This is our favorite Raleys/Nob Hill. We have a Raleys closer to us, but we'd rather drive here. We also are in Martinez a few times a week and go to Nob Hill often, but this one is the best to us! This store is well stocked. This store has a great parking lot. The store is always cleaned & employees seem great! We like their meat, produce & bread. Just a tip for you all...... Pay attention to your transactions at the checkout counter, and check your receipt before walking out! This morning, I got charged $54.78 for 22 cucumbers when I only had two in my cart. It's a good thing I flagged that high $$$ total and stopped to look at my receipt, because I knew there had to be a mistake. Be vigilant folks....groceries are pricey enough without being victim to carelessness or indifference. That extra $50 that I got back is essential! read more

My favorite place to get a sandwich, and the cheapest place too! Other sandwich shops charge 18 bucks for a freaking sandwich, but you can get a freshly sliced sandwich for $9.99! The best sandwich maker at deli, is an amazing lady, named Debra Jean! She always makes my sandwiches perfectly and never fails to ask me if I need anything else. Havent been in this Raley's for years...its a lot bigger than I rememeber. It' always been clean and well stocked better than a lot of stores I ve been too. Leaving work in Benicia today I decided to explore the sales adds. Raley's has quality produce and a good meat counter...but food is high everywhere. Raleys unfortunately is no exception to inflation. The BaKery and deli are always a fun little spin in the store...I really wanted a piece of cake but reigned myself in til the weekend. What they need is a better self-check out system...its a little to smailler of an area for that big of a store when is crowded. The cashiers seemed to be handling the lines ok... slightly slow but void of ghetto antics like at Safeway. I can go visit on a less busy time. Ciao for now... read more

Raleys delivery SUCKS. If you want milk, bread, or any other dated perishable food that's regularly delivered with a week or less left before the "Use By" date then go ahead and order from these jerks. The first time or two this happened I thought it might be a fluke but after many orders for our business the the perishables are always almost out of time. It seems to me from this experience Raley's uses the delivery service as way to dump there almost out of date product on customers who are too busy or house bound or sick or can't drive or a hundred other reason one might not be able to shop in person at the store. Seems like a pretty crappy way to treat your customers. Not too smart or very good for the bottom line either. Safeway will get our business from now on. read more

We've been regularly going to this Raley's for the past 3 years and I don't have anything bad to say other than the lines can be very long at times. The employees have always been nice, cordial and helpful to us. Some may be a little more quiet than others (younger ones) but anytime I make small talk at the register, they instantly get chatty. I once dropped a can of Kombucha and it started fizzing all over the place. I went to get help and a young man from the produce area (Jonathan?) came to help me. I kept apologizing but he didn't seem inconvenienced or anything, and was super friendly so I complimented a supervisor on my way out. The prices are up? Where aren't they higher? A lot of things have gone up in price all over and unless you want to take the time to coupon, go to grocery outlet or discount stores, then you'll probably pay a bit of a higher price shopping at Raley's. The deli/bakery ladies (Kiki, Terri/Ms. Perfect?) are really nice too and they're usually super busy. I've gone on multiple occasions where I'm 7th in line waiting for a sandwich with customers barking orders at them, no please or thank you in sight. I go out of my way to thank them and they've always gone above and beyond to help me with my purchases. Lastly, all of the managers and supervisors I've met have always been truly great. I'm sure every situation is different than the other but recently we left a gift card at the register after check out. It was never recovered or turned into lost and found, but a supervisor named Alex issued us a replacement for the trouble. We shop here every week and will continue to do so. read more

Had a potluck event to attend this past Saturday. Three days before I ordered a fruit platter and Spinach dip from Safeway. 2 hours before the event Safeway emails to cancel my order?! I went to Raleys just on a hope and a prayer. I went to the Deli to order a couple of footlongs I could maybe cut up. After speaking to Kerri and Kiki about my problem they went to into action ! I was so amazed at their empathy and service I felt like they were family! They made me a nice quick platter for the party! Kiki and Kerri are true blessings! Raley's Benicia is a decent store in some respects. The staff generally is nice and helpful, which is very good. But... 1. It's impossible to get through to them by phone, particularly the meat department. I've tried repeatedly on various days, at various times of day, with no answer other than a recording loop. 2. Their "humane" option for chicken is Foster Farms free range, which really isn't necessarily very humane at all. For these reasons, I sometimes shop elsewhere even though I live closest to Raley's. read more

