small in the display case, was $3.75. Now, maybe I could get charging that in July would be appropriate, but certainly in January, to have a SMALL slice .50 cents more than the most expensive Manhattan slice I've seen, didn't go over well with me. But I was hungry, and I can expense my lunch, so what the hell. I ask for 2 slices and a diet coke. I then get told that they have a lunch special. 2 slices and a can of diet coke for $9.00. I say fine. I get my food and the slices were as small on the plate as they looked on the counter. Truth be told, the pizza wasn't too bad. A little less sauce and cheese than I would like, and paper thin, but not bad. Worth what I paid? No. Also truth be told, my hunger wasn't completely satisfied. Maybe the summer tourists keep this place afloat, but I was hoping for and expecting more. read more

The rating is actually based on their customer service. The food is great, and I suggest ordering takeout. I decided to dine in on my most recent excursion and had to ask three people if my wife and I could be seated, one person ignored us completely. We were there really early in the evening, we were one of three tables seated. There were at least 8 servers roaming around and there seemed to be no one in charge. I understand that there are staffing issues, but you really need to act like you have it together even if you don't. We were finally seated after asking a third person. The service was basic, if I wanted another glass of wine I wouldn't see our server until the very end of our meal. Again, getting take out is a much better option. read more

It was as hot inside as it was outside. That should have been our first clue. We split a pizza because we just wanted a snack. So glad we did because it wasn't very good. After my husbands first taste, he said I have had frozen that tastes better. It was piping hot when it came to our table, however the center was raw and the crust was burnt. The bottom was black as if they don't clean the grill they cook it on. In my opinion there wasn't enough sauce or cheese. Plenty of pepperoni, but it wasn't spread out. There were a couple of slices that had layers of 5 or 6 pieces on top of each other so I spread them out before eating the pizza. read more

Today we returned in the afternoon to have a slice. The restaurant was empty, but we were not allowed to eat the slice at a table. We were told slices are for takeout. We took our slices out and ate them on a bench. The oil from the slice dripped all over us. The cheese tasted as if it were spoiled. The sauce was highly acidic. We concluded that Sag Pizza is not your neighborhood pizzeria as Conca D'Oro was but another hyped up Hamptons scene with poorly cooked food created by people who know nothing about Italian cuisine or pizza. People are hating because it's not the old pizza place they grew up with. GET OVER IT. The pizza is great. It's thin crust, Neapolitan style pizza, and it's done very well. The pricing is perfect for what you get. They didn't sell by the slice when they first opened but they do now. I got a bunch of pies for my staff a few weeks ago and they're still talking about it. The soppressata is my personal favorite. The chile infused olive oil on the tables is awesome if you want a little heat without compromising the flavor. I'm sure they had some growing pains as they opened in the heat of August, but they've clearly figured everything out. Do not listen to these charlatans saying it's not good. They've probably been eating the same pizza for 20 years and have no idea what they're talking about. read more

*Sniff sniff* I smell some haters in the Hamptons. Sag Pizza is a great new addition. Sorry, World Pie! I came here on a Saturday night with my cousin and his girlfriend. We wanted something quick and yummy before we went on to the night's festivities, and that's exactly what we got! We put ourselves on the waitlist thru Yelp at home and by the time we drove there, parked and walked in our table was ready. They were busy, despite having NO AC. They had fans, but we were in the back of the restaurant, and while we were aiming for a quick dinner anyways, we were thankful service was swift when we stepped back outside and got hit with the breeze. We really enjoyed the avocado & arugula salad w/ crispy kale (spicy and awesome), ricotta toast (YUM), and shared the san marzano and pepperoni pizzas. Skip the tuna appetizer, wasn't our favorite. Staff was friendly and helpful. Food came out fast and tasty. What more can you want? Air Conditioning. (Which hopefully was a temporary problem.
