This store should not be closed down. Every year it gets dirtier and the employees more hostile. There was a period of time when this was the only pharmacy I used but I finally learned that customers don't have to tolerate rudeness and bad service. If one wants/needs a good Pharmacy, go to Pharmaca in Mill Valley. It's an excellent store and it has the best Pharmacists who are warm and intelligent. No one has to put up with Walgreens in order to have a prescription filled. read more

This is my local Walgreens and I use them out of pure convenience. I have almost never had an interaction with a pharmacist there who is friendly helpful or seemingly capable. I often experience long lines, wait times, and frequent delays, and rarely see the same employee in the pharmacy area more than once... Which I assume means they have relatively high turnover. I feel badly giving them one star, because they often seem stressed out, but the general lack of customer service and simply being nice to customer makes it tough to cough up even 2 stars. Now, I have managed large teams and customer facing teams, so I understand how challenging it can be when you're dealing with the public at scale and trying to control for quality interactions. After particularly negative treatment from a pharmacist today, and before posting a scathing review, I thought I would give my local Walgreens the benefit of the doubt and call the store manager. While he was very nice, he also said that they are severely understaffed and everyone is stressed out. As he said, "that shouldn't prevent us from being nice", and I couldn't agree more... so unfortunately that leads me to offer up a one star review of this location. (By the way I'm not usually a "call the store manager" kind of person, but that's how rude they were!) I will say there are a couple of front checkout employees to tend to be friendly, but sadly they can't compensate for the ineptitude of the pharmacy. Other than that... I would give ZERO STARS, if I could. This pharmacy never has my script ready when they say it will be. They don't order meds or even start processing your script until you are in front of their face, trying to pick up your script. They waste your time, telling you to come back in a couple hours, only to come back several hours later and being told that it's still not ready. I have never seen a pharmacy with so many people working behind the counter, consistently not having scripts ready when they tell people that they will be ready. Girlfriend had surgery so I went to pick up her meds which were supposed to be ready. Waited 20 minutes with TWO cars ahead of me - I don't know how that is possible. Was told the prescriptions weren't ready but would be in 30 minutes. Come back to an enormous line of cars waiting. Screw this, I just waited 20 minutes for two cars. Walk in, 10+ people in line. Only one of three windows open in the pharmacy. The people in front of me have been waiting for awhile. Apparently this is somehow both the covid 19 vaccine line and general prescription line. This is smart - let's put unvaccinated individuals next to those who may be requiring medication. Excellent move. I started writing this review while in line. I currently have about 35% confidence in their ability to actually correctly fill the prescription but we'll see. .... Just got to where I can see the pharmacy tech at the counter; it's a pretty uninspiring sight. I don't want to be mean, but she has a sort of glazed over look about her - not much focus if you catch my meaning. Plus, there are 3 computers and only one person working, with a line growing. She doesn't appear to be hustling either, and it appears I may have to help her combing through the alphabetical last names, as evidenced by her furrowed brow as she attempts to locate person #1s prescription. I'm being mean, buts it's been a long day. I tried to get these filled at CVS earlier to no avail. May have to write up a review for them too. Total Walgreens waiting time so far (combining for the earlier wait): 45 minutes. People are starting to talk to each other in line - the lady behind me says her spouse is in the car after having surgery today. Nice try lady. Join the club. I'm not moving. People are also starting to loudly question the whole "one lady manning three computer slots" system. I agree, it doesn't seem ideal. .... Three back now, starting to think about my future outside of Walgreens and all I can accomplish in the future if I can just get the prescriptions and leave. On a positive note, I've befriended an elderly gentleman in front of me who desperately needs a chair after standing for half an hour. Unfortunately there are none left; Walgreens is no place for the weak and frail, although I would assume this to be the majority of their clientele. Im not even kidding, the guy behind tried to cut. He went to try and say something to the lady behind the counter (ha, good luck with that!) then just kind of....lingered