I would not recommend this lab. I went in for two vaccine shots, and although the technician was friendly, this was the first time I have ever bled from a vaccination. He told me it happened because I moved while the needle was in my arm, but he then noticed that the first injection site was also bleeding when he removed the bandage. That made me question the quality of the procedure. I still need a follow-up shot for one of the vaccines, but I will be choosing a different lab next time. read more

Warning: Don't believe their website to see if they are open. It clearly states today that they are open all day except lunchtime today: "Memorial Day Hours". CLEARLY LISTED SPECIFICALLY OPEN ON MEMORIAL DAY. I got down there and everything was shutdown with no notice of why or the hours or anything - talked to the store manager and she said "sorry" but that doesn't cut it. I have a sinus infection so now I'll have another night of headache pain because by the time my clinic transfers it to another pharmacy it will be too late. I'll go to get the antibiotic in the morning because I'll need it right away by then but I will never return to this pharmacy. Thank God I don't have a UTI. This was the first time used this pharmacy and that was because my regular one is closing. Now I know. Never again. read more

This pharmacy is awful. My doctor recommended I get a specific medication filled here because they have better discounts with GoodRx, etc. I usually use CVS. First and foremost, the Safeway Pharmacy mobile app is abysmal. It's buggy, counterintuitive, and the user is provided zero useful confirmations about what's been done in the app and what the status of a prescription is. Each time I've requested a refill I've had to call the pharmacy just to make sure they received the request and that they were working on it. Secondly, they won't refill my prescription until I've run out of it. I've had to go days without it when I've been out of town or was for some reason unable to pick it up the literal day I run out. Lastly, their processes are disjointed and inconsistent. When I first filled my prescription there, I had a GoodRx coupon and it worked fine. Then, seemingly randomly, they said that they've been incorrectly applying that coupon and I need to have my insurance approve to cover the medication (which they won't, hence the coupon). I jump through all of the hoops of receiving the denial letter from my insurance only to have them say "Whoops. Never mind. We can use the GoodRx coupon." That was last month. I just called on the phone to follow up on the mobile refill request and they said AGAIN that I need to get my insurance company to approve the medication. I'm headed out of town tomorrow and will not have the medication. I guess you get what you pay for. read more

The people who answer the phone are extremely rude, they give inconsistent information on pricing and availability and behave as if they can't be bothered with your business. I agree with the person who said they act like they are on a power trip. Service takes forever, and I've even waited there for what seemed like an eternity while they searched high and low for my prescription. My son had 4 of his wisdom teeth removed on 1/4/2024 and his surgeon had prescribed pain medication which he was supposed to pick up before surgery. When he came back empty handed I was told 'they had some issues'. After surgery when my son was in pain and close to tears (Advil and Tylenol did not help), I called the pharmacy (initially I was told they could not talk to me but I reminded her that my poor son had gauze stuck between his teeth and whimpering in pain) and was told it was an insurance problem. Since I had to buy some pudding from Safeway, I called the Insurance and headed to Safeway. After 30 Mins on the phone with the insurance rep contacting the prescription insurance and Safeway Pharmacist I was told there should be no problem. I then went to the pharmacy counter and inquired again about my son's medication and heard the same answer 'insurance issue'. But I told her (Michelle) the insurance rep had just contacted the pharmacy. Very quickly she told me it was OK and I would be notified when the prescription is filled (30 Mins). It is 1/5/2024 noon and I am still waiting for the notification. Dear Michelle, I hope to God that you never have to see your children in such pain, and if you do, there is a more sympathetic pharmacist and you will NEVER encounter someone like you. It's convenient to have the pharmacy in the supermarket. But the problem is it takes forever to get service and it feels like they're just doing their job and ignoring customers. My mom used to use this pharmacy and then transferred to a nearby CVS because she had so many issues. Well I had my own issue today! My mom had a knee replacement and the CVS was unable to fulfill one of the prescriptions so we unfortunately ended up here. It was important to fill it quickly because it was a pain medication that she needed to continue that day from the hospital. I dropped off the prescription with a rude technician who said to return in 1.5 hours. I came back 2 hours later and first had to explain to them that it was covered by her insurance, which they disputed later to be proved wrong. I then found out they had not started on filling the prescription. I sat there for another half hour and eventually got it, thankfully, but it was clearly a super disorganized operation, and one (but not all) of the employees were rude. read more

