I had run out of some head cold medicine and knew that CVS would have some. I came in hopes of making it a quick stop and be back on my way. But all good intentions and all... The cold medicine I needed was one that you had to grab a card from the shelf and head to the pharmacy counter to purchase. Basically a controlled substance even though it is over-the-counter. With that card in hand I made my way to what I thought was a short line. Until I saw that it started back the aisle. I make my way to the end of the line and patiently wait my turn. As patiently as I can with my head feeling like it was in a vice grip. They kept allowing people that had walked up to the drop off area to just get in line ahead of all of us in line. Slowly I made my way to the counter and handed the card over. The staff asked me if they didn't have the exact one I handed over would I take the comparable one. Of course I would, I needed it for sure. Of course, the one I brought up, they did not have. The other was the brand name and cost more, but I was gladly going to purchase. Would be easier if you could bypass at least one portion of this. The line, the guessing which one is in stock, the wait. read more

They called with a question about a prescription but didn't identify themselves or leave a message and they didn't do anything about it today so now I will probably have to wait until Saturday to get my script. Recently had to fill a prescription for my dog. It is a seizure medication. It isn't cheap. I went to a couple of different locations and received a quotes that were $$$! Went to CVS and the pleasant pharmacist was able to find a coupon and reduced the amount and made it much more affordable. With a smile on her face and that extra step to help the customer. Very long lines for pharmacy pick-up. This issue has been raised with store manager, but nothing get done.

Went to pick up my prescription at 8:30 at night assuming I wouldn't encounter an ungodly long time. NOPE! This is the second time I've been here to pick up my allergy medication. First time I arrived at 1:15pm thinking I had plenty of time before their 1:30 lunch break but, oh no, walked into an equally ungodly line of ~10 people but 3 cashiers. For whatever reason everyone in front of me must have had much more complicated pickups than myself as I got up to the window at 1:29, the person walked away. No one else would help me. No one cut off the line. Nope. Just SOL come back after 2 since you've already been standing here for (oh right, they let me wait at the window too) 20 minutes. I already transferred all of my prescriptions after this to a different pharmacy. Madness. I thought the limited hours over at the Laurel-Bowie Rd. Bowie (not to be confused with the CVS at Laurel-Bowie Rd. Laurel) was a bit of a pain but holy cow. Idk if this pharmacy was better before they closed that location but I am done. Oh yeah and their drive-thru closes sometime before the pharmacy does. When? Who knows? read more

CVS pharmacy is getting worse by the week. They cancel prescriptions with no notice then make it impossible to speak with a staff member by phone My doctor changed a prescription dosage and I've tried several times to get the old dosage removed from auto refill. The app seems to have taken it but it keeps showing up. Unfortunately it seems to be impossible to actually talk to a person. In store customer service is poor and you always seem to need to use automated check out rather than a cashier. read more

My husband got a vaccine here. It was a nightmare. A 15 minute appointment took an 1 hour and 45 minutes. Their systems don't work. It takes 25 minutes to try to verify insurance. They ignore the online form so ask you questions answered there. The check-in system doesn't work. Finally, the pharmacy is old and dirty. Don't use this location. read more

Terrible customer service! Bought pictures from there and didn't receive all of them, but was charged for them. Had to inconveniently drive back, and SEARCH for an employee. It's really handy to have a drive thru pharmacy, but it can get backed up pretty good (AKA "not good") if you get the wrong person with their 8 prescriptions in front of you. Normally this wouldn't be a biggie, because you could just go inside. Unfortunately, this CVS often has a decent line inside as well. The pharmacists have always been courteous, they just have a lot of people getting their scripts filled here. Otherwise a normal CVS. Nothing fancy, nothing that stands out to me as lacking. It's fine.Oh, and you can get a good deal on Valentine's Day/Easter/Halloween candy and decorations the day after :) At least 50% off when I've been. read more

