The VIB sale is so great for getting your designer/luxury brand faves for 20% off (if you're rouge if not it's 25% or 10% which is still great savings) I ordered 2 orders online, which is the max for online. Then I went in person another couple of times during the rouge period for the 20% savings. I bought Chanel and Tom Ford fragrances for 20% off. I also bought Chanel, YSL, Too Faced, MAC, and Charlotte Tilbury cosmetics for 20% off. I picked up random sunscreen brands and replenished my holy grail Caudalie items. I bought some Sephora branded items to try for 30% off. Unless it's a holy grail item, I like to rotate luxury and affordable brands. I'm happy I was able to get replenish bottles of TF Tobacco Vanille and Oud Wood before Estée Lauder changes the formulations. I am assuming thy will do that to cut costs as they did with Cafe Rose. Cries. The staff here are very helpful and professional which makes me feel happy to visit often. I love the selection and amount of inventory because I often buy multiples of items, like skincare. I love saving money on the items that make me feel my personal best. Sephora is the place where everyone can find, touch, sample, and buy what they need. I just love that. read more

So rude!! I came in to buy Sephora Bright Future #07 Custard Gel Serum Concealer. At first, I was greeted warmly. The assistant tells me the product is no longer available. How about using our technology for a facial scan and find you a new color. Great! Then she foisted me off to some chilly gal with really bad make up - lots of red base makeup on half her face - who takes me back to the stack where my product no longer exists. She can't seem to help me at all. Got a lot of terrible makeup on myself. Barely any assistance to wipe the goop off. I kept asking for the scan so we wouldn't keep floudering around at the door. This person was inflexible. Said, "I'm sorry I can't help you." The one true thing said yet. I left. Another woman was outside having had the same terrible treatment. At least I had someone with whom I could commiserate about this store. read more

Sephora has been the best makeup store I've purchased from. It's not for everyone and there are other competitors. I personally like Sephora so, I stick to it. There's a free membership with free samples and one gets treated with lots of attention and respect as a regular inside the Sephora stores. It's fun as a woman "my age" lol. Have fun. Was greeted warmly.Thought about making a very large purchase. Unfortunately this was not the case this last time I went. The employees were (not the greeter) snobby and lazy and not friendly. Also felt like we are constantly being monitored as customers on their surveillance and monitors. If we say we are "fine" please leave us alone! Stop following us! Sometimes we simply want some alone time to shop. I had not so great experience with the bigger/wider lady with black hair. She was lazy and unhelpful. For working at Sephora one would think all the ladies makeup would be flawless but looks like many of them are not so knowledgeable. Once I sensed that being followed attitude I left. I enjoyed stopping always by this Sephora in vintage oaks Novato. They have what I need, but also the staff makes you feel valued and they are very helpful and friendly. Had such a great experience at Sephora! The makeup artist who did my sister-in-law's makeup did an amazing job, it came out perfect. I came in just to get some bronzer when Bianca approached me and asked if she could help me out. I know nothing about makeup and usually wear very light coverage. I started asking her some questions and she put me on to 4 new products, gave me some tips and helped me match my skin to the product. The people that work in this store are lazy, snobby and unhelpful. If you ask them for help they just stand there and give you a tiny bit of info pertaining to your question and won't take you to the product they speak of. They treat you like you have a disease ( I'm in my 60's so I guess I gross them out) Emily was the girl that couldn't bear to move an inch and lacked any enthusiasm to sell me anything. Not only that but she looked at me like a I was a nuisance. On the other hand the employees at Corte Madera are friendly and helpful. I won't be going to Vintage Oaks anymore. I went in for help selecting makeup to use for an upcoming wedding and was very pleased with the help I received. This is a review to compliment Raul (or Raol, I'm not quite sure how to spell his name), who shade matched excellently. The products that he helped with me choosing have worked wonderfully, and the shade I was matched with looked wonderful on my skin. All the makeup looked great with my wedding dress. This might be my second post about this store. I don't know anyone at the store. I'm not particular. In fact, I'm old, fat and frumpy - I just love my beauty products. So, I went in looking for La Mer, which they don't carry in the Novato store. I hesitated when a young associate asked me if she could help - I thought she's too young to know older skin, La Mer, etc. BUT she knew the product, asked me which formulation I preferred, then went on to recommend a similar but superior product - Sturm. I didn't even realize how serendipitous the exchange was until I got home and LOVED Sturm. I even called the store and asked who helped me because, the stuff's that amazing. Worst Sephora I have ever shopped at. First of off let me start by saying the sale associate was following me around the whole store as if she thought I was going to steal something. If only she knew I shop online almost every week and I am Rough. Only reason I went in i am going out the country the day after Christmas and needed to repurchase my foundation. Secondly she asked me if she could give me a mask so I could put on my 3 year old son.. my son was wearing a mask.. he took it done his nose. If your a mom of a toddler you know how difficult it is to make your toddler keep their mask on. After I said no and went to put his mask all the way up to his nose. I came here Friday night to get my make up done for a Christmas party, and I wanted to give a huge shout out to Meg for doing an amazing job! I don't know much about make up, so I wanted someone to help me look pretty. It's difficult working with monolids and I'm super allergic to a lot of make up, but Meg was able to create a lovely smokey eye look. Thank you so much! Where to begin, hmm... how about with, "Hello, I'm a full-time employee, student, Bay-Area commuter, wife, and most recently, a first-time mom who has absolutely no time to do anything for myself." A nearby employee overheard must've felt my nerves and immediately jumped in, introduced herself as Andy, and volunteered to help me through the process. After several attempts, she matched my skin to the perfect foundation, mainly because she took the time to listen to everything I was hoping for. Very disappointed with Sephora employer who was rude and had zero customer service experience with clients, went to the store to return an online order and the cashier refused to refund my money back, I was returning with in 30 days but she still gave me store credit, so I called the 800 number and they were very disappointed with her behavior, they said what she did was wrong and I was right to get my money back on my card, won't be buying at this store again. read more