I would give 0 stars if it was an option. I went to get a medicine for my brain tumor yesterday. I have been getting the same medicine for 3 years now and the price with my insurance has always been $10. When I went in this time, Tom(attending customers at pick up) told me it's $54. I told him it's always been a different price and will have to call my insurance and check why that changed. He starts to call my insurance and I told him that I unfortunately need to come back as I need to pick up my daughter now. He threatens me that he would never work on this later and does not have the time. If I stepped out right now he can never give me my medicine. I told him I was here for a quick pickup and since it will take time I have to come back - I will ofcourse stand in the line again and make an appointment if necessary to come at a certain time but unfortunately have to go as my daughter will be waiting for me to pick her up. He threatens me again that if I leave they will never give my medicine. WHAT!!!! Is that even legal to deny me my medicine if I come back? I had to tell others about my experience. I have been going here for years (because of convenience) and they constantly screw things up. Multiple times I have been given the wrong medication. If I hadn't actually paid attention, that could have been incredibly dangerous. They also can never seem to get refills figured out. Prescriptions on automatic refill never seem to work and then I get told that the pharmacist is on lunch so I have to wait an hour. Who wants to wait in Safeway for an hour when they expect their prescription to be done already? Save yourself the hassle and go somewhere else. read more

Complete lack of empathy or professionalism from the staff at this pharmacy. They lose Rx's, they tell you your medication has to be ordered and then forget to do so. They used to be okay, but ever since the manager, Danielle transferred elsewhere, the service has gone downhill. I had a grievance today and was told I could discuss with the manager when he returns from his two week vacation. I have been going here for 20 years simply because they were the closest pharmacy to my home. They used to be kind, attentive, and reliable. In the last few years they have been slipping and it wasn't until this weekend that it reached the tipping point. I called 2 weeks in advance to refill a prescription. Giving plenty of time to get in touch with the doctor, refill the prescription, etc. The automated message told me it would be ready a few days before I had time to go and pick it up. In theory, this should be win-win for me with the least amount of hassle (and I allotted extra time in case there were delays for whatever reason). I show up and they are a complete mess. My prescription is not ready, they aren't even sure if I made a request, they haven't gotten a hold of the doctor. The woman helping me had the audacity to say that I never called in the first place several times before finally finding the request. The staff manages to somewhere find a single fax that they sent to my doctor's office about week prior asking for a refill. Since they never heard back nothing happened. When I talked to the manager of the pharmacy the next day he was unapologetic and blamed everything on the doctor's office. When I asked why no one got in touch with me he simply said that is not the pharmacy's policy. I also called the doctor's office and the only request they received came through the day that I went to the pharmacy to pick it up. No other records. I have been going to the same practice for 20 years and haven't had any problems, so I have no reason to question the reliability of their records. This pharmacy is a waist of time and those who work here spend there time giving you blank stares, passing blame, and have zero sense of professionalism. I will never return. read more

No stars for this pharmacy. My daughter , 9years old, had food poisoning. She had vomited for three days. I went 30 minutes before it opened to ask if they could get me the meds a little early so I could attend to her. The pharmacist told me it didn't open till 9am to take a seat. I waited. Called Safeway management and asked if they could ask the pharmacist if I could get the medicine 15 minutes early as my daughter continued to dry heave. At 9 am sharp I announced that they should open. The clerk glared at me.... went as slow as she could. I noticed the store clock said 8:56. I stated, "your store clock is four minutes behind my iPhone." The pharmacist rushes to us said he had the right to refuse service and would not give me the medication. We called the Safeway manager over. The whole transaction lasted three minutes. Im shocked. Where is your compassion? Where is your kindness? If a mother is asking for help why can't you help? Would 30 minutes matter to the pharmacist or the 9 year who has vomited for three days? Ps- we tried at day one and half meds and it looks like she was in the clear but after 12 hours it was clear that more medication was needed. I had the pleasure of being helped by Rosalinda. She was very attentive and extremely patient. I was picking up a prescription for my dad and didn't know it had to be refrigerated. I wasn't going home for a few hours. I told her I would need to come back. She was very generous and gave me an ice pack and explained how the prescription should be cared for. She was not in a rush to move to the next person, but took her time to make sure I was satisfied. read more

