Good luck getting ANYONE on the phone at this establishment. They have an enormously frustrating AI phone attendant that, after about 4 mins of incredible incompetence, finally connects you to a pharmacy Voice Mail that apparently is not monitored. They do not call back in a timely fashion. If you have emergent prescriptions, DO NOT SEND THEM HERE. So I advise you to do one of two things: 1.) Don't send your prescription to this pharmacy. 2.) Drive over there, wait in incredibly long lines, and experience the same frustration in person. I highly recommend the Walgreens Pharmacy in San Rafael instead. Everything could be better. Despite having the longest hours, they also have the least amount of staff, the longest wait, and the worst customer service. You cannot even get a person on the phone to transfer your prescriptions to another pharmacy that will actually fill them. I wish I had checked the reviews before coming by here. There is ample parking in the Bon Air lot, but wait times for medication they have in store can be 2+ hours. The staff often provides inaccurate information about prescription coverage. Even when multiple people are working, they will do whatever it takes to move people out of line without any help or medication. Never coming back! read more

I went to go pick up photos I had ordered online, but the manager, Desi, treated me unprofessionally from the start by helping the woman behind me first despite making eye contact with me. After waiting over 40 minutes, Desi said he couldn't find my photos even though I showed proof they were ready, offered no apology, and then incorrectly claimed I refused them when I expressed frustration. The worst part is he canceled the new prints he had already started printing because he couldn't find the original ones. So I left with NOTHING. This experience made me feel disrespected and discriminated against. I will be taking my business elsewhere from now on. read more

Trying to coordinate with your staff is near impossible..... because they won't listen. More than once I have gone to this CVS to pick up my monthly medication which I've been taking for 30+ years, only to be told it's not in stock or it's back ordered. With one exception, I have never been given any information whatsoever on availability and when my prescription was late last time by nearly a month (absolutely unacceptable and could put me into a place of serious physical harm) but The response from your staff is for them to shrugged his shoulders saying... "I don't know", "we don't know how to fix it", "you're just gonna have to wait", "Corporate doesn't tell us anything about when a medication is back ordered" It's like you're living in the 1950s!!! At one point I asked one of the pharmacist if was it would be better for them if my doctor called the medication in 7 to 10 days early so that if it was back ordered you can get it from someplace else or at least advise me that it's back ordered or that you don't have it in stock prior to the day I need it, So I don't have to needlessly suffer physically and can go elsewhere to pick up my medication. Apparently our attempts to make things easier for your pharmacist is something that you guys can't even comprehend even though you guys are the ones who came up with the idea.. Today was an exercise in absolute futility, because the pharmacist refused to listen and kept saying things like "too early to be picked up" I informed him MULTIPLE TIMES that nobody's trying to pick things up early, we're trying to make sure my medication is in stock and ready for pick up the day it's supposed to be ready for me to pick up not a week or a month later!! Last time this BACK ORDER BS OCCURRED, Your employees daily put me off for over a week and a half and I ended up having to go to Walgreens to get the medication (they had it in stock) which you guys apparently couldn't get from anyone at any point in time and allegedly the meds were not available any other CVS in the county. Which I do not believe in which the pharmacist told me today that I'm not the only one taking the medication that they usually have it in stock. Usually isn't gonna cut it!!! God forbid to stop my suffering you could ask one of your CVS pharmacists at a different CVS to send over some of their stock if one store is out and the meds are on back order. Apparently attempting to Make sure my meds are in stock and available when they're supposed to be it's not something you guys give a shit about. Instead I have to go back to my doctor, then go to a different CVS pharmacy, am told I can only have a partial amount of my medication to last me for 30 days. PURE INSANITY!! So this month my doctor called my medicine in 7 to 10 days early with A NOTE advising your staff that I'm not going to be picking it up right away. I don't know if your pharmacist can't see the note or just doesn't read the notes my provider leaves with the prescription. I backed up my doctors note by calling your pharmacy and leaving a message specifically to let them know why the medication has been called in 7 to 10 days early because I got a text message FROM THE PHARMACY stating that my meds are too early to be picked up today. The pharmacist refused to listen at all because he kept repeating the same thing over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over again. He said "oh we only need two days to order unless it's on back order"... NOT HELPFUL!!! Three times last year my medicine was on back order which means I didn't get my medicine on time, which means I suffered physically. But that's not what his focus was on Your pharmacist was focused on that the meds are not available until the day it's available... WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOUR PHARMACISTS?!?!? He flat out refused to even entertain the idea that we are trying to avoid something that is preventable and has happened three times in one year already. DO BETTER!! I know you can because I've spoken to a couple of pharmacist who cared and who had their priorities in the right place and actually worked to try to help me out. read more

This is the worst pharmacy. Their app doesn't take refills. When they text a link, it doesn't work. When they do manage to contact a physician for a refill they need to be contacted again to request the refill that was already requested which is difficult due to the above reasons and it takes an act of congress to talk to someone breathing. So sad Rite Aid closed but I'll be using Walgreens which means CVS has set a low bar. read more

