I just love this place. The prices are normally unbeatable and its opened 24/7. It is very coconveniently located off of Hwy 80. I normally tell my relatives and ffriends who come to visit from the City to fill up their tank on their way back. Their best deal applies to the cash or atm users. Avoid this Safeway at all costs! FOR MANY REASONS: 1) CURTIS - Somehow this "long term employee" is still working there. I have passed by multiple times asking for help, with none given. One time even he was on his iPhone chatting away loudly on company time I'm sure. He is constantly disheveled in appearance and has very long, smelly "dreadlocks" that should be trimmed or tied up in a bun if he is to stock milk or produce. When he has assisted me as a checker (unfortunately), he took NO care in bagging my groceries, handled my bread like an accordion and threw the receipt at me without so much as a thank you. He is a true example of someone who needs to rethink their career choice. If I could give him zero stars I would. 2) PARKING - Couldn't possibly be any worse! On the South side there is a very small lot which you will always be greeted by some homeless beggar on your way in, it has very poor lighting to boot. The East side by the two entrances there is a line of stalls but those might as well be compact spaces and no one there puts carts back or the employees do not return them so it is futile, and the worst is the North side which is full of people waiting 30minutes + to get the worst quality gas, and there have been MULTIPLE reports of break-ins and vandalism here. Don't believe me? READ OTHER REVIEWS! 3) WAIT TIMES - This horrible location does not have a self-check and the LOW quality staff (SEE #1) could care less if the lines are going all the way down the aisle or not. They simply do not care and move at a snail's pace while YOU the customer pay the price. MORE THAN ONCE have I dropped the item I was going to buy and left. 4) SELECTION - This location NEVER and I mean NEVER stocks one simple item that I always come to Safeway for, the Arizona Tea Lemon 1Gallon bottles! The lines are always long. The prices are reasonable not too high I do love that they have a gas station at this location it makes things a little more convenient. I wish they would hire more cashiers sometimes I'll walk out because the line is too long but they do have everything you need so I'll continue to shop here read more

If you like parallel parking, you'll love this gas station. It is set up so that you need to parallel park to gas up. I found this very awkward - especially with so many people rounding about their cars. Good think I can parallel park from many years of living in SF. Absolutely horrible experience. I went to get a breakfast burrito and the lady was literally cussing a storm... Great prices comparable with Costco minus the Costco membership card and it also offers the 3 types of gas (minus diesel I believe). Safeway card = extra 3 cents off However it loses stars for the 1 way, 2 lanes, and 4-5 pumps on either side. There's usually solicitors so beware. Heres a BIG TIP, unless you have a huge vehicle, the hose is long enough to reach on either side of your car so go to the shorter line and park really close to the pump. It should reach. Location is good, off Georgia I believe. The one in American Canyon has a Costco setup with multiple pumps per several lanes, so if you can I suggest going there. Less ghetto for sure. read more

I'm convinced that the management of this store doesn't care about it's customers, the deli, bakery, and butcher as well as 1 of 2 entrances to the store all close at 7 which is prime shopping hours for a lot of people. I live a few blocks away from this store and it's close proximity to home no longer saves me time due to the fact that they rarely have more than 2 cashiers at a time, which causes the lines to spill into the aisles which in turn makes the store hard to shop. Often times the aisles and shelves are missing essential items such as bottled water. I usually pay the extra it costs to shop at safeway for quality and service both of which this store is lacking. read more

This was the third safeway I went to in an attempt too order hot food from the food court but there was a line for sandwiches which was about 7 people long and only one person was working at the time so I left I dont think a 20+ minute wait is worth it so I ate some churchs chicken instead wont be back to safeway for a while read more

Avoid "Ghetto Safeway" at all costs. I have been screwed over so many times at this place. Only 1-2 cashiers are ever working, anytime of the day. Recently, the checkout line was halfway down the entire isle. Stupid customers plus horrible employees equals lots of wasted time. The manager is the most worthless piece of crap ever. I've spoken to him twice and he just does not care. One time, I was ignored for over 10 minutes in the deli. Another time it took 20 minutes to get a balloon filled because the employee was MIA. The service counter closes at 7:00 pm and I could not get a bus pass at 7:10 pm. The whole back of the store smelled like rotten eggs once. Are you listening Safeway? This place is crap and you should fire the manager and take down your sign. read more

