What should have been a routine visit quickly turned into an extremely uncomfortable and upsetting experience. My husband is a young Black cargo van operator and the owner of a logistics business. While working in Sag Harbor, he encountered an issue with his cargo van and stopped by your shop seeking assistance. As a business owner who relies on his vehicle daily, he approached the situation professionally and simply needed support to get back on the road. From the moment he arrived, he felt that he was treated with a lack of respect and professionalism. The staff's tone and behavior toward him were dismissive, and he was not given the same level of attention or courtesy that he observed being extended to other customers. His concerns were not taken seriously, and he felt ignored when trying to ask questions about the service being performed on his vehicle. In addition to the unprofessional behavior, he was also overcharged for the services provided. When he requested a receipt, he was told that he would have to pay additional money just to receive documentation of the services performed, which is completely unacceptable. He was also told that he had to pay upfront in cash, which raised further concerns about the legitimacy and transparency of the transaction. More concerning, however, was the treatment he experienced that he perceived to be racially motivated. He was subjected to inappropriate language, including racist slurs, which is completely unacceptable under any circumstances. The manner in which he was spoken to, along with the overall hostility, made it clear that he was not being treated fairly or respectfully. Additionally, my husband was treated disrespectfully as well. He was told that he could not use the bathroom in the auto shop and was instructed to go to a nearby gas station instead. This added to the overall feeling of being unwelcome and discriminated against. No customer especially a paying customer and business owner should ever have to endure discrimination, dishonesty, or disrespect when seeking service. This experience was not only unprofessional but deeply offensive. I believe that all businesses have a responsibility to provide a respectful, inclusive, and professional environment for every customer. Unfortunately, my husband's experience at B & B Auto Service fell far below that standard. We are bringing this to your attention in hopes that it will be taken seriously and addressed appropriately. We expect accountability for this behavior and meaningful steps to ensure that no one else experiences this type of treatment in the future.

The driver charged $350.00 for a 10 minute job. My friend offered to pay by credit card but the driver insisted on cash and followed my friend to the bank. My friend asked if there was some kind of veteran discount and explained that he is a wounded combat veteran. The driver and the owner who I called later DID NOT CARE. They're just about money. I truly hope there is such a thing as Karma and they pay for how they treat people. Another friend broke down just three blocks from their shop. They charged $1,500.00 to tow the truck three blocks. They said it was because my friend could not get a ride to pick up the car for a couple of days. Please, spread the word and find someone else if you need any work done on your car or need a tow.

About the most polite, efficient and helpful auto service people I've encountered in the 73 years…read morethat I've owned cars, which have ranged from a 1940 Ford sedan (when I was 16) to a1988 Ferrari Testarossa. Most recently they did some work on my 1965 Alfa Giulia Spider. Their inspection of the car picked up a couple of problems that were overlooked by the people that restored the car and they found the needed parts (not easy for a 60 year old car) and replaced them at very reasonable cost. I'm very favorably impressed with Donovan and his people.
