All in all I am happy with Nave Drive Safeway Pharmacy. I always call in my prescriptions and get a phone call when they are ready for pickup. If I have a rush prescription I don't wait, but hand it in and come back later. Can't see sitting around waiting. Glad they are close to my home, makes it easy. Absolutely avoid. Exceptionally rule and unprofessional staff. I mistakenly tried to get medication refilled here, they refused to fill it unless I would commit to continuity there for Adderall. Subsequently mistakenly my doctor had a prescription sent there, and the rude hens (the staff) called me to inform me they were refusing to fill it. I personally recommend Safeway pharmacy . Always on point with my prescriptions. What a relief! I am not used to such quick, efficient service. Pharmacist always willing to help with my questions. I've Ben going to this pharmacy for about 10 years it's close to my house so that's convenient. The service really varies and depends on who you get. Their use to be a pharmacist there by the name of Nadia, she was wonderful and very caring, Laurel is like that also. So today I went there to pick up a medication that I cannot pickup until I absolutely run out, I'd called a couple days before to make sure it was set up, I got there at about 5 after 9:00am they're suppose to open at 9:00, no one was their and they weren't open, a young Asian woman strolls in at about 9:15, she tells us that she cannot get the computer up and running, anyway I wait another 15 minutes and finally she calls me, I give her my birthdate and I tell her I'm completely out and if I don't take it soon I might get sick because of the pain, she says it's not ready can you come back in a couple of hours , I said no I need it now, she says I don't care I'm all alone, I said I'll wait for an hour , I stand there for about an hour and she finally gives me the medication, she now wants my ID , I called ahead and I go here all the time, no compassion, no customer service, she could care less! read more

One star is one too many for this pharmacy. We had a prescription called in at 2:30pm. Came by around 3:30pm and didn't get handed the medication til 5pm. I was told they only have half of my prescription and have to come back the next day to pick up the rest. BUT it won't be available until 4:00pm! (Yup, exactly...) People are waiting in line and staff just lackadaisically going on their merry way. No sense of urgency and one gets a feeling that they just don't care. The inefficiency and apathy are never more evident. This place is a disservice to the community. read more

By far the worst pharmacy in the Marin County! We had a prescription called in for October 27th morning and still couldn't pick up the medication due to the poor and unprofessional customer service. On October 27th Evening, I was told they haven't started preparing the medication. On October 28th, when I went back to pick up the medication at 7:10pm, the pharmacist lady was talking with her friend for 15 minutes and ignored me for the whole time and when they stopped talking she told me that she needs to take a break and asked me to come back in 30 minutes. I guess pharmacists on this place are not aware of their business hours nor the importance of their job. Whoever needs a prescription should stay away from this pharmacy for their own good! read more

If I could give zero stars, I would. This store is not only understaffed- but the systems for communication are absolutely terrible. I have visited 3 times to try to get a prescription filled, they even had me wait 30 minutes with a baby before letting me know that they didn't have the medication in stock. No one answers the phone, so it's impossible to get anything done unless you go in store and wait in line for 30+ minutes. Run, don't walk to another pharmacy and save yourself some time and frustration. I wish I had sooner. read more

Ok so it's 6:00 pm 4 /1/2023 and I'm at Safeway in Ignacio , I'm buying 2 pounds of bottom round meat to have sliced up for Jerkey Normally no problem but the butcher who's says they close in 2 hours cannot take the time to slice up the meat as he's done washing the slicer . Are you kidding me why stay open if you cannot take 2 minutes and perform a little customer service . Naturally he's says he's alone and there's no managers in sight ! This is like one of those bad relationships, keep hoping for change and find yourself in this repetitive cycle of giving them a chance, hoping for the best, enabling bad behavior by doing all the foot work while they claim zero accountability. This has been the worst pharmacy with their constant losing prescriptions and giving this look like it's never their fault... how is it that we can get confirmations and names but yet - they never have received a prescription?! Anyways - it's time to move on and find another place. Just know in advance, call and confirm before taking a drive out there believing it's there and ready for pick up... and even after doing so, it won't be ready and you still have to wait. read more

