I called beforehand to schedule an inspection appointment, which Greg gave me at 4 pm. I come in at 4, everything goes well, and I go to pay, and the bill comes out to $100. The regular charge should've just been $37, but since I "didn't" have an appointment, according to the owner, Greg, he had to charge me for "Express Inspection," not to mention he didn't even have a receipt ready to give me; I had to ask him for one. He then told me, yelling at me, "I told you it would be a $100 charge because you don't have an appointment." Not only did he lie, but he scammed me. Not to mention, I've been here before for another vehicle of mine; I made the appointment the same day and was only charged $37. Don't come here and save your money, not to mention he's rude to his workers. read more

I've been living out on the east end for over 10 years now and have had experience with 2 auto repair shops. The first after 9 years as a regular customer charged me 45 dollars to screw in a tail light! That did it for me and sent me seeking another shop to do business with. I found Greg's during the height of the pandemic when one of my cars needed an inspection. Small ticket item for them especially during a time when most businesses were only taking emergencies. They got me right in. Next visit was right before a trip. We had a car with a dead battery. They changed the battery and delivered the car back to our house while we were away! Who does that today? My last visit to Greg's was for a flat tire. I arrived before shop hours and waited for them to open up. There were a lot of cars in the lot and I thought for sure they would say they didn't have time or to leave the car and come back later. Nope had the tired all plugged up in 15 minutes! I've been so impressed with there integrity and customer service. A family run business that seems to still offer good old fashioned customer service is a rare find out here. I went to Greg to have a new set of tires and rims put on my sons truck I was very happy to see they could fit me in with out an appt. with great service and a very fair price. In addition they also found a lot needed an inspection and that was done in a few moments. A leveling kit was installed rapidly and professionally I paid only 250.00 for all the work he did. Excellent service. Pleasant experince scheduling the appointment. Had my winter tires put on my Audi, couldn't been a nicer experience. The job was done the same day as promised. I met Greg and it was nice to talk to the owner. No comparison to going to the dealership. The local charm makes the experience even better. Absolutely horrible. Made an appointment way in advance to fix a few things (side window regulator, check AC, replace 1 lug nut). Dropped my car off right on time was promised a call back that same day, never got it. Called back myself the next morning received a 'We're very bury. We'll get to it today and call you back' answer, never got a call back. Called back myself again the next morning and learned that the car wasn't even looked at yet. Got another promise of 'We'll look at it now'. Guess what no call back in the next 5 hrs. I had to call back for the 3rd time to learn the most ridiculous price of over 1500$. The guy on the phone was extremely rude and annoyed with me, said he can 'drop' the price 2 times to only fix the 'necessary' things. After this extremely bad customer service I obviously didn't want anything to do with the place. When I came to pick up my car the next morning I was pressured into paying 200$ for the time they spend 'checking' my car with absolutely no apologies that they kept it there for 3 DAYS without giving me ANY details. Thankfully my car got fixed the next week in Southampton for under 500$, I wasn't charged anything for the initial check up and received an excellent customer service. DO NOT GO THERE! I recently purchased an older car. I went there requesting they look at everything and stated that the brakes probably need replacing. I dropped it off at 9am. They said they would call. At 3pm I still hadn't heard from them. I called, I was told "we are looking at the car now, we will call you back. " At 4:10 still waiting, I decided to call them. They said"the car is ready, you can pick it up". I asked about the breaks, they insisted they were fine. I am not a mechanic but I know when breaks have gone bad. I had to insist that they look at it again. The man on the phone said pick it up because we are closing soon. I walked there, by the time I arrived the mechanic said the side that was taken off earlier was fine but the other side is not good. Then said, " I don't recommend driving it like that." That's when I lost it !! THAT IS WHY I BROUGHT IT IN AT 9am !!!!! Stay far away from this place. They lie to your face. read more

Awesome Garage. Went in for an inspection on a Friday afternoon. They took my car right away and had it done within an hour. Appointment process is no nonsense--you call, they give you a time, and when you show up, they take your car. These are the same people that used to run the Harbor Heights garage on 114. That location can no longer do inspections, as I understand it, so the inspections are now done here at Greg's Garage. Highly Recommended! read more

This space used to be occupied by the only honest mechanic I found in the area.After he retired, I noticed the new garage seemed to not have much business. I took the car in for needed work. There is 1 guy there by himself who is not the owner. I waited while the car was repaired. He stopped at least 5 times to do other things while I waited, then he charged me for an 1.5 labor @$110 an hour. I was there for a total of an 1. 25 including time he didn't other things. He wouldn't budge when I protested that he didn't even work on my car for an hour.Now I know why they have no business. I left a message the day for the owner at his other station who didn't return my call. I called again the next day and spoke with a woman who hung up on me. Then the mechanic who ripped me off, MATT, called and threatened to have me arrested. He's now claiming that he worked on my car for 2.5 hours and it wasn't even 45 minutes. All the owner had to do is call and try to resolve this like a honest, civil, human being. read more

