Brought my car in to replace a flat tire - in and out in 1 hour first thing in the am on a busy summer weekend. They had an extensive selection of tires on hand. If you have the misfortune of a flat tire, they will take care of you quickly and provide peace of mind. read more

Call and got same day service for 4 new tires for an F150 truck. Dropped off, went to lunch and then picked it up. Service was fast, friendly and transparent- all questions got answered and they provided some useful information about other work I needed. read more

Had four tires replaced on jeep. Their quote was better priced than my EH mechanic. SH Tire includes the balancing so that made a $150 savings. But it's the service and straightforward approach that's key especially in Hamptons. Came back today to this location from east Hampton thinking I needed break pass replaced. They called and told me that breaks were fine and no need to replace. Worth the 45 min drive for the honest and quality service! read more

Stopped in to replace a run flat tire on my 2014 BMW. BMW gave me an appointment in 2 weeks. Southampton Tire (Mike) looked at all my tires and said only the one needed to be replaced and they had it in stock! An hour later it was completely finished! Definitely recommend this place for all your tire needs. Fast and reasonable! read more

They are competitive and Al still rules the roost. Ask for Mike. He's friendly, fast and efficient. If you call let it ring. They are helping a lot of people in the showroom. But once they pick up you will have their full attention. And whatever they don't have they can get in one day. read more

Great changing my tire, fast efficient, reasonable and went above what was expected. Put the donut and tools back in their places in the trunk, nice surprise. Highly recommend ! read more

Excellent shop and service. I brought one of company trucks in to fix a slow leak. The tire wasn't repairable but they got us a suitable replacement at an very fair price. Didn't have to wait long at all and the treated us like we were going there for years. We will now. Thanks guys. read more

I had a very specific tire that I needed to get because our car was leased. Mike spent an hour trying to find it for us in the timeframe we needed (24 hours because we were leaving the next day). Great Service, ask for Mike! read more

4 Tires balancing and installation. Front and rear wheel alignments in only 45 minutes? Supermen or Magician or What?

Southampton Tires is the best! I was able to get everything I needed. Oil change, breaks and tires. In and out super fast! The new owners have really turned this place around. 10/10 would recommend read more

I've done business with Al since the late 1960's. Back in those days when I was a pauper, I'd buy recaps. For $50 you'd have basically four new tires. They would last for 10,000 miles. Now it's a little more expensive, but the service is good, and they don't beat you with heavy handed pricing. Some yelper's grouse that the service reps are unresponsive; not true. It's a busy place and there are only two counter reps. Impatient spoiled People with more money than brains can't seem to understand that you've got to Wait Your Turn! God speed Al ! read more

Nick and Carol are the most hard working and generous couple on the East End! They get you in and out fast! I have been coming here for almost 20 years and always a fair price for name brand tires. Quick oil change and inspection while U wait. I can't tell you how many times they've plugged a flat for no charge and merely said " come back when you need tires"! And I DO! read more

After Saturday's (1/9/21) horrible experience with Mavis Tire in Riverhead I visited Southampton Tire Center today. An unexpected surprise. Although I was told they were short two mechanics today my vehicle was serviced within the promised time. Very polite staff and the price was very reasonable compared to Mavis. They had a reputation in the past of being more expensive than other shops and the owner and wife were not the friendliest. They are still family run with a younger, much friendlier family member running the business. Will not hesitate to visit them again when I purchase my tires in the spring. Thanks again for a great experience. read more

Had the best experience, had a tired change and inspection done! Super professional staff thank you!! Highly recommend!!!

Had a flat on the LIE the night before ,AAA changed it but spare was also no good. Filled with air and made it to Southampton, where I had to leave things overnight. This place looked at the original tire-flat number one- and said it was not only fine, but brand new, never used!!! Literaaly argued with me that it couldn't be flat b/c it was never driven on!! Wtf? Drove on it to work , and back, and ,of course, it went flat. DUH. Is this some kind of peculiar scam? Prank? Did they not like my bumper sticker? Incompetence? How could that be- this is their long running business! read more