to the 3rd spot. People definitely noticed. I definitely noticed. Normally I would let someone through but it's past an hour total of waiting and I won't admit what I would do to get out of here. Horrid things. I passive aggressively slip back in front of him. He's unvaccinated but I deem it worth the close quarters. ..... #2 in line and people behind me are starting to look around the prescription counter and general area as if answers to this terrible place are hiding behind the aisles - they are not. There are no answers to this experience. My one-time friend in front of me can't find his Medicare card and I'm starting to have this sinking feeling like I somehow deserve this as a punishment for past wrongs. I reflecting on my life and all of the small, cumulative steps that have led me to where I am today - to this very line. I'm not sure where I went wrong. .... I'm not kidding - I'm still #2 behind Medicare man. He found his card, but the techs got a quizzical look and is throwing random finger punches at the computer touchscreen. I start to bargain internally. God help me. I will go back to church I promise. I'm worried the tech is going to need a break after this guy. I'm expecting some sort of calamity to arise as I approach the counter. I'm not from the Bay Area and I begin to wonder about earthquakes. Am I actually hoping for one at this point? ... It's all over now as I finish the review. I got two of three meds so that's something I guess. The tech was quite nice but there was a 5 minute gap between her grabbing the meds and me actually leaving with them. I'm not sure where she went. I did some light stretching during this time as it had been about 30-40 minutes of standing. I raised the star count to 2 from 1 as the staff was friendly once I got to the counter. Overall not a bad first review. I was pretty heated when I started writing but mellowed out after an additional 30 minutes of waiting. I'd say I'm a stronger person now all things considered. I won't go into the long terrible wait time. I won't even go into the poor customer service. What frightens me the most is seeing a pharmacist blow their nose (snot into a Kleenex) then continue to fill prescriptions WITHOUT SANITIZING her hands. The man working behind the counter at the pharmacy was incredibly unprofessional. When I asked for my prescription he says "oh that sucks" and proceeds to dig through a pile of meds. Then he finds it and it needs to be mixed and says "well I guess you just add water to it.. I can do that." Wtf! Not funny, not ok. I am a doctor and this is my local pharmacy near my house. They are the absolute worst! Massive hold times to get through on the phone. I have also heard from my wife extremely long lines. Very difficult getting any meds filled. We have switched all meds to a different Walgreens in the city. The pharmacy has a tough job, holding the tension among demanding or needful patient, prescribers of controlled medicines, cheapskate capitalist insurance companies, and an increasingly punishing and authoritative DEA in a climate that scapegoats the sick in a politics of drugs dynamics. Kudos to the pharmacist on duty tonight who fixed a problem with how the Rx was written and went the extra mile to make sure I got relief in timely fashion. It's so easy to take out our frustrations on the personnel when they are caught between so many competing power entities and endless regulations, where it's all cover-your-a$$ at the expense of the patient. Worst pharmacy I've ever been to. I wish there was an option for zero stars. Staff is rude and inconsiderate. "We're understaffed" is their excuse for not having prescriptions filled for 3-4 days. Called the pharmacy to make sure prescriptions my doctor had called in were in stock. They said yes, the medications were in stock and would be ready to pick up by 4:30pm. I arrived at 4:45. The guy behind the counter told me one of my prescriptions was out of stock, and that they couldn't send the Rx to another Walgreens because it was a controlled substance. Then they opened a big box randomly sitting atop a shelf and discovered they had the medications. They made me wait almost an hour for these prescriptions and were really rude about it. At one point a few years ago, the pharmacy was efficient, prescriptions filled and ready when texted. Now- it is worthless. I am not blaming the workers as they always are jumping. There's something else going on and it could be they have eliminated a pharmacist to fill the orders. It can't be that this Walgreens has increased their business to the extent that any order placed via the app is never ready when requested. Plan to wait a half hour for your prescription, without it exception. There is always a long line, which moves at a snail's pace. Then, you might find the script that was supposed to be ready two days ago isn't due to "system trouble." So tack on at least 15 minutes more. It's ridiculous. I'm switching to CVS. read more