She looked dead into my eyes and looked away, I don't know what her problem is but she's clearly internally unhappy. If that's the case she shouldn't work in customer service. I always have a great experience shopping for my makeup essentials. There is a greeter at the entrance and an employee close by that I can get assistance from. The employees I've interacted with are very friendly, knowledgeable, and super talented with makeup products. You can also get samples of anything including perfume to try the products out before purchasing them. I love this! Sometimes they will also throw in a sample when you're checking out. I visited this store on 12/31/2020. I recently had my first baby and have been in Covid quarantine for 9 months. This was the first visit to a Sephora in a long time, and it did not disappoint! I was looking like a hot mess, feeling pretty down honestly, and this visit was just what I needed. I was greeted by the sweetest gal at the door telling me about the specials on the front counter and all the current offers. Inside I was helped by several associates (and I did have a lot of questions so that was awesome)! I honestly avoid this Sephora because of the bad customer service in the past. Haven't been here in yearsss but unfortunately had to return part of an online order today and it was a reminder for why I don't go here. The employees were standing around talking and blocking the walk way. The girl behind the register was rude. I provided a phone number twice for the order, it didn't work despite my phone number being attached to my account for every online purchase. She then handed me a pen and paper to write my email down and then proceeded to type it into the computer... why would you not just ask me to say it outloud for it to be typed in..? Finally she finds my order and processes the return. I asked if she needed my card for the money to go back. She said no and then of course it was needed. Overall a simple, basic, easy return took 10 minutes. She ended the interaction with "ok, bye" HA wow, so rude. I can never get enough of Sephora. This location rocks and is a pretty good size. It's located right by Target so look out for that huge Target symbol. I'm used to seeing Sephora stores in malls and was surprised to see a location here. All the makeup artists here were friendly and I had about five people come up to me during my visit. I came here looking for a good concealer and left with some with the help of a makeup artist here. I like this location because it's right next to my favorite store (Target). read more

This is an amazing store, sooooo many selections it is a little daunting and very quickly it becomes a blur, luckily I basically know pretty much what I want so coming in here even though I may not be able to know exactly where everything is but I certainly can ask somebody to tell me where it is, a majority of the time the girls in here are not so helpful and try to act too busy even when there's only 2 people in the store, this is absolutely annoying. Like I said I make sure I have a very good idea of what I want and I try to specifically choose a brand first and have them direct me to the exact location and I have them pull out the color and the type of make up that I want this is the best way to be efficient with your time in this store. I feel it is far more time-consuming to just wander around hoping to find what I want, that being said they have all kinds of make up almost too much make up and perfume's makeup tools, makeup bags just about anything you could possibly want is in this store that's why I like it and that's why I come back again and again although it would be nice to get a little enthusiasm from a salesperson who actually wants to help me find what I'm looking for, if they were... they might find out I may buy more, make sense to me! While I did not notice being followed as some of the reviewers mention, I did pick up on a less than professional vibe from a couple employees. A nice girl named Ninie assisted me in trying out a few lipsticks and I feel she was patient with the fact that I didn't end up liking any of the suggested items. I also found the lighting of the make over station very odd. Everything looked significantly darker there than in regular fluorescent lighting or natural lighting. I disliked having to get up and walk away from the make over station (per make up artist's recommendation) to check out each look. Even so, my lipstick ended up looking way different when I got home. This is an okay Sephora if you know what products you need and want to be in and out quickly. I had a really lovely experience with a young lady named Andy. She color matched me for some foundations and picked some that she thought would be best for my skin color and type. Searching for foundation can be as grueling as finding a good pair of jeans ! She gave me a couple samples to try and I really appreciated that since I like to wear the foundation for a day or 2 before making sure it's going to work for me!! If you need to get your makeup done & you want it to look PERFECT, ask for NINIE! She is very nice and does a great job accommodating the look you want to achieve! I booked a 45-min custom makeover at this location to get my makeup done for a cocktail reception. Ninie both greeted me at the door & was my makeup artist. I showed her pictures of what eyeshadow colors I wanted on my eyes & told her about my skin concerns regarding acne. She asked me questions about products I've used in the past & products I currently use & told me my skin probably breaks out to mineral oil. I appreciated the makeup tips/lessons she was telling me throughout the entire session. I usually get my makeup done in one of the many Sephora's in San Mateo County & Ninie's flawless work & precision has been my favorite makeup done ever at a Sephora! I even told her the way she applied the eyeshadow was my favorite & she told me she wants her work to be perfect. This shows that she puts in all her effort & hardwork & doesn't rush like other Sephora employees. Love love love this Sephora even though they just opened a new one closer to my house, I still drive to the one about 35 minutes away just because I like the layout of the store a bit more (one is wide where as the other is long). I always bee line to the skin care section and if I am lucky Thaylor (sp?) is usually working in that area. He is extremely helpful and I love all the advise he gives me. He is honest and always gives me a good number of options to think about because I am one who loves options.