There is always a line here, but that's probably because they typically have the cheapest gas. I shop at Safeway stores so often that I always have gas discounts and this location is on my way from SF to Tahoe so I stop here a lot. It is usually clean and I have never had a problem here. My only complaint? The window cleaners are broken. read more

Just happened to stop at this Safeway store as I was passing through Vallejo..... I almost turned around and left, the entrance to the store was disappointing. It smelled like urine, and there was trash everywhere, I'm a regular shopper at Safeway and never have I ever seen one this dirty outside. Whoever runs this location should make sure the entrance is power washed every morning and trashed swept. Sketchy looking outside but I like the store itself. The prices are decent and the sales are good. They have great selections and meat, produce, and bakery are very good. The staff is nice, the store is clean. The gas prices are outstanding too! Butttt. Pretty sure I saw a women shitting in a bush outside in the parking lot. Twice now crazy people with crazy affects have been in the store trying to get me to engage in their crazy . Two dudes almost got in a fight in a check out aisle. People park their cars strangely because the parking lot is a bitch. I saw kids opening up the packages of bakery cookies from the back and eating them. Assistant manager was super nice! But everything else sucked! This Safeway is understaffed and one review was so on -- someone complained about one person manning the hot food and sandwich station. Well, still the same issue because the woman working there the other night could have cared less about other people waiting and just gave us a look like -"you gonna have to wait". This is closest and most convenient to home, so it's my default grocery. The produce department is very capable, with meat and bakery coming in second. Problem is the "new" parking lot. The south entrance is very, very, badly designed. It crimps up the traffic, and if you're not paying attention, you'll scuff your tires or dent your rims for sure. Neither Safeway nor the City of Vallejo should've signed off on this disaster entrance. In fact, they should tear it up and rebuild it, simply as a courtesy to us PAYING customers. For that matter, the north/west entrance by the gas station sucks, too. Bad design all around. Mi Pueblo is closing in on them due to better prices, awesome veggies, the killer food court, and a more manageable parking situation. read more

Always a line but it's one of the cheapest gas stations in the Bay Area. Employees have done a good job at setting out lane separators so there's no chaos, cutting, etc. Hoses are long enough where you can pull into either side no matter which side your gas tank is on. read more

I have been to this Safeway a few times & I have always had a good experience. The store is neat & organized, the employees are friendly. I have been to a couple of other Safeway stores in Vallejo & it was the exact opposite. Disorganized, poor customer service. I would rather shop here than the Safeway which is closer to my house! Update: things were fine here until today, the checker (& the office manager) gave me an attitude about getting cash over from my transaction. This is a holiday (Labor Day) & its 8 am. Of course people are going to want to get cash back! I would say they need to have more cash on hand in their registers, its not my problem. You need to post something at all your registers saying there is a limit for cash to be given to a customer ($75.00 or whatever) don't cop an attitude with the customer! read more

He has been working here for as long as I can remember and each time I come in he has the most natural, genuine friendly energy a person can have. This store should have a zero rating, I stopped shopping here but when Gas prices dropped i returned because I could not beat the price. However, its still the same crappy store. The gas station on a Friday had no person in the little cube, and there was a sign that said use your credit card. What the HECK! why would I use my credit card when I get a discount for using cash. I have filed more than one complaint with Safeway's regional offices, but what for because they do not do anything but have the looser manager who identifies herself as the Store Director call and ask you to come back. When you do come, she is hiding in her office on the telephone, the lines are long, and people are frustrated. Stop hanging stupid signs that say customers are important when obviously we are not. I went in the store to buy donuts, but there were no donuts because Kimberly apparently decided to cut all of the staffs hours so many of the staff quit. (This is what she said to me over the course of her telephone call asking me to return. I am still trying to figure out why she would call and volunteer to tell me this) When I complained to the Safeway Corporate office, well nothing. Until the new store Director "Kimberly" called me. She asked me to return so on Saturday when I did go back, the lines were long, the checkers were calling her and again still the same crappy store, long lines, creepy people milling about outside, a dishonest store manager who identifies herself as a Sore DIRECTOR! I can't believe Albertsons because that is who own's Safeway, they clearly don't care about customers, because they have these dreadful Store Manager. KIMBERLY please don't call me to tell more lies.
