We've been eating from Espresso for decades, but the pizza has taken a big dive down with the disappointing white pizza we got the other night. The ricotta was so skimpy it didn't even make it onto some of the pieces and what was there was still... hard to see. Or taste. We ordered a large and the last piece is still in the fridge, several days later, because neither one of us wants to eat so it will be tossed. Not sure we will try another pizza of any kind. It is truly a delight to find a place affordable, and also be able to get large portions of homemade foods. Everything I've eaten there is delicious. My favorites are the roasted artichokes and the most delicious focaccia bread. The service has always been and still is excellent. All the nice things people say about this place are true, with one exception: they have gotten the order wrong when we picked up and brought back home 2 out of 4 times. Not a good average, folks. Tonight my husband went in while I sat on one of the nice benches to enjoy the walking traffic. He ordered me a grilled chicken with vegetables on focaccia. When we got home - 14 miles away in Springs - it ws grilled vegetables with Gorgonzola which I do not like at all. I called to let them know and they offered me a gift card. Minutes later they called back to say that my husband ordered what they made. Huh? I asked them if I should believe them or the man I have been married to for many years and who as a rule does not make these kinds of mistakes. The offer of the gift card was rescinded as will be our business. The same thing happened last summer. read more

A grilled chicken a fresh mozzarella panini used to have so much chicken I couldn't eat it all, and at least some cheese. Super bummed the last 299 I got literally had 3 pieces of bacon. Has the best garlic knots I've ever had! The vegetable pizza is excellent. What makes the pizza so good is the sweet crust. Recently moved to Sag Harbor and was very happy to find a place like Espresso with truly great pizza. It's an excellent and less expensive alternative to other pizza places in town. Also, like the owner at the register, who despite the chaos of the summer crowds remains friendly. I've also used their crust to make pizzas at home which is excellent as well. read more

As of July 2019 they are open again. I've been here plenty and the food is alright. CHECK YOUR ORDER AND RECEIPT! I have had one of their younger staff members habitually overcharging me and get my order wrong several times despite repeating it back to me. Perhaps some of the best sandwiches I've had; the dipping sauce and fresh focaccia are just amazing. They're huge so i always split with someone or save the other half (some stay well until next day; depends on the order!). Unfortunately, they're not always accurate with the orders or payment (has only been an issue when calling ahead- but it's happened every time I've ordered on the phone...) so keep a note of that. Workers are almost always rude or aggressively indifferent, but the sandwiches make it worth the trouble. read more

Never wrote a review in my life. I skipped lunch today and was So looking forward to a steak from the Corner Bar but didn't feel like dropping $30. A friend recommended Espresso across the street. I spotted the Steak Sandwich on their website menu and ordered by phone. Drove 15 minutes.... picked up my order and drove 15 minutes home. Sooooooo disappointed..... menu says sliced shell steak, I guess they were out of the good stuff because I got dry cooked flavorless sliced roast beef. Eeeeyuuuk!!! I hate reheated roast beef. It's ALREADY COOKED! That's why the word "roast" is in the title. Will I try them again, perhaps, if someone else is buying. Staff was great BTW. Atmosphere was great. I have gone here three times this week and ordered the same drink each time but got something different each time. The first time I went the cashier charged me for everything but forgot my croissant. When I told him of the mistake he gave me one happily and said it was in the house; although I already paid for it. I ordered an ice mocha. The drink that I got was simply a pre made concoction that he poured over ice. It was decent flavor but contained no espresso as I can tell. The second time I was given a drink that involved the barista mixing milk, mocha syrup, the pre made concoction and espresso. This drink was tasty and exactly what I expected. The only downside to my experience was the older gentleman yelling at his employees for not restocking the ice in the soda machine. This being said , I decided that I would again come here. I am presently sitting outside of the place drinking my third iced mocha which is absolutely the worst one yet. An entirely different process was used for this one and it's the worst. I will absolutely never step foot in this place again and plan to tell everyone one staying in the marina with me to avoid this place. read more

Glad to see this place reopen - it was a mainstay on Division St. for years. Enormous and tasty focaccia sandwiches - one sandwich can easily feed two people - for about $11. They also have a huge menu of subs, pasta, fresh salads and some prepared salads, cookies, etc. No room to sit so plan on eating on the dock or on the beach! read more
