This Safeway has been a nightmare all the 8 years since I moved nearby. Outrageous lines, managers who don't care about squat. Now employees who aren't wearing mask correctly if at all. One sneezed on a customer's groceries because she asked him to wear the mask over his nose not only his mouth. She did not even receive a refund for her groceries! I went to the deli and Katie's personality and crappy customer service was as cold as the macaroni and cheese that she just put in the window. Ordered a birthdaycake on Friday, went to pick it up today and it wasn't ready. The bakery lady was very nice but the bad experience came from the manager on duty. He was not understanding of the situation at all. He gave a very half assed apology and didn't even offer a solution. The excuse was that the manager hadn't checked his email for the cake order. Safeway as a corporation should highly reconsider the manager of this store. Because this is unacceptable, and self explanatory with the pictures. Door hinge is broken as if the door was busted down. So if you are using the restroom then someone could walk right in on you. There's a rather large hole in the ceiling above the toilet that you can see clearly in space above and if someone was above they have a clear view of you using the restroom. Rude employees! After telling a clerk I was there for seafood, I was sent to the meat counter only to find out it was closed. Then I went up front and was told I had missed the sale. The delivery service from Safeway is nothing like Amazon or Whole Foods. It is the worst delivery service I have had the experience to deal with. I made an order 2 days ago and the driver claimed that no one was here. I was here waiting for the delivery which I PAID for. So now it is 2 days later and Safeway still has my money and has yet to deliver my order. I used Chat to make a complaint and called Customer Service twice and still no order. Another thing they do is send orders without telling you that an item is out of stock or missing. They are holding me hostage because they have the money for my order. I usually come to this Safeway when I am in the area or after work and have no complaints at all. I never spend more than 10 minutes in the store. I am able to find parking right away and get the items I need. I usually do a self check out because it's faster and I don't buy that many things. I also like this location because they have a Starbucks here and the line is never long! You're in and out and I really appreciate that. With COVID 19 happening at the moment the security at the front makes sure every coming in has a mask on or they cannot shop in the store. read more

Who runs out of green cabbage the day before St. Patrick's Day??? (They announced this over the PA!!! Who has two crabs in the seafood case when they are advertised on sale for $5 per pound? After asking for someone to page the meat dept staff, a girl came back with 4 crabs in her arms and threw them in the case! Why were they in the back? Apparently, this store is remodeling the produce section so most of it was empty with a sign apologizing for the inconvenience... This store has really gone down!! Needless to say I won't be back! I live 5 minutes away from this Safeway, but I only shop here when I only have a few items to buy. This is a smaller, older location, without a full service butcher counter (only fresh seafood). The selection of fresh produce is also small. But the real reasons that I don't shop here are twofold: The parking lot is downright scary. When it's busy, it's really crazy. You might have to park all the way down near the Sizzler's during the peak times. In addition, folks don't know how to drive around here. Between cars looking for empty spots to random pedestrians walking in front of traffic, I'm surprised I haven't seen more accidents. This Safeway is always understaffed. The lines are usually pretty deep, and the employees here never seem to be in a hurry, taking their sweet time when all of us just want to make our purchases and get out. And if you have a problem in the self-checkout counter, you might be waiting for 5 minutes before getting assistance. If my wife & I have to do a lot of shopping, we go to any of the other supermarkets in the area. This Safeway is strictly for a quick few items. read more

