I had a pleasant experience at Walgreens. The staff was friendly, especially the gentleman at the register who assisted me -- unfortunately I didn't catch his name. My only downside is the lack of a public restroom, which seems common at many California stores now. I came into a different location with a pre-diabetic family member who urgently needed to use the restroom and sadly ended up having an accident after being denied access. I don't hold it against this location or the staff, as they're likely following policy, but it's unfortunate and speaks to the times we're living in. That said, the employees here have always been kind and professional. read more

Update: I went back to try to retrieve the two prescriptions as instructed by the pharmacist. Only one was ready and they asked me to wait 20 minutes. When I asked why I had been told to come in and collect them the guy said "I don't know who told you that." I explained exactly who told me that. "Ok well I don't know what he told you." Go elsewhere. Prescription never filled on time. Always delayed or out of stock and when they tell you it's on order... it never is. You constantly have to call them daily to check to make sure they are doing their job. It's terrifying how they are messing with people's prescriptions and in some cases lives when patients are not getting their time sensitive meds on time. How are these people not sued by now? My Rx has been sitting on the counter with unfilled pending status for over a week despite me calling and checking to make sure my meds are ordered which they lied and said it was... only for me to check a couple days later to be told it was never ordered. read more

This Walgreens pharmacy should be closed because they send confirmations of receipt of prescriptions to doctors and then later claim they never received it. Their repeated delays are a serious risk to patients' safety. This has happened twice in the last 3 weeks. Many years ago CVS gave me 10x the dosage of a drug I was prescribed, having misread the prescription. I ended up in the hospital. We had to sue them to cover the medical bills. Their idea of customer service is to say "it might be over there somewhere" and then walk away. When asked to help find a specific product they act put out that you actually want useful help. You have to insist that they actually help you find the item. The lady at the photo counter won't engage and won't answer questions - just sits there with a blank expression when asked for help or to get someone to help. I've also heard the staff shouting at customers, which doesn't seem to be a problem for their management. Prices are higher than Amazon for many over the counter products, double or triple in some cases. Double check prices at the register too - I've been overcharged several times. After spending one + years avoiding any sort of collective indoor space other than my home, I have Walgreens to thank for breaking the trend. Welcome to the (potential) super-spreader event happening daily at this Walgreens location. How is it that Kaiser has been unable to garner any steady vaccine supply but Walgreens has been given - clearly - more than they can handle? It's certainly not because Walgreens demonstrated any sort of competency in administratively handling things nor is there evidence that they've staffed up to meet demand. Rather, they are staffed and organized in a way that will have you standing in lines then sitting on the floor of whatever aisle you wish, waiting. And waiting. And waiting. Walgreens requests that those with vaccine appointments show up 15 minutes ahead of schedule to check-in. Even if you do, you'll likely stand in a line that takes more than 15 minutes to navigate. I saw the situation and inquired at check-in "how far behind are you running?" to which I got an answer: Approximately one hour. That's right. Stay safe for 1+ years only to sit inside a busy and populated Walgreens for upwards of 1 hour. Well, at least I had time to finish the book I'd brought. Having arrived at 3:45 for my 4:00 p.m. appointment I finally found someone to ask at 5:10 p.m. "Excuse me, could you tell me when I might get seen?" A somewhat defensive response was received before he told me that they were currently handling appointments scheduled for 3:55 p.m. At 5:10 p.m. Three others in my family have received vaccines; two through the Marin Civic Center site and one through Sutter Health in Sacramento. In each case, for each vaccine - 6 shots total - these family members were inoculated within 10 minutes of their appointment time. On neither inoculation did this Walgreens administer shots anywhere near the scheduled appointment time. I'm relived to be vaccinated but if you're still waiting I will suggest only this: If I were in your shoes I'd book anyplace I could find it before I'd willingly sign up again for the Walgreens experience. read more