Been going to this Raleys since I moved to Benicia in 1988. Has always been my go to store over the local Safeway but I think that is about to change! Over the last year this store's Customer Service has steadily gone down hill. I always go different days of the week in morning between 9am and 11am! They will have one or maybe 2 checkouts open no matter how many people in line. The Checkers seem to be very unhappy and pass that vibe on! The Checkers will constantly talk amongst each other and stop scanning your items. The 2 regular Baggers they have in morning are VERY SLOW! Yesterday 10/6/25 I went at about 9:30am and picked up a few items. Had 2 checkouts open and both had multiple people in line with full carts! The line I was in the Checker had some type of problem with checkout of the customer ahead of me and she literally left the checkout 2 times to I guess check with someone? Never once said anything about delays. Then kept asking another Checker questions! I was literally in line about 25 minutes. Long enough that my frozen items began to defrost! Terrible Service and not one apology! This store used to have Happy Efficient Checkers but now has turned into a miserable checkout experience. 3/18/26 Raleys is mid. Food choice is ok. Drinks and soda choice is just ok. You can get less expensive alcohol at locally owned Sips. The meat department lacks except for the basics. Can't get custom amounts of the most common meats. Need a half pound of ground beef? There is only a 1 1/2 pounder! Good luck getting the butcher for help. Seafood is just the basics, mostly frozen. You ring the bell and nobody shows up. The bakery is nothing special. I had three grocery bags rip before I made it to the car. They literally have nothing special. Which is such a shame because Safeway is not much better and Benicians deserve more. There is nothing that makes the shopping experience pleasant. There are ALWAYS lines. It's spring and there is not a perch or plum in sight. Everything is expensive, $3.99 for a head of iceberg lettuce for example. read more

This is a review for the sandwich makers in the deli. Cindy has to go! She's the absolute worst. A total clueless moron. I used to get Turkey Jalepeno Melts 3-4 times per week before COVID. About $50 most weeks spent on sandwiches. One of my favorite sandwiches. Since then they stopped pre-making them. Now whenever I want a Turkey Jalepeno melt.... Cindy is always the only one making sandwiches. Constantly overwhelmed and it shows. Shes been making sandwiches for years and they are always a train wreck. She gets frustrated so easily and literally takes forever to make a simple sandwich. You would think more than one person would be making sandwiches during the lunch rush but that concept is clearly lost on whoever manages the deli. I implore whoever is reading this from Raley's to reassign Cindy to anything else. Sweeping floors? Maybe she can greet people at the door like Walmart. She cannot make a decent sandwich to save her life and I am over the top pissed off she's always the only one behind the counter. Can't believe she's maintained her employment. I will give them zero stars if I could. I attempted to write a check their last week and the cashier said that I must stay in Benicia in order to write a personal check. I shop there all the time and spend at least 800 dollars a month on it. The cashier said it a new corporate policy which to doesn't make sense. Always clean and nice service, but giving three stars here for two reasons: 1) Retail markup of their wine is a massive smoke screen. When you think you're getting a deal by purchasing a 6-pack (save 30%), you're still getting screwed. For example, 2022 Duckhorn Chardonnay retails for $38.00 at the winery for one bottle. Raley's sells a single bottle for $45.99 (+16%). But if you buy a 6-pack, it's $32.99/bottle. I can get a single bottle for $31.99 at other retailers like KL, Wine.com, etc. There are other examples of material markups at this store. 2) POS displays in the aisles make two grocery carts impassable. Further problematic when vendors are restocking. The latter item is just vendors doing their jobs, but the price gouging needs to end. Will look elsewhere for some of my purchases. read more

Terrible customer service in self Checkout. Two employees yacking about their personal life while my please wait symbol went round and round. I re-entered all pertinent info and it said please wait again. I entered ALL relevant info. Finally, I said excuse me to the clerks and one aggressively and condescendingly came at me and shoved prompts down my throat. She wouldn't even let me talk. She and her coworker were out of line. The other woman came at me like a wet cat because I said she'd be better suited to work at a woman's prison and her coworker needed estrogen. I'm a woman, shouldn't have responded that way. So I apologize for that. Can you two try to remember how you treated people when you needed that job. I just went through a death in the family. More expensive than Whole Foods with lousy customer service. I went to Raley's specifically to buy a rose wine for a party. I needed six bottles and when you buy six you get a 30% discount. They only had five on the shelf and no one working in the wine department who could bring out another case. The cashier was very sweet but wouldn't give me the 30% discount even though I would have bought six bottles if they had had six bottles. A store with good customer service would have honored the discount since the problem was with their stock, not with me as a customer. I ended up leaving a cart full of groceries instead. I went to Whole Foods and found the same wine with the same 30% off deal, but $1 a bottle cheaper. Plus much better customer service... I guess I won't be going back to Raley's any time soon. read more

For 30 years I did all of my grocery shopping @ Benicia Raley's. It is very out of my way, but it served all of my dietary needs. When they remodeled the store, they destroyed the convenience of shopping there. Rarely can I find the vegan products that I need (I am highly allergic to dairy & other food items). Yesterday I attempted to shop at the Benicia store. I could not locate the vegan bacon that had been advertised. Many shelf areas were empty. Rarely can I find a stock of almond cheese. I ordered a sandwich from Cyndie in the deli today. I'm not real picky but that sandwich was one of the worst I've ever had. I ask her if the bread was fresh because it didn't look to be. She said "it's better for you than wheat" not sure why she thought I would want stale bread in lue of fresh bread? Raley's is the grocery store that is facing stiff competition with Safeway. This grocery store is one of the biggest I have seen in the area. Benicia surely struck GOLD when Raley's open in the area. I check this store out and I was impress how the inside turned out. This has to be the cleanest grocery store that I have gone inside. They surely know how to keep the store maintain. I was surprise that this store has an actual Wells Fargo Bank inside with tellers. Safeway only has Wells Fargo ATM but Raley's got tellers to help you with your account. I wish the Raley's in Vallejo didn't shut down. I truly miss that location because it also had a Wells Fargo inside with tellers. This Raley's has online grocery shopping. I have seen Raley's staff pull products off the shelves and prepare them to be send out for delivery. It is amazing that Benicia residents would do online grocery shopping. Raley's, the other grocery store beside Safeway. Let's just hope Raley's can survive competition with Safeway. read more

