I scheduled flu/Covid shots online for my 101 year-old mom, my wife and myself. Received an email reminder for all three of us the day before our appointment. When we arrived at Safeway, we went to the counter to let them know we were here. The clerk was apparently born without a personality, and told me I was good to go. He told my wife that she was "not in the system." She showed him her email reminder on her cellphone. She was again told that she was "not in the system" and she would have to fill out a paper form for her shots. I gave the clerk Mom's name. He asked me for her birth date. I gave it to him, and he told me that he had a "different birth date" for mom in his system. I had to fill out a paper form for her shots. The pharmacist did a good job with the shots. This will be the last time I use the Safeway pharmacy, Willow Creek Road. read more

It's nice because it isn't busy. But there is a reason it isn't busy her name is Hannah the pharmacy tech that should not be waiting on customers. She is so unfriendly and rude I thought I was in an old army line. No hello just a cold stare, "Date of birth? Name?" She really has it down on how to make a person feel not welcome. That was my first time there, my second time same cold response, but worse as I had a question on why I wasn't receiving my usual 28 day supply of a product as she just had the 14 day pack. She looks something up and states, "It's your insurance!" I answered, "My insurance has always given me a 28 day supply." After going home and calling my insurance they stated they saw the transaction and the pharmacy filled a 14 day when in fact it was written as a 28 day supply. I have now switched all my meds to mail order. Between Safeway pharmacy and Walgreens on Willow Creek apparently they don't care if their customers are happy. They must get paid regardless whether they have customers or not. read more

Andrew the pharmacist here is great to work with. But Melissa is a pain in the butt. Always countermanding or ignoring my Doctor's orders. I have been voluntarily titrating down from Oxycodone, with the help of my great pain doctor Lee Abbott. I have come down over the last 4-5 months from 8 - 15 mg per day to just 4 with my last script authorized to pick up on Dec 30th, 2025, but because I had surgery for an emergency appendectomy this last month, and I have been in much more severe pain, I had to take more per day than authorized, but I made sure my pain doctor understood everything that was happening. He fully understood my predictiment and was fine with me having to take more for all this extra excruciating pain. He had pre-authorized me to pick up my script for oxy, just 4 per day, today, but Melissa intervened and would not fill it for me because she said I had taken more than originally prescribed. So the only way to get any pain meds from her was to have my doctor change the script to buprenorphine. I was able to struggle over to SW Pharm to pick it up, and it seems to be working, just not as effectively as I had hoped. Nothing that happened to me this last month made any difference to her, in spite of my Doctor's permission and even the sugeon at YRMC West sending in a script for 5 per day, a total of 16 to be taken until I picked up my regular script from her. The scripts did not overlap, but she just did not care. I sure hope I can find a different pharmacy without the Dictatorial Self-righteous attitude that makes her not follow my Doctor's orders. read more

Although this is an older and smaller store by current supermarket standards, this Safeway has a couple good things going for it. The first is the butcher counter. You always see the same, experience, friendly staff working (unlike Fry's. )They always know their product, and they recognize you if you're a regular shopper which is nice. Next is the Deli counter. They have not been over run by overpriced Boars Head products, and offer a variety of quality m, more affordable brands. Third is the customer service. Everyone working here has such a pleasant disposition, and are incredibly helpful. I have needed assistance at the Customer Service Counter a few times, and they are genuinely concerned about my satisfaction beyond just doing their job. It's also nice to be recognized, and acknowledged as such, by the staff. Finally, the pharmacy staff is top notch! This is not my primary pharmacy. In fact, until I could no longer obtain a medication from my regular pharmacy, and my doctor found the medication at this location, I had never considered using them. However, I have had to come here as a secondary pharmacy for the past few months now. I would not hesitateTo recommend this location. The people are exceptional. Of course, Safeway is the ONLY place you can find the world's best tasting NSA (no sugar added) Ice Cream. The deli fried chicken is pretty good too. read more

If it wasn't for the friendly staff and distance to another grocery store I probably wouldn't shop here. The shelves are still rarely stocked, especially with sale items, and the lines are usually long. Be prepared to bag your own groceries cause there's rarely a bagger to help. The new carts are nice but sometimes a pig with lipstick is still a pig. read more

If ever I'm looking for an unusual ingredient in a recipe, I can count on this Safeway to have it. I only shop here when I'm buying a cut of beef-- I've never been disappointed. Abutchers have given me knowledgeable advice about the best cut of beef to use for a recipe. Don't even get me started on their bakery-- yum! read more