BEWARE: This Walgreens overcharges regularly and charged tax on non-taxable items. This is an ongoing issue and though the one in Cotati has been fined numerous times, they continue to receive violations and make no corrections. A few years ago i noticed on my receipt they charged .50% more tax than current CA tax, and the other day they charged tax on two cartons of ice cream which is non-taxable in CA. I pointed it out to the mgr and she gave me a dumb look and said to ask the corporate office. I left the ice cream on the counter and walked out. Unbelievable. Please check your receipts ALWAYS. This had exactly what I needed and had it exactly when I needed it. I needed Lactaid pills and a Fastrak. I picked up the Fastrak first from the Photo Dept and paid for it there. Then I grabbed Lactaid pills and paid for them at the main register. I was in my hotel room later that night and loaded the Fastrak website. God, where do I start? Made a photo pickup order on Tuesday, got a notification two hours later that it was ready. Called that same night just to check, they say their machine is broken but will be fixed the next morning. Call the next afternoon (Wednesday) at 3pm, they say the machine is fixed and my order should be ready. Came last Thursday. Waited an entire hour for the lady to search (very poorly) and pretty much ask the same questions over what size it is, what name is on the order, and my phone number. For some reason, it never came in our records. Later on, some jock ding-dong working as the cashier (who looked and acted like he hated working there, which I understand entirely,) gave me massive attitude when asking about the Walgreens Rewards program. Also have had two separate incidents of the indian men working here yelling unprovoked at people, including me and my boyfriend. One does not need to shout "ONLY ONE PER ORDER!" or "THEY MUST BE THE SAME KIND! NO MIX MATCH!" at the top of their lungs. They suck. Anyways, all these one star reviews at least let you know how little the store cares for anyone. And the barcodes don't set off alarms, so... may the odds be ever in your favor yall. read more