Worst pharmacy I have seen. This Walgreens is always understaffed. The poor staff seems not to know what they are doing. For example one staff member told me to come in and my prescription is ready for pickup. Unfortunately when I went in to pick up my prescription, that same staff member (who I spoke on the phone) told me that I have to wait 4 more days until my prescription could be refilled! I wish they had given me this information over the phone as I had to drive all the way to the pharmacy and wait in line for 30 minutes to get this information. I called my insurance to make sure this information is correct (as I do not trust this incompetent staff), but as I write this my insurance company has been on the hold with them for well over 30 minutes! Who leaves an insurance company on hold for over 30 minutes? Do these people sleep on the job? Maybe they could use a red bull? Incompetent management, overworked and unskilled staff, thats what the pharmacy group at this Walgreens represents. Now it makes sense to me why Walgreens closed several locations across the US. Their business model does not have the scalability to meet the needs of its customer base. Especially when their hiring standards are so low. read more

This Walgreens location should be ASHAMED of the way they run their pharmacy. Never in my life have I been spoken to and treated with such disrespect by a pharmacist. My doctor submitted my prescription 10 days ago and it has still not been filled. I waited patiently for three days to call them and inquire about the status, seeing as I was given absolutely no updates to that effect on the Walgreens app or otherwise. After waiting on hold for approximately 30 minutes, I spoke to them last Monday, and was told that my prescription would be filled that day. Six days later, with still absolutely no contact from the pharmacy or notification of the prescriptions being filled, I called again. Again, I waited on hold for over 30 minutes before getting through to anyone. The first employee I (finally) spoke with was decent, but still did not apologize for their blatant oversight in getting my prescription filled. Then, to top it off, he informed me that they were out of my prescribed medication and would probably have it "in a week or so". Outraged, I requested to speak to the pharmacist. Once again, I waited several minutes on hold until the pharmacist answered me. She reiterated what the previous employee had told me and expressed absolutely ZERO remorse for the troubles they have caused me. When I asked why they didn't inform me that my medication was out of stock, she gave me attitude and suggested that I should just have my doctor send my prescription to another pharmacy. Before I even had a chance to respond, she HUNG UP ON ME! What an absolutely ludicrous way to treat a customer, who, might I add, has been a loyal patron to Walgreens Pharmacy, at this location and beyond, for YEARS. I sincerely hope they get their act together and figure out how they can successfully do their job (namely, fill prescriptions) without forcing other customers to endure such absurdity. The line was 10 people deep with an assortment of people picking up, dropping off, and getting a covid vaccine. There was at least 5 staff members behind the counter to help with the line. I waited for about 15 mins and not one single person moved but 2 more people were added to the line. Never again will or give the recommendation to use this Walgreens. Usually Walgreens is a lot better than most but this one is so below subpar it's sad. For some mysterious reason, the technician lady couldn't get my Asian name right, even after I spelled it out and she just bluntly said "I don't understand how your name spells". Every single time I come here I have an unpleasant experience. It's shocking to me they can't figure out how to provide a basic decent customer service, I'm also shocked that people will put up with it. Every time I pick up a prescription at the pharmacy the line is long and slow moving, and the personnel behind the glass are barely civil. Like you are an annoyance. Whenever I buy products with my prescriptions they simply shove the products back towards me without a bag or an offer of a bag so I end up carrying assorted loose items through the aisles. If you ask them to do anything outside the standard, like, for example, transfer a prescription to another location, they act put out and decline to help. That includes the pharmacist having attitude. It's really not hard to be nice to people and offer them assistance or even an explanation about why you're not going to offer them assistance but this crew can't manage the bare minimum. read more

