I don't know what you lot are on about…read more Ten days ago, my teenager had four wisdom teeth removed. He was in agony. I asked him to rate his pain 1-10 and he said 8-9. I insisted the Oral Surgeon give him a prescription painkiller. (They had already given a script for mouthwash, and penicillin and 800 mg Motrin.) I took the script and ran straight to CVS on 301/Mount Oak Road. They quoted me a three hour fill time for 20 Percocet! Seriously???? I demanded my script back I then checked Safeway, Giant, Target, and they all told me the same. I don't know if this is part of the "heal the opioid crisis," but as I told the pharmacist at CVS "I'm not going to let you cure the epidemic on my son's back....gimme my damn script back." I then remembered ComCare. Never used them before but my son's girlfriend is completing her pharmacy tech rotation and she had told us she works there. I called ComCare, and they had a .....TEN MINUTE FILL TIME! I am NOT KIDDING! Now. When I went in the pharmacist treated me kinda sketchy....I can imagine getting a call "How fast can you give me opioids?" Is a red flag question. However I explained the reason and also that all the other pharmacies quoted me three hours. I told them they needed to go to the Oral Surgeons in the area and have them send their business. Finally I got a smile out of the pharmacist LOL. Also to the person who spoke of "constantly revolving staff," DUH!!! Pharmacy Technician students have to complete internships to get their license. They intern at several pharmacies. That's why the "rotation." Initially I was just going to get the Percocet filled but they were so good, I said screw it and gave them all three. They got some new customers!

I then remembered passing this small drug store/pharmacy in Bowie Town Center. I looked them up online and called them first to make sure they carried the items, and to my surprise, they did! I went over right after work and found everything on the list. The customer service was excellent! While browsing, the pharmacist came from behind the counter just to ask if I needed any help. This store is perfect if you have elderly/disabled persons in your life because they carry very useful items such as: contraptions to put your socks on, put lotion on your back, wheelchair cushions, bed pans....and much, much more. It was a big help to find the medical supplies I needed here, because I didn't have time to order them. If you're ever in need of medical supplies for various illnesses, I would definitely check here before ordering anything. A true lifesaver!

The cold medicine I needed was one that you had to grab a card from the shelf and head to the pharmacy counter to purchase. Basically a controlled substance even though it is over-the-counter. With that card in hand I made my way to what I thought was a short line. Until I saw that it started back the aisle. I make my way to the end of the line and patiently wait my turn. As patiently as I can with my head feeling like it was in a vice grip. They kept allowing people that had walked up to the drop off area to just get in line ahead of all of us in line. Slowly I made my way to the counter and handed the card over. The staff asked me if they didn't have the exact one I handed over would I take the comparable one. Of course I would, I needed it for sure. Of course, the one I brought up, they did not have. The other was the brand name and cost more, but I was gladly going to purchase. Would be easier if you could bypass at least one portion of this. The line, the guessing which one is in stock, the wait.

Subject: Complaint - Prescription Pickup Delay and Unprofessional Service, Store #[fill in], 1910…read moreCrain Hwy, Bowie, MD 20716 On September 14, 2026, I went to this CVS to pick up a monthly prescription (nasal spray, ~$10 with insurance). What should have taken minutes took from 9:47 a.m. to nearly 11:50 a.m. Timeline: At the drive-through window, staff said no insurance was on file, despite my filling this same prescription monthly. I provided my insurance card; the associate had trouble entering it and told me to call my insurer. I called OptumRx at 10:08 a.m.; they confirmed my information was correct and active. I returned to the window. A second associate said my information "wasn't working." I offered to show her the info on my phone; she declined and told me to print it instead. I called OptumRx again. They called the store to confirm coverage. The associate questioned whether the representative was legitimate, demanded a supervisor confirm the call was actually from OptumRx, then hung up before the supervisor got on the line. OptumRx called me back to say the prescription was ready. When I asked them to confirm the insurance was properly on file, they called the store again and were again asked to get a supervisor on the line -- even though this was an insurance provider calling directly. The associate reportedly told OptumRx she was "suspicious" because I had come through the drive-through. At no point did anyone ask for my driver's license or ask me to come inside. When I finally returned to the window and asked why this had been so difficult, I was told, "We can see your phone from the window" -- information I was never given earlier, when I had explicitly offered to show it. Concern: This was a routine, verifiable monthly refill. The delay and repeated escalation were unnecessary , and the way I was treated -- including being called "suspicious" without cause -- was not customer-centric. I'd like to understand why this happened and what CVS will do to prevent it going forward.