Beware of the con! After getting my front brakes done here 8,000 miles ago, I brought my car in for a front ball joint replacement. I was surprisingly told I needed (gasp) $1,100 of service!! Knowing this to be about double what I should be paying I asked to see the work itemization and low & behold they had "New Front Brakes & Rotors". I explained they had just done my brakes only 8,000 miles ago and that they were fine. I heard a "That's impossible" as the old lady walked back to check the car. She came back dismissively saying that they did the back brakes, not the front, which was an absurd lie. I nicely told her I can show her their receipt for the front brakes & that I had JUST gotten the back brakes done 500 miles ago elsewhere. The old lady got flustered, realizing she had been caught, and then put on a sudden zealous cranky attitude & said "Well if you're not going to do ALL the things on the list, due to liability I won't do any work on your car." My jaw dropped with the continued absurdity as I had just used my one free AAA tow to have the car towed there. So basically the bottom line was: if they couldn't rip me off for brakes I didn't need, they wouldn't do the ball joint replacement at all. Not exactly the quality you look for in an auto repair center. I paid for a 2nd tow ($$) and got the work done at a shop a couple miles away and the entire bill was only $575. When I asked this mechanic about the front brakes he said they were in good condition, were only half worn, and the rotors weren't even close to needing replacement. Beware of the STC con! Since this happened I've caught wind of several other similar abusive incidents where STC insists on unnecessary repairs, and blurt out similar "it's their way or the highway" or "have to do it because of liability" BS. They probably didn't count on a bad Yelp review when they spewed their old-school ripoff terminology. Only positive thing is that they didn't hold my car hostage when I had a tow truck show up to have the car taken elsewhere. On a final note, the STC mechanic who I spoke to also had a rather doomsday attitude, truly "putting it on" to make my car seem worse than it was. I think his first lines were (shaking his head) "oh man, it's bad, it needs new everything". After 30 years of car owning I can smell BS when I see it and I was kind of surprised to see it here. I could tell in 30 seconds he was exaggerating the situation when his explanations to my questions weren't exactly viable ("you must have a bad brake caliper"), and immediately got a 2nd mechanic shop's opinion (see above) which was roughly half their estimate and brakes were reported as "good". Just saying... Never going back. read more

I had to wait a couple hours, but these guys repaired my leaking Pirelli tire for $40, versus $300+ for a replacement. A quirky but skilled and honest outfit. In Southampton no less! read more

I would give zero stars if I could. I recently brought my car to them with a tire bubble. They told me that my rim was bent as well. I told them that I have rim insurance. Since they do not take rim or tire insurance, I advised them that I would go through my dealership and to not do any work. I go to pick up the car and the rim and tire are off of my car and the donut is on it. I did not authorize this. When I question them they say that they could not re-seat the tire on the bent rim. OK, fine ... but I never authorized them to do anything!!! I am told that if I don't want to work through them that my key is in the car and the old rim and tire are in the trunk. So, the next day I bring the car to my dealership to have them fix it. When the dealership attempts to work on the car the original rim and tire are not in the trunk! I call the clowns at Southampton tire and the response was, "Yeah, we must've forgot to put it back." Considering the dealership is in Smithtown and my rim is in Southampton ... this was a huge inconvenience. When I went back to pick up my equipment all I got back was my rim ... the tire was off of the rim and gone. Granted, it needed to be replaced. But again, I did not authorize them to do anything. The customer service here is awful, the parking lot is a nightmare and the work is subpar (i had an alignment done by them on a separate visit that I had to have fixed by a competent mechanic). Steer clear. Awful ... awful ... awful. read more

I needed a rare trailer tire and a rim and these folks had it. Not only that, but after I called they mounted the tire and rim even though I hadn't paid or even confirmed we wanted it. I drove out ( incredibly convenient ), grabbed tire and rim at a great price and went on my way. Thank you again SH Tire! Oh, and despite being quite busy on a Saturday, the owner came out and inspected my tires, rims and called us road worthy! read more

Payed premium price plus for 4 tires, very little discount for cash, lost one of my hub caps. Al used to give me a fair shake, not with the present help. Never going back! read more

There aren't many places in the Hamptons where prices aren't inflated. Southampton Tire is the best of the best. Honest and Reliable! Family owned business! If you need tires don't worry they have them in stock. You can drive to a big chain shop in Riverhead and be told we don't have it but we'll have it tomorrow. I hope Southampton Tire is around for the long haul. Very sad to hear about Carols passing I hope Al can hang in there. We need businesses like this in the Hamptons. read more

Though maybe one is caught in the only real game in town, and the owners might seem at first to be rude and dismissive (which I suppose they can be), they love kids and show their kindnesses when the customers least expect it. They're old hands and have great tires and wonderful hardworking people putting them on. Worth the wait if you can give in to the hours here in such a busy place!! An exercise in Zen mindfulness. And afterwards you drive away with new tires!! read more

Don't complain about their prices: they just charged me $40 to fill a hole in a tire I really thought I had to replace - and they did it in an hour and a half on a busy August Saturday! I have come here several times in the past, gotten timely service and never had my long time mechanic complain about the tires they put on. read more