Worst pharmacy experience ever! Not only do they make you wait. They are completely incompetent and rude. The most unprofessional pharmacy I have every seen. They told me to come back next week to pick up the prescriptions for my mother-in-law. When I went back the following week, not only were they not ready, but they told me that I would have to drive to a different pharmacy in San Francisco to pick up the prescriptions. I called the other pharmacy, and they said that this was not true. They were incredulous that the Mill Valley pharmacy asked me to call them. Not only did I have to wait twenty minutes for the first time, they made me wait another twenty minutes only to ask me to come into the store. I told them I did not want to do this because I would have to wait again. They promised that I would not have to wait if I came into the store. I had to wait another 15 minutes while this same person helped another customer. After that, I knocked on the divider to let her know that I was there waiting for her. She pretended not to recognize me. She finished with the other customer and was going to help the next customer and make me wait again. I again knocked on the divider and reminded her that she said I would not have to wait if I came into the store. At this point, all the other employees in the pharmacy started to scream at me, shouting at me to wait my turn. It was completely unprofessional. The woman pharmacist was extremely rude and told me that I should just leave. I needed to get my mother-in-law's prescriptions because they had run out. These medications were very important as she had just had a stroke. DON'T GO HERE! THIS IS THE WORST PHARMACY EVER! read more

I've recently discovered Walgreens' photo department. Their online photo services have helped me create a number of collages and birthday gifts. It's super easy to use, and the print-outs are unbelievably cheap. And best of all, your order is normally ready in under a few hours. My only complaint is about the actual store itself. It's a freakin' ghost town in here. Not only are there no customers, there are barely any employees to be found. Each time I've come here, I've literally had to search for 5-10 minutes for someone to assist me at the photo department. And then when I finally find someone, they look quite annoyed to be bothered. It kind of has a DMV-feel to it. All that being said, my photos usually turn out nice and the price is right. So I'll be back. read more

Have been filling prescriptions here for 15 years. I have never had such a horrible experience the pharmacy tech was surreally, the manager was uncompassionate and short. I waited for over an hour to pick up two very common prescriptions, life threatening with out. They would not release them to my husband of over 30 years because I have two addresses. When I spoke to someone yesterday they said they would be ready today for me to pick up as I was having to evacuate yesterday due to the fires. Who ever I spoke to yesterday clearly lied to me and they refused to answer the drive by telephone when I asked what the hold up is. They stated the medication was out of stock when they finally decided my prescription was returned to shelf. And take at least 15 minutes to refill one prescription and would have to over night them for the other. Total time spent here was an hour and forty five minutes for TWO prescriptions. read more

First, the night manager was amazing, and that's the only reason I'm giving it 2 stars. I do recommend this place but only when that cashier is not working. The cashier working tonight (02/16/24@ 8:35 pm) was so unprofessional and had a bad attitude. From the moment we entered the store. There were some things on sale and my wife loved them, so we got basically what was left. I couldn't believe the price, so asked the cashier why are they at that price, are they expiring soon? Fair question. She turns around with an attitude saying how am I supposed to know? Well, hello you work here !!! I didn't say anything I just ignored it. Then when we exited I checked the receipt and noticed that she had charged us wrong. So I asked her to take a look at it and she again with an attitude said what's wrong? I explained that one of the items was charged wrong. She stated, so what, do you want your money back? I said no I want you to honor the price and then I will like the difference back. She laughed and said yes that's what I said. We were back and forth and I got tired and asked for the manager which she rolled her eyes and said seriously? And walked to the end of the store when I heard Mommy those guys are asking for you. I was shocked. But, still went ahead and explained to the manager and the cashier tried to lie saying that I wasn't saying it right. she is young but needs to learn you don't treat customers that way. FLU SHOT - Did not honor appointment time. I scheduled appointments for each of my school aged children to receive the flu shot. When I arrived 10 minutes early as recommended, there were no customers waiting, yet the pharmacist told me it would be at least a half an hour before they could help me. I was not comfortable just waiting around in Walgreens with my children during COVID. I was told to make an appointment for different times of day when they have more staffing available. I suggest that the store offers appointments only when they can provide the service advertised. read more