Granted things are bad during covid. I get it. Things inside the store are different, lines are in new locations. However, if you don't put up any signage how are we, YOUR CUSTOMERS, supposed to know this?!?!?! I stood in front of the deli section, with employees walking back and forth in front of me, no one saying anything, until I got bored and decided not to get anything. 3 TIMES IVE DONE THIS!!! No response no nothing from the 3 to 5 employees always looking out from the prep room or whatever it is. Finally someone, standing in front of me in what we assumed was the line, waved them down and asked if he could be served. She took a solid minute to walk around the tiny wall in front of her to screach out 'The lines over there' point and walk away. Now there was no one in that 'line' there was no way to know that was a 'line' he was literally the next person to be helped in that 'line' Main problem, there were plenty of opportunities for employees to politely mention 'hey we have a line right here' no one did shit!!!!! I called to ask why this was and why they didn't have a sign to help this confusion, and was argued with on the phone told and they 'will never put any kind of sign up here' because corporate would not allow them to put up any signage. (Spoiler, called corporate, they don't know what the hell these guy are talking about. There's nothing to prevent them from putting up anything to clarify policy. Now or ever!) Also, no one seems to care, but my original complaint to them was being overcharged for something (grossly overcharged for something) and just wanted to additionally ask about why there was nothing to clarify an area of confusion. It's 12:45pm on a Sunday and there's ONE person in the Deli and 2 checkout lanes open with lines going ALL THE WAY DOWN THE AISLE TO THE MEAT DEPARTMENT. This update is quite a bit late, but still relevant. Came here the night before Halloween with my dad looking for a last-minute pumpkin for our jack o' lantern. I walked up to a woman who was extremely busy manning the completely deserted self-checkout and engaged in conversation with a fellow employee, excused myself, and asked if they had anymore large pumpkins, because the only ones in the produce department were tiny. She said, "No, sorry," and went back to being very, very busy doing absolutely nothing in her chair. Walked back over to my dad, who was talking to another employee, and I said, "They don't have anymore big pumpkins, just small ones." The employee goes, "You need a big pumpkin? Over in the meat department there should still be some left on the floor under the meat." Sure enough, walking over to the meat department, there were multiple large pumpkins chilling on the floor under where the meat is kept. Upon checking out, the same incredibly helpful, very knowledgeable, very busy woman from the self-checkout came up to shoot the breeze with our cashier, because at that very moment she needed to show off her ID from her "ratchet" days - conveniently, she didn't acknowledge the very huge pumpkin in the bagging area literally under her nose, or us for that matter, nor did she make any effort to apologize for giving us the wrong information due purely to her laziness and ineptitude. This is the worst Safeway I've ever been to in my life. Customer service is non existence. They are extremely RUDE, UNPROFESSIONAL and all need to be retrianed. I usually DO NOT shop at Safeway and now I remember why. Honestly, there isn't one good thing I can say about this particular location. I've had two associates hang up on me when I've called with questions. I've been placed on an indefinite hold when asking for a manager. I boughuht one of Safeway's salads only to find a dead lady bug inside. When I called to let them know, no answer. When I went there to advise them in person with pictures the manager nonchalantly offered me a refund as if I was being a pest. After today, I will never spend another dime at this Safeway. The location is convenient for me but it's hard to like this place with so many problems. I'm often unable to find a cart or basket in the front of this store and it's nearly impossible to enter/exit without someone (usually sketchy) outside trying to hit you up for money. They also recently installed a bunch of security gates but then stopped using them, but of course the cost is being passed along to customers. There are guards but they stand around playing on their phones while the employees at the self checkout just joke around and ignore everything. The final straw for me was a recent purchase of some butter that upon opening I discovered was moldy (I didn't even know butter could get moldy...) and then I realized that it had expired over 3 months ago. I alerted the manager and she admitted that they had a bunch of expired butter on the shelf that had to be pulled after my complaint. read more

I absolutely HATE shopping at my local Safeway. The store is gigantic and they have a good selection of things and a great produce section, but the layout is absolutely horrible. They've created a separate section in the middle of the store for alcohol, medicines and toiletries...with two separate registers for those things. I understand it's for loss prevention, but completely disrupts the flow of the entire store. So annoying. Also, they only have like 10 shopping carts for the entire store. They used to have lots, but I think they've all been stolen, so now there are never any carts outside. The carry baskets are too small and get too heavy when trying to do all my shopping in one spot. I wonder what they're going to as thanksgiving approaches and more people are going to be doing big shopping for family meals. I hate it here. It's the worst. If I'm in a pinch, this is where I come. I come to this Safeway often because it's closest to my house. This Safeway is located in a place that also has TapEx and T4 (boba), wings, bars....so depending on what time you get here, parking can be BRUTAL! Especially around the 3:00-6:00 time. As far as this Safeway, I normally go in the morning right before work on the weekdays. The morning staff is friendly and I'm always greeted with a smile. I have seen some really bad customer service handled at this Safeway though, mainly if I go in the afternoons. There have been times when the person working the register would ignore me and talk to their friend bagging about random personal things, but I expect nothing really more from a Safeway as far as amazing customer service. Once you hit around 12:00 on the weekend, the lines for checkout get pretty lengthy. Even the self checkout will tend to have 6 more people waiting in line. I would be careful with what you buy here. Always look at the item and the "best by"date. There's been a couple of times I've seen or stupidly bought items that were bad. read more

The stupid Rosie instead of pushing her finger away from my face is v helping me answering my question why the machine asked for cashback and charged me said thank you. She is putting her finger in my face.and trying to interefer my bank account pushing the bottom that i am supoosed to use on my account of my debit bank of america. I pushed her finger,away from my face and now she is screaming that i touched her. I have read some negative reviews here. My experiences have been quite the opposite. I've read that the employees are rude but people have to understand that just like most businesses these days they may be understaffed. They don't have time to stop and hold a conversation with you. If you ask for help they will help you. In fact, I have asked for help finding a particular item. Not only will they tell me what aisle it's on but many times they have offered to take me there. Most of the time I refuse but occasionally I have accepted. There is a Safeway closer to my house but I prefer to drive to this location because it's a bigger store and it has a larger selection. One more thing, when it comes to how many items we're allowed to buy, the cashier is following the orders of management. We don't know if the shopper in front of us is sent by management to make sure the cashier is following orders. Well, maybe one more thing. Remember, just like you are stressed during this Corona virus scare so are they. Some are worried about their children and parents and who's taking care of them while they have to work. Someone in full uniform wearing their name tag and everything told me they didn't work there when I asked for help. I have worked grocery stores for over 5 years and that is unacceptable. at least take your name tag off if you're on lunch or something but don't just tell me "I don't work here" when it could not be more obvious you do.