I am new to Raley's and have been receiving coupons that I appreciate and try to use. Even though this is at least a 15 minute drive from my house I thought it would give it a try. Today I arrived on this Wednesday, 2/07/24 and I wanted to buy some tri-tips in the meat department when I went to the meat department, I stood in front of the service counter where you pick out a steak and they wrap it for you I was there for at least five minutes nobody showed up. I went over to the people at the sushi wrapping station and asked them if they could get somebody for me in the meat department. They ran a bell. I went and waited at least seven to maybe 10 minutes patiently nobody came. I saw the bell, and I rang it for about 10 seconds. Two meat department people came out, one look like a meat cutter and the other looked he was dressed like a wrapper. He did not have a meat cutting apron on and he had a real attitude like why am I ringing the bell, and I explain to him that I've been waiting for over 10 minutes and nobody's here. We rang the other bell. Nobody showed up now I rang it and you come up here with an attitude he didn't say hello. How are you? Nothing his customer service skills were an F . I asked him if he could pick me out a tri-tip out of the case a good one and all he did was pick the first one without even looking at it and I had three others from the case out front self service case, and I asked him if he could double wrap them all he just took them all doubled wrapped them. There was no acknowledgment. In our conversations I ask him. How's he doing today and try to have a conversation with him but he wasn't recognizing it or acknowledging it. He acted like I was a bother to him?? I went to the self, check out out front and ask for the store manager and the manager did not show up just a shift supervisor, I asked her if she was a manager she said yes I'm the manager at this time I explained the situation about the gentleman named Anthony I was a burden to him, asking him for assistance or service in the meat department in the area that is specifically for that as I explained the situation she never said anything just kind of shrugged your head as if this is not the first time dealing with him. I wasn't sure what was going to go on from there. She didn't say anything and walked away. I checked out and think the person oversee the self checkouts. It was 10 o'clock when I checked out what could be so important that a meat clerk could not help a customer buying about $60 worth of meat instead he showed unsatisfactory Customer service no appreciation no mannerism zero if I was the store manager I know the meat department is union and the store personnel are not. I would have a talk with the meat manager, because obviously they don't appreciate people coming in spending money and basically providing them a job where they get paid weekly. This gentleman Anthony's customer service skills were an F there's no excuse for it.! at this point I'm not sure if I'll ever return. I got terrible service from this gentleman. Anthony and the man are in charge or key carrier really didn't say much to me at all. She just shook nodded her head, and I believe went back to the meat department, so I have no idea about the outcome whatsoever. I've given this location more than enough visits to redeem themselves -staff are rude and always present themselves as miserable being there -difficult to find items and when you're able to actually find someone to assist you they say and point 'I think it's over there' or 'I think it's isle _' Just today I asked the location of the larger bottles of lemon and lime juice... and got the same 'I think it's...' and was it? This review is in regards to their e-cart service. My brother and his family always order their groceries via e cart and they love it. You can easily get your items and schedule your pick up, you just drive up and text the number at your scheduled time but you do this after they tell you your pick up is ready. They were an hour behind for my pick up. I even went to browse within the store and boy were the lines so long, I turned right around and decided to go back later. read more

This place looks nice. That's about the end of the positives. On almost every visit, there seems to be something that's incorrectly priced--as in, when you get to the register, it rings up as something different than what was marked on the signs. One time three separate items rang up differently (more expensive than marked, of course). I don't know how hard it is to correctly price your groceries, but this Raley's struggles to do that basic task. Everything here is pricey. There are occasional specials that can be pretty good (Intelligentsia Coffee dropped down to $10 a bag), but mostly you'll just be debating if you really want to pay that price or calculate how much you'd have to buy at Costco to make up for the gas prices to drive out there (example: you can get 2 full Alfaro's sourdough loaves at Costco for less than the price of 1 at Raley's). The bakery is disappointingly bland. The cheese section is so overpriced and limited that you'll want to drive all the way to Trader Joe's in Fairfield instead of buying anything here. On a more positive note, the alcohol selection, especially the wine, is quite solid, especially for non-US wines. But the catch is you essentially have to buy 6 bottles at a time since the "regular" price is deliberately far overpriced (do you detect a theme here?). I rarely interact with the staff since the lines are often very long for the registers. Wish they did have more staff at the self-checkouts since those always seem to have something that goes wrong as well and then you're stuck looking for an employee. Overall this is a pretty miserable place to be forced to shop at, yet it's still better than the decrepit Safeway down the hill. read more