In town for a little mini vacation and we need steaks, potatoes, and goodies for the grill and breakfast. I'm happy to find organic asparagus and Safeway selects cheesecake quad assortment!! We don't need a Ruth's Chris to feel fancy. The only downside is the steaks were mainly Chuck and filets were sold out. The cashiers were friendly and the store is clean. We never had to wait in a line more than 1 person deep. read more

Let me start by saying this establishment has the best sandwiches and soup. Unfortunately to go in at lunch time and hope to get a quick sandwich and soup before getting back to work is nearly impossible. We visit the deli at Safeway approximately 2 to 3 times a week during lunch time 12 o'clock. It amazes me thatThere is usually one employee standing behind the counter trying to handle The deli and the bakery. I usually go up to the only single person back there working and ask is there anybody back there that can help us make sandwiches, They usually nod their head and walked to the back an amazingly 3 to 4 other employees come out from behind the wall. Most of the employees will leave the Deli area and one employee will tell you I'll be right with you. I only have so much time for lunch. When we finally get helped the employee States hold on we don't have any supplies to make sandwiches they have to go out into the main store to gather up product. Myself and other customers or standing around looking at each other like this is a circus. We apparently have to find another place to get lunch because this area is mismanaged And that's a shame because they do have excellent food. I have actually watched people turn around and say this is not worth it I'll go somewhere else, I don't blame them the store manager needs to see exactly what's going on in all his or her departments and get people to work not hide. Pharmacy subpar. Male clerk in particular has an attitude. After they couldn't find my prescription (which was there) I endured a round of repetitive questioning until I stepped away and phoned the doctor's office myself. After the doc called them, the prescription magically appeared and was handed to me without so much as a 'Sorry'. Mistakes happen but the attitude is a bit high-handed at this pill shop. They always seem to be busy with inventory or some internal process, hiding behind the partition. After being asked my birthday for the 4th or 5th time I asked the guy if he actually needed my DOB to fill a (one-off) prescription. He said 'yes.' Now, most nice people will say 'yes' and give you a little semi-apologetic explanation why it's required, whether that's by law or company policy, or even tell you it's not required. His curt answer and tone were a bit impolite. But I didn't feel like pursuing that or the question, so I didn't. A few moments later he asked me, with a little edge in his voice, if I wanted a printout of their HIPAA privacy policy. Hmm. Do I feel like reading a page of corporate pablum only tangentially related to the question I asked? Probably not. I had the feeling at this point he was just looking for conflict. I was checking the receipt when he asked me this. So I said: "Why would I want that?" Seemed like a fair question - not everyone would even know what pharm-speak like 'HIPAA' is. This must have flipped his switch, because he responded: 'If you don't want it, don't take it, simple as that.' Really? Enjoy your well-earned low star Yelp review. I noticed later (as I was getting my groceries) some elderly customer asked the same clerk for cough drops or whatever and was spoken to in the same 'faux exasperated' tone. This was the afternoon of 14 Aug 2018. It's sad to have to write this review, because the dozen or so regular Safeway staff (i.e., outside of the pharmacy) I've interacted with over the past year have been good to great. It's like the pharmacy is a little fiefdom on to itself that doesn't play by normal Safeway rules. I'll probably start shopping at Fry's a bit more. read more

Worst shopping experience ever! Had to stop and get 6 items for a bbq. Was running late. Went to the express lane and there was 1 person in front of us checking out. The cashier allowed him to use a bag boy to do his grocery shopping for him as he stood there at the checkout. The bag boy kept going back and forth trying to find the items he wanted. It took 20 MINUTES to check that guy out. The cashiers is nothing to stop him as he was going through the ad looking for other items to send the bag boy to get. We had 4 people behind us so we couldn't get out of line. We finally asked the guy at the checkout if he was going to be done anytime soon and he said no I have 15 items. THE CASHIER DID NOTHING TO STOP THIS. read more

I used to go to this store all the time but for the past few months things have gone downhill. Very few things are in stock, the deli has little to no selection, and the fruits and vegetables look unpleasant and are old. Just today I went in to get a balloon for a birthday party and there was only one person in the entire store that knew how to run the balloon machine. When she finally got over to the balloon area, they were out of every balloon except four choices. Sorry, but I don't want to get my mom a Hello Kitty balloon for her birthday. I would have given this store one star but I gave it two because overall the staff is very nice. I shopped as Safeway a few times just to escape the crowds at Frys. There is no one there because they are way more expensive but if my list was short it was a more pleasant shopping experience...until the last two times. Last time I got cheese at the deli and I asked for thin sliced, I swear the deli guy laughed at me and gave me thick cheese. I left it there. This time I went to get french bread at 2pm and they manager says yeah we're out, the best time to get it anything is before 9am... Um seriously if you run out of bread by 9am you're not making enough. Last time I will step in that store. I know why its so dead. read more