He seemed helpful and efficient but the changed windshield wiper has the same amount of dirt on it as the one that was not changed. The oil and tire pressure were not registered as fixed by the on board computer so did they change the oil? I do not know if they did what they said they would so no, the trust is not there. They may be ok but I am not feeling it. read more

I had an awful 6hr trip to Sag from upstate ny with my car making Intermittent scary noises. Two different local friends independently suggested I go to Greg's. Folks there were very kind, listened to my concerns (and mild panic) and agreed to take a look despite an obviously busy morning of regular customers. Two hours late the car was evaluated, treated and cured! I am very grateful to lovely people who helped in a pinch. I cannot say enough about the amazing service I received @ Greg's Garage! I have a truck in I keep in NY for the summer although I live in California. On my 3rd day of my NY visit, the battery light came on. I had AAA come and run a diagnostic test. I needed an alternator and belt. I called Greg's Garage, spoke to Anthony who said he could take my truck that day (a Friday). He couldn't promise when it would be fixed but I got the call the next day. Gregg garage is literally one of the best places ever. Back in Aug me and my family went to try and enjoy some beach time at Sagg main beach. Mind you I drove 2 hours from the Bronx to get there. Once we arrived my coolant holes broke where the antifreeze came out. A day that was supposed to be fun turned to be a scary one because we were now 109 miles away from home. The beach manager googled a mechanic and they came out to be 5 miles away. They drive me there and Anthony was so nice to get me a flatbed right away to me in order for Gregg and his team to help. After an hour I got to his garage. He didn't have the part ,not any bmw warehouse would have it that day. Listen guys I cried because I know it was gonna be hell for me to get home. it was already 2 or 3 in the afternoon. But Gregg is a smart and talented mechanic that literally fixed that part in a way where my car runs better than ever. In so thankful for this garage because I got to the Bronx safe with no problem. He looked out and I could only say to you all. He is good, not a book mechanic, he knows his stuff and they helped me. I'm so grateful for him and his garage. I would never forget them. I honestly will make every amend to bring my car to him to fix because I trust him enough after a day of stress, he made my daughter and family smile with gratitude! Don't let the friendliness fool you. It was Tuesday afternoon. My car was over-heating on Millstone Rd. Naturally, I freaked out, then remembered the auto shop on Noyac. I pulled in, found the owner and was told I needed a new fan belt. Since it's August in the Hamptons my car would be ready on Thursday. Almost 48 hours later I hadn't heard from them, so I called. They were "just checking my car and would call back with a price." "Price?" I said, then was told a caliper was leaking, I needed a new water pump, etc., etc., and he "didn't want to surprise me with the cost, since I didn't know about cars, and it was going to be really expensive." Needless to say, I phoned for a tow truck to take my car elsewhere. I had to pay a "diagnostic fee" of $130 plus before my car could be towed (labor is $120/hr.) he said when I phoned back. I don't believe for a NY minute he spent an hour looking at my car, but I paid anyway, just to end the nightmare. My long-time mechanic said, "They were bsing me and were scammers." This was a very stressful situation. Typical... men taking advantage of women who know nothing about cars!! Avoid this place no matter how desperate!! F minus service. read more

Asked me where I was from, then gave me a laundry list of work my car "needed" to pass inspection. Car passed the next day at another garage with no problem. Really dishonest. read more

I called the garage and asked if I could have my car towed there for an estimate to repair a clutch. I said I didn't want any work done on the car, just an estimate. The front desk person said that would be no problem and I could drop the car off. Upon arrival they told me they agreed to look at the car and give me a call before they did any work. I waited four days and after hearing nothing from them, called in. They said the problem was the clutch and maybe the transmission and the 'best case scenario' estimate they gave me was higher than the blue book value of the car. I informed them I would not be repairing the car and would pick it up. When I arrived with a tow truck 'greg' told me I owed $156.13 for doing 'one and a half hours' of work. He claimed they had called and left a message in regards to the 'work' they had intended to do and after hearing no response from me went ahead and worked on the car. There was no missed call on my phone or voicemail. And when I showed him my phone he said, 'oh of course there's not'. He told me and the tow driver, "you're not getting the car off of this lot without paying, you could call the police, or dispute the credit card charges." He said this happens a few times a year so I hope this review is helpful. read more