This pharmacy and the male pharmacist who works here make this place a nightmare. If zero stars were possible it is still two high a rating. Going on three weeks now trying to get a basic prescription that my doctor has called in twice and I've been in three times to check up on. They keep saying it's an insurance issue even though my doctor has resolved it with the insurance company. This Pharmacist is condescending, unprofessional, surly and changes his answers even when it's clearly a lie to cover his ass and refuse Any sort of accountability or general concern for a customer. He is way more interested in closing up the counter early and not following up on Previous conversations or follow ups he was supposed to be doing. If you want to be treated like you don't matter, your health doesn't matter and your business doesn't matter then this Walgreens and this pharmacist is perfect for you. If you are coming for the pharmacy expect a hr wait time on the phone and in person. ThisWalgreens is very understaffed. I've been coming here for my medication for two years. This pharmacy should be shut down or restarted with more people who can accommodate their patients. The amount of time I've spent on hold/waiting in line is egregious! I've been on hold multiple times for 4+ hrs a day and I've waited in line for more than 2 hrs. I've called them in advance to check on my prescription and they've confirmed it's arrival. Before catching my flight I waited on hold for 1.5 hrs and finally decided to drive there. When I got there, they told me the delivery truck didn't make it and I was forced to travel without my needed daily medication across the county for a week!! They showed little remorse or care for their mistake and me as a patient. Walgreens hire more staff or get restaff this entire department. These people are supposed to be doctors! Getting paid from our insurance companies a lot of money and just to put pills in bottles, can someone please automate their jobs! The staff at this location should be investigated as I'm sure many people's health and well-being are compromised from their lack of attention! Update! Finally got through to a pharmacist 6hrs later and he sounded like he did not care at all that I had to wait and said no one is applying for jobs. At my appointed time, I rang the pharmacy by the drive in window and they told me to come back in 30 minutes because they were "out to lunch." This was at 1:45 pm. Inertia is a thing. For surely the only reason I am still at the Walgreens pharmacy is inertia. That and a lack of good local competition since the average Yelp score on over seven local local pharmacies I researched while trying to make a change, is in the general neighborhood of 2-2.5 stars. A few years back this was a good neighborhood option. After leaving the doctors office, I'd get a text, and a call. I'd grab the needed items for my family, often the same day, and I could run by while during errands. Sometimes I'd experience a wait, but in all it was efficient and friendly. Now, and for the last year or so, everything back in the pharmacy seems broken. Communications we used to rely on don't ever come, so instead I often call them. The female dark haired pharmacist working is curt and lacking customer service interest, which seems to be impacting staff. Orders lag behind normal wait times, and forget it if you have a new insurer or job change, because that will take them months to sort out and update systems properly. If you come same day from the doctor, as I used to be able to do, they are now usually unable help you find your medication because they are so far behind. As you can see from all the recent one star reviews of the pharmacy here, they are not doing well in the area of customer service. They don't bother to read Yelp reviews at a store or corporate level, so it's not being addressed anytime soon. If you suffer from intertia like I do, do yourself a favor and avoid this pharmacy. I bought batteries. Then I realized I bought the wrong size. 4 minutes after I had paid for them, I returned and asked to return the batteries. I was told I could only get store credit. I responded that was not true. Then the manager demanded to see my receipt. The same manager who had sold me the batteries 4 minutes ago. But I had not taken my receipt with me. 4 minutes ago. Then another cashier said, "Give him the trash for to (sic) find his receipt." So I went through the trash. I am attaching a picture of the trash I was given by the store manager to go through for batteries he'd sold me 4 minutes ago. The manager disappeared into the back. I found the receipt. I asked the cashier why she'd told the manager to just give me the trash. She hurled back to me, "I didn't tell you shit!" Now she uses the word 'shit' over a couple of batteries with other customers in the store? I was shocked. I very politely asked her name as she was not wearing a name tag. She said, "No name! When you can get ahold of a pharmacist, they are generally nice but my daughter's prescriptions are never ready when they say they will be and there are often insurance issues (which maybe isn't the pharmacy's fault but it's just a refill). I hate dealing with this pharmacy. It always takes FOREVER. They must be seriously understaffed. Hire more people!!! Currently, I've been on hold for 12 minutes -- the phone keeps ringing, no one answers, they just put me back in the que. You may choose to refill a prescription here, but this is what will happen if you do. 1) You will call in a refill, by phone, of a longstanding prescription of a commonly used medication that you previously filled at the same location. Nothing fancy. 2) The automated response will assure you it will be available tomorrow, or in 2-3 hours if you request it earlier. 3) You will show up LATER than 2-3 hours or the next day, because you're a nice person and you understand they are overworked. 4) And when you do show up, you will be told, inevitably, that it is not ready. Clearly, their MO is to refrain from starting the refill process until you physically show up to retrieve it, forcing you to either wait 30 minutes or make a separate trip. Calling to check beforehand does not help, they will still wait to start the process until you are there to pick it up. To be fair, prescriptions called in by your doctor or on an automatic renewal program do seem to be refilled in a more timely manner here. But I've been told, and not always politely, that I must wait half an hour or return to get a refill one too many times. I drive by this Walgreens every day on my commute and therefore it should be convenient, but it is in fact more convenient for me to drive miles out of my way to CVS, which is where I"ll be going from now on. It's really a shame. (ETA: This review is for the pharmacy only. I feel compelled to say that the man who usually works at the front checkout counter is extremely nice. He always has a smile that brightens my mood when I'm frustrated by the latest debacle at the pharmacy.) read more

Have to believe most if not all the issues with this pharmacy have to do with the team being understaffed. You get your text and email that your meds are ready for pickup. Wait in long line, only to be told they're not ready. Today, the same gentleman who randomly told me that my meds may have been inadvertently sent to the wrong Walgreens told me that they didn't carry another of my specific medications anymore after I had been getting them there for more than a year. "Maybe the FDA wont allow them" he said to me. Huh? Went to Rite-aid and they had the pills. No problem. Transferred all my prescriptions there as well. I would give ZERO STARS, if I could. This pharmacy never has my script ready when they say it will be. They don't order meds or even start processing your script until you are in front of their face, trying to pick up your script. They waste your time, telling you to come back in a couple hours, only to come back several hours later and being told that it's still not ready. I have never seen a pharmacy with so many people working behind the counter, consistently not having scripts ready when they tell people that they will be ready. This store should not be closed down. Every year it gets dirtier and the employees more hostile. There was a period of time when this was the only pharmacy I used but I finally learned that customers don't have to tolerate rudeness and bad service. If one wants/needs a good Pharmacy, go to Pharmaca in Mill Valley. It's an excellent store and it has the best Pharmacists who are warm and intelligent.