I switched from CVS to here because it was convenient because I came here to grocery shop. it was great for a while, but in the last 6 to 12 months, the customer experience has become extremely poor. I get a pain prescription for my chronic illnesses every 4 weeks. I got my prescription on 07/16/2018, so 4 weeks later would be 08/13/2018. My husband went to Safeway to fill my prescription, and a pharmacist named Hahn told him she would not fill my pain medication because the city of the script was out of Pleasanton. Confused, I went back to Safeway to have them fill my prescription. The pharmacist then told me she couldn't fill my prescription and I should go somewhere else. I told her I would wait a few days for my prescription, so I have her my script and left. On the 18th of August I received a call from a pharmacist name Monica Keswani informing me that they will not fill my pain medication and that I need to go somewhere else. I asked what the problem was this time, and she told me I have a history of filling up my prescriptions early. My doctor writes a date on my prescription every 4 weeks, so there is no possible way I can get my prescriptions early. This pharmacy has given me multiple excuses as to why they don't WANT to fill my pain medication, and have caused my body to go into shock and withdraw because they are discriminating against pain medication. They are not doctors, they don't know my chronic pain, and they legally can not deny my medication for their made up excuses. After days of body shock and withdraw, I picked up my script and went to Rite Aid. I showed the pharmacist at Rite Aid my calendar and history of pickups and he informed me that there is no reason to be denied. read more

The pharmacy is inapt. Pills that need to be cut could not be because they don't cary pill cutters. 2 prescriptions not processed.. another prescriptions was processed ready and then magically not there to be processed the next day because they are out of the medication. Then a new fun fact.. new system.. they had to request a fax. Then said they couldn't process it. The doctors office has a confirmation but they do not have a prescription! to add to all this fun is a clerk who talked back to me. Told me the longer she talks to me the longer my child's prescription will take. There are 6 of them behind the counter at the moment. Do they exact revenge on customers? Do they loose prescriptions on purpose to get rid of me?I am waiting to fill a prescription for my child.. its been 2 1/2 hours since it was sent in! I can not believe that there is a bad review on this place. Nothing but good experience. This is highly recommended. I actually moved from CVS to Safeway. Very hit or miss. This last time was a huge miss. Urgent care called in a prescription for an ear infection (my daughter could not wait long since she was in massive pain) and when I arrived--giving them ample time--it had not been processed. They told me a 40 minute wait. After 40 minutes, they told me another 20 minutes because their only pharmacist was AT LUNCH! What the what? They were inefficient and did not set expectations well. No sense of urgency (people are sick and can't wait!) and apathetic. They better be careful because the Silicon Valley types in this area will not tolerate such archaic service. read more

Unfortunately it was on a Sunday that I needed help so I was not able to call a doctor (extreme dizziness and nausea). Please save yourself some grief and take your business else where. This is the WORST pharmacy I have dealt with second to none. We live in the neighborhood and thought of using this Pharmacy due to its location convenience. After 4-5 years and # of incidents , we have now decided to take our business else where. The worst part of dealing with them is the arrogant attitudes some of the staff pharmacists and the ladies up front. To provide an example: I am headed to a 5 day trip out of town today. Called 24 hours in advance to refill my prescription that I must take. I stopped after work around 6 PM last night (they close at 8) to get my prescription which off coarse was not filled. I waited for an hour aimlessly walking the isles for prescription to be filled. After an hour, the lady informs me that they dont have any on hand (they never bothered to call me ahead of time so I can arrange alternate plan) and it will take couple days to fill the prescription. Upon pleading with them, the pharmacist gestures with a hand signal from behind the counter (without any eye contact or apology) for the lady to give me 3 pills. I asked for 5 to tie me over which they refused. I got agitated and told them that this is unacceptable and I will take my business else where. At this point, the lady smiles triumphantly and tells me "...In this case, we cant give you any pills". I left in an extremely agitated state with no medication and no where to go at that late hour ...I wish I could say this was the only time I have experienced such arrogance & dysfunction at this pharmacy but it is not. These guys are a disgrace to the field of Pharmacy and medicine. I would not give them any "stars" in the rating if I could avoid it. read more