NOT A 24 HOUR LOCATION This CVS advertises as a 24 hour location however they are not. For several months the employees close the store and tape a sign on the front glass doors indicating they have closed the store late night and will reopen at 5:00am. I work 1st shift and have relied on this CVS for years. It has become an inconvenience to me now especially when I call to find out the actual hours and no one answers. There are employees in the store when I drive there and look inside. Suggestion: Update the store hours listed on yelp and google to reflect the actual store hours. read more

Drove an hour to get here as I needed to get my prescriptions before a 6am flight. I was notified at midnight my prescriptions were ready for pickup. I arrived at 2am and the doors were locked with a sign saying systems are down. See my photo. I called and the pharmacist (answered- miracle!) was vague and couldn't tell me when they planned on opening again. He said after 3am they would open. An Instacart driver came to pick up something and he told me that every night this happens at this location right before 2am. It's not really a 24 hour pharmacy. It's currently 3:30am Sunday morning and I've been waiting an hour and half in my car to see if they will open so I can make it to the airport with my medications I desperately need. I had my doctors transfer my prescriptions to this pharmacy so I could get them on the day I was flying out as laws won't let these medications out earlier. CVS : Have the decency to be honest and post your hours of operation. I've seen about 20 people in this time I've been sitting in my car come and go. It's extremely insensitive to the public to toy with their lives. A pharmacy should uphold a standard and not mislead its customers. I have been reading the reviews and this seems to be an issue since at least 2 years ago. Today is October 6, 2024 and It seems since 2022 the pharmacy has been taping signs on their doors and shutting the store down in the evening. I can only imagine what they are doing as they are hiding and not even working restocking shelves. I guess arrived during staffs happy hours when they watch movie marathons. Jose runs it with such a warm heart, that his employees all feel at home and at ease, which makes me feel the same way. Beware, the Pharmacy at this location is poorly run. Who is the manager? I can imagine that they may be understaffed, but after calling and waiting on hold for 30 minutes, they hang up the phone. I call back another 20 minutes and the call drops. It is impossible to get some one to answer. This has been an issue for a long time. As for the front register section, the employees there move super slowly without a sense of customer service at all. It is almost like they are purposely trying to annoy customers by being as slow as possible. Just unreal. My experience venturing into this monstrosity of a pharmacy was quite chaotic as you would have guessed. We scheduled an appointment for our flu shots for 1pm and when we arrived, we were expecting someone to assist us with our vaccination, however the station was barren. When we asked the receptionist where the vaccination administrator was, she said he had just left for lunch and wouldn't be back for 30 minutes. What did not make sense was that they did not check their schedule. Additionally, they stated and I quote "No. We don't care about online scheduled appointments."Not to accuse, though they were acting similar to decadent delinquents. If I could sue for bad customer service, I would file for 100k. Thank you for listening and it is true, their receipts do contain unanswered messages from hell. read more

Go in circles that takes weeks with the wrong prescription (generic instead of brand), stating it will be ready a days later, then days later saying they need some approval from a doctor, then getting the approval (again) and saying they don't have the med, then days later trying to fill the generic (again). This is by far the worst CVS I've ever been to. The past two times I've been there I've waited for upwards of an hour in line to pick up my prescription and at least one of those times I had received a text that it was ready only to find out it wasn't when I arrived and had waited in line. Today I waited on hold for 2 hours, and finally called the front of store on another line. I asked to speak to the manager who promptly hung up on me. I figured it was a mistake so I called again. They put me back on hold and then when I asked for the manager again he hung up AGAIN. Pro tip: Call another CVS store. I called the one at Target (the pharmacist there confirmed that the Bon Air location is terrible); they were able to locate my RX, transfer it and refill it in their store in about 3 minutes. read more

There are lots of things that are great about this store. It's clean. Well stocked. The pharmacy is 24/7. However, the store is very understaffed, both pharmacy and store. The checkout always takes forever. Pharmacy line extends halfway across the store. Recently I went and used their mobile app to prepay for the pharmacy... this was TERRIBLE... I skipped the line with my prepaid barcode following the giant signs by the pharmacy that say "skip the line with the mobile app, line up here" with a giant arrow. Well... not only was everyone in line mad at me but the staff told me they couldn't facilitate that service. Either take down the sign for provide the service you advertise. Again, lots to love about the store but they need more staff. read more

There have always been long wait times on hold, but now they are so short staffed that it's virtually impossible to get to talk to a pharmacist on the phone. Last time I tried, after 75 min on hold I gave up. So now you need to drive to the store and wait in line to see a pharmacist. I had to do this twice this month and they didn't follow thru on my request. Also, recently I signed up online for a covid shot and arrived at the scheduled time. I got a text telling me to reply when I was in the store to confirm I was present. I did so and waited 45 min for my name to be called. Finally I went to the counter and was told that they would put me in the queue now. They said they didn't know I was in the store! read more