Truly the worst pharmacy I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with. After MONTHS of two of my providers being placed on hold or hung up on, I was finally able to speak with someone who told me they LOST my prescription and had no record of it despite me filling it here before and having several refills left. I was then placed on hold and hung up on -- I have called 10 times and not received an answer or a call back. Safeway desperately needs to get the employees of this pharmacy more help. To be very clear I blame what I assume to be understaffing for these issues. This is absolutely ridiculous and negligent. Losing my prescription is one thing, but failing to answer months worth of calls and communicate that is unacceptable. I now am circumventing Safeway altogether because this pharmacy has been the exact opposite of useful. You will have better luck getting on the phone with my deceased grandmother than speaking to someone here, and if you do they will not help you. The person behind the pharmacy counter, approximately 30 ish dark hair wares it up, is inept , she not only could not find my RX which was there but she didn't listen to what I told her she was also rude. Not only rude to me but I saw her being rude to other customers. On the second go round with this pharmacy Felisa who took the time to figure out the issue and get what was needed, was great! Fortunately, we are healthy and don't need prescriptions very often. Unfortunately, our nearest pharmacy is Hamilton Safeway. They lose prescriptions and refuse to follow up, this has happened a few times. They will tell you a prescription is ready and you get there and it's not. They are really not helpful and can often be rude. After vowing never to go there again, I made the mistake of going today to fill the prescriptions after my daughter's wisdom teeth removal. I was told the pain reliever would take several hours to fill. Okay, appreciated the heads up, how long is several hours, I ask? 5 1/2 is the answer, because they are really busy today. Really?? 5 1/2 hours for vicodin? She'll be on her second dose which we got filled at Rite aid by then. This place is the worst. read more

While i agree with everyone about the very slow service, Ta, who is pharmacy manager is one of smartest dedicated professional with which i had worked in the past. AND she cares and is very nice. The main issue has to be directed to staffing AND compensation. This is a store, district and divisional management issue. The worst pharmacy I have ever been to. Automatic refills not filled on time, prescriptions called in took days to fill, very understaffed with long lines and long wait times. Sometimes they don't even pick up the phone for hours at a time. Aside from the operational nightmare, they also talk very loudly when discussing your medication information. I felt violated every single time I went in with my medication list being presented to the long line of customers behind me. Only pharmacy I've ever been to that closes for lunch. From the time my doctor called in my prescription to time to pick up, the process took 3.5 hours. Only one pharmacist after lunch break. Obviously she needs more help. Later a cashier showed up, but still, lots of waiting time. People in waiting room who were waiting for vaccinations, people who had appointments, were waiting up to an hour after appointment time for the shot. Waiting room is very dirty, carpet looks like it hasn't been cleaned in 5 years. I will not go here again. You don't have enough employees (a common problem these days), so you should stop making appointments for vaccinations. read more

Walked into the pharmacy today an hour after the scheduled opening to find out from the pharmacy techs that the pharmacist never arrived and that they cannot operate the pharmacy. Things happen, but I have been disappointed and inconvenienced by this pharmacy time and time again. Get it the heck together! People need their medications. read more

They never pick up the phone, their refill system is a joke, they never fill medications on time, and the staff shows zero urgency whatsoever. In order to get your medication, you have to drive to the store multiple times and nag them to fill it. Even then, it often takes multiple days when it should only take 15 minutes tops. They always give pathetic excuses and half the time, the person helping you has no clue what they're doing. The staff members take their sweet time even when the line is around the corner. I've had to go through withdrawals from multiple medications because they haven't been filled in time. It's abundantly clear that the staff couldn't care less about the patients. This pharmacy needs to be either shut down or staffed with more qualified people. read more

I am not angry with the pharmacy staff, I'm angry with Safeway! This pharmacy is severely understaffed and the pharmacists are overworked and dealing with long lines of frustrated and angry customers. Last week my husband's surgeon electronically submitted several prescriptions to be filled ahead of his surgery. Days passed and the only way to speak with anyone in the pharmacy was to actually drive there. They don't answer their phone and after 10 rings you get a recording that says you can NOT leave a message due to an excessive number of COVID calls! Seriously??? So my husband literally hobbled in to find out what was going on and they said they'd call him back. They never did. This morning I had to go to the pharmacy myself - WHILE MY HUSBAND WAS IN SURGERY - only to be told he needed prior authorization for these medications! Like I said before, I am not blaming anyone working in the pharmacy. I am blaming Safeway for being too cheap to adequately staff their pharmacy. This is not the first time I've had trouble due to the pharmacy being short-staffed, but this by far the worst. And I'm still waiting! read more