They might do good work.... However, the customer service is atrocious! I went in there to have new wheels and matching lug nuts installed on my vehicle. Prior to the installation, I called the shop to find out if the wheels and lug nuts were delivered... The woman who answered the phone was very dismissive and said, "if they were sent here, then they are here". When I went to pick up the car, I asked about my old chrome lug nuts with locks. The counter person said, "We always throw them away" and she scoffed at me. I subsequently called a buddy of mine who is in the automotive business and asked if throwing away lug nuts is common. He said, absolutely not, and they always return used customer parts regardless. They are too rude for me.... read more

Can these people just retire already so a professional can start running this place. Twice I've been told that a requested job couldn't be done. Both times they were wrong. Then the time when they did manage to get the tires I needed they made me wait nearly 3hrs when they said it was an hour and 15min. This location is just too convenient to have a "stuck in his ways" dinosaur run this place. read more

Price was fair and I didn't wait long. However, they scratched the HELL out of the aluminum wheel on my less-than-one-year-old vehicle. This is not a "woops" with a wrench or tool. These are scratches across several spokes and the center cap.. Spoke with some friends in the area and was told the "IDGAF" attitude is rampant among the owners and workers. "Don't bother" complaining, they said. So glad they prance around with rubber gloves to protect their delicate hands. Too bad they don't have enough pride or concern to treat my property the same way. Do yourself a favor and take a picture of your wheels before you get any work done. Inspect them before you pay. Apparently this is nothing new. I'm not sure if they would treat a Mercedes the same way; my vehicle only cost 40k. Never going back. I'll take it to the dealer. read more

Reasonable prices and fast efficient service. Yes, they give food to those in need from the area. Reason enough for me to always recommend Southampton Tire. read more

I've gone here for at least the past 10 years because I can count on good service, fair prices and honest recommendations. Would recommend. read more

Hamptons BS free zone! Extremely honest, courteous and fast! I needed my tire replaced after a blowout on the road He replaced my blown tire and told me I only needed the one, that the others were nearly new. These owners deserve your business! Overhead at the counter. The owner was telling a caller that if her son got there soon it would be an hour and a half wait (behind those of us already there!) for service. I could hear her yelling at him. He said "Wait I know your son. He missed his appt yesterday afternoon cause he was too drunk to drive, missed this morning's appt at 7:30 where I promised him a 30 minute wait, and he's not here now at 9:30. So let me get this straight, you are giving me attitude because your son's priorities are all messed up? Ma'am this is what's called a lose lose situation for you." And hung up on her. Another station said I need a tire due to a small nail in outer portion of tread. SH Tire questioned this and was able to patch. I came in expecting to buy a tire without question. They saved me $100+. this is an honest approach to business. read more

Very reasonable prices for the area. Didn't try to upsell anything, unlike the dealers do.

The owners are incredibly rude, especially the woman at the counter (Carol?) who replied to nearly all of my inquiries with snide remarks and condescending attitude. She took a call while helping me and was noticeably rude and condescending to that person as well. When she hung up she turned to an employee and said something along the lines of "they just get stupider and stupider." I should absolutely NOT hear the owner of a business call a potential customer stupid for asking questions about a subject they might not be as educated on right in front of me and several other customers. Otherwise, the service from the mechanics was acceptable but disorganized. Overall, I would steer clear away from this place. People who treat their customers like they do do not deserve to stay in business. read more

They have decent prices but they have biggest selection on east end. Hopefully if you go there you get the older gentleman behind the counter because the older woman has poor social skills and her customer service behavavior is rude. I would never use vulgar language with a customer you don't know personally or raise my voice decibel either. Besides that there good as far as price and selection. read more

Extremely rude treatment from owners who won't answer reasonable questions about tire choices. We paid what they asked and waited patiently. They were still rude! To make matters much worse, they left our car unlocked with the windows open and the key in it. All of our CDs disappeared. They claim that they aren't responsible! They are lousy to do business with. read more

Quick, efficient service. Got a large screw in the tired and they fixed it quickly. My whole family has been going here for years!

If you want to wait FOUR hours to have your car inspected and be treated horribly by the owner, Al, this is the place for you. They've always been somewhat infriendly but as I've been coming here for years I was used to it in some perverse way. I finally left without the inspection. There are many other places in Southampton where the people are polite and helpful and that's where I'm heading. Not sure why they think they're so special that they can treat their customers so badly, but their behavior should be exposed. read more