I just had dental work done and am in extreme pain the first time I had the same experience waiting for antibiotics. And they acted like they could careless about my business. Bad Place. I went in to pick up a prescription because my Safeway Just 4 You account offered a $25 bonus card if I transfer a prescription to them. My clinic did so, and when I went to confirm the order for blood pressure medicine and wait for them to fulfill it. I was told that the bonus didn't apply to me because I had Medi-Cal for Part D of my Medicare and that it would be illegal for them to give me the bonus. I protested that I had been given a bonus card from Safeway before. But I said go ahead, fill it, as I went out of my way to go there. Then they asked for my PHC Partnership card, I didn't have it, and then I decided to go back to Walgreen's for the prescription. Walgreen's asked for my prescription, they said they'd fax it right away. Now it has been over 24 hours, and Walgreens had to ask my physician to cancel the earlier script and issue a new one for me at Walgreens. How is that for service??!! read more

I made an appointment weeks in advance for a vaccine. When I showed up for my appointment I stood at the counter for 10 minutes before the the employee even acknowledged me. When she finally did assist me, I explained that I was there for an appointment and showed her my paperwork. She seemed surprised and said I shouldn't have an appointment then. I showed her my appointment confirmation. She then went and took care of something else, leaving me standing at the counter for another 10 minutes. I am 6 month pregnant and there was no where to sit while I waited, and I was not given any information about what was happening. Finally she returned and told me she couldn't "make a decision" and that I would have to wait for the pharmacist/supervisor. I stood waiting at the counter for another 5 minutes before the pharmacist/supervisor came over to tell me she could not provide me with the vaccine because they do not provide vaccines at the time I came in. I explained that I made an appointment. She unapologetically stated that the website from which I signed up for my appointment lets customers make appointments at all sorts of times and "all the regular patients" know that they don't do vaccinations at the time I came in. I asked how I was supposed to know that if I was not a regular patient and the website I was directed to by my doctor allowed me to make an appointment. Her response was that I should go get my vaccine from my regular health care provider. I would definitely not recommend using this pharmacy, as they clearly have some major organizational issues and the customer service was extremely disappointing. Unprofessional on every level. Safeway Pharmacy used to be the best around. We switched from CVS to Safeway about three years ago. The folks used to be able to fill prescriptions the same day with a friendly attitude. Over the past few weeks, we have had nothing but trouble getting prescriptions filled or even being able to talk to a pharmacy assistant. My wife called last week to have a prescription filled and after a long telephone wait she was told the prescription would be filled next week. 6 days later. We went to the Pharmacy this morning and talked to the one clerk working the counter. She told us that seven people had recently quit and they were so backed up they could not get to all the prescriptions that needed to be filled. This is really messed up. Back to CVS.... read more

These people are not competent what's so ever. Every time I have been forced to use them I have left very upset and unsatisfied. Their staff doesn't know which way is up or down and they speak to you in a rude way once you have called them out for being flat out wrong. It amazes me how these people can call themselves professionals in field where being smart actually matters. If you want to roll the dice with your health and your prescriptions, by all means, come to your "friendly" neighborhood Safeway. Two days in a row I went to the Safeway Pharmacy on Nave Dr to pick up prescriptions I had called in several days ago. Both days I was told the meds could not be released to me because the pharmacist was out. All the medications were refills, and none were narcotics. I was particularly in need of a replacement inhaler. I'm having brain surgery tomorrow and was instructed to bring ONLY the inhaler to the hospital in case of an asthma attack. I can't believe this Safeway pharmacy only has 1 star! I guess it's because the last review was so long ago. It's Sunday and my husband ran out of a prescription. He called the pharmacy and spoke to Jason who told him he would call his insurance company, take care of it and call him back. I said fat chance, on a Sunday? We had to go grocery shopping anyway and set out to the store. We went by the pharmacy and Jason had already taken care of everything and my husbands prescription was ready! Safeway Pharmacy - WARNING!! This is a serious review for a very serious situation. This pharmacy has completely collapsed. It does not open or close according to posted hours. Some days it doesn't open at all. The Manager claims it's specially licensed and she has no control over it. It takes days to weeks to get a refill. They absolutely will NOT answer the phone to transfer prescriptions to a functional pharmacy. My wife is seriously ill and she is constantly up and down depending on what medicines I can get from Safeway. The only way I can help my wife is to go see every one of 8 specialists in person to get new scripts written and get them to a functioning pharmacy.  She is in a wheelchair as a result of this illness and it's quite difficult to get around. Believe me they do not care, they had corporate people there today and they were laughing as I once again explained the situation to the clerk. You never see the same clerk or pharmacist twice because they quit within a day or two. They are worse than useless. Their incompetency can hurt you or your loved should you drop a prescription in hopes of getting medicine. The California State Board of Pharmacy has been notified. The DCA has been notified as well. read more