I walked into the pharmacy with an attitude right off the bat... I had the mind set that they were going to either overcharge me, need updated insurance information again although I have it to them last month and the month before! When the young lady called me up to the window to help me she asked, "How are you?" I responded by saying miserable but thanks for asking. Now what happened next blew my mind. She was empathetic and eager to TURN MY FROWN UPSIDE DOWN. I explained to her that over the last three month they've been messing up my medications and trying to charge me these astronomical prices. She was so understanding... Now although she didn't have to lend her ear to me, especially because I wasn't in the most pleasant disposition; she did! I wish I knew her name, I really do... She's the epitome of an awesome team member who is extremely caring and understanding. Anyway, I made a huge announcement in the store about how awesome she was and that she was an asset to CVS. Customer service is low priority for the pharmacy staff. As the first vehicle in the drive through today @ 9:00 a.m., I waited 14 minutes before the technician approached the window. She did not apologize for the extended wait, only stated, "Who are you picking up for?" The outside trash cans are overflowing with paper, cans, bottles and other trash. Please note that both situations are not first time but typical experiences at this location. read more

This has got to be a CVS corporate problem because the staff try but the location is grossly understaffed, depressed and never have I been able to get a prescription on time if at all. No one ever answers phone nor responds to voicemails. Only by going in person will you learn it will take days or that they will never fill the prescription. Very difficult to do for disabled and those ill or just out of surgery. This has been ongoing condition for many years but located in a desirable location. Worst pharmacy EVER! They do not answer their phones and take days to have your prescription ready. I change my pharmacist to Walgreens for this reason and boy what a difference of day and night. This one is closer to my home but I rather drive the extra miles for a better experience. I had to come to this place because my insurance did not cover my meds at Walgreens and boy do I hate this place more than ever. I've been on hold for more than 30 mins with no sign of anyone answering to check on the status. Horrible service, once again, not to be poor service. The employees arrogance is astonishing in the fact that apparently, if they don't do it correctly, it's not possible. This is just another time I have sat on hold for over 30 minutes just for them to pick up the phone and hang up, with patients one can eventually get through, only to be informed that it's not their fault (customer service at its finest)! Ive brought the issues up to corporate to no effect (influding the sitting in drive throughs for over an hour) Bottom line, tells your prescriber to send anywhere else. My neighborhood CVS is one of the few that I don't mind going too. It seems to always be in stock with items they place on sale in the weekly ad, shelves are always neat and the employees I encounter are really helpful and friendly. I had to find an over the counter item for an injury I had but couldn't find it on the shelves. One of the pharmacy technicians offered her assistance and ordered the item for me. She was supposed to call me the next day when it arrived, but somehow lost my number. Good thing I called back to check in the delivery. The pharmacy has a drive thru window, which I'm sure is a bonus when you feel horrible and don't feel like going inside to get your meds. Passport pictures can be taken here and like every other drug store around town, they have plenty of other items to purchase. I always seem to have a problem at the check out line. It never seems to have enough employees working the registers, which leads to long lines. All and all, it's a good location. read more

I have been to this CVS a hundred thousand times. I finally decided to Yelp about it after I went in on Father's Day and they still had Father's Day Cards in stock. Plenty of them. In English and Spanish. Wow. I have always loved how neat and clean this CVS has been on previous visits. And I love their extensive, ethnocentric sample aisle. So that, IMHO, compensates for a miss or two with the checkout department. I mean if a store is well stocked and neat and clean, we can't expect every employee to be on the cash registers all the time can we? I'm a fan! read more

I am absolutely tired of being treated like dirt in the name of Pandemic. I have been a CVS customer for more than 25 years but if the locations I have dealt with, were like this location, I would have had switched from CVS long time ago. I was driving a friend of mine, type II diabetic patient that due to a mix up by Kaiser, his immediate coverage showed cancelled in their system. I really needed to you use the restroom, due to pandemic their restrooms are closed to clients. We had instructions from Medicare for the pharmacy so his medications does not cost $400. Guess what , there were 4 workers in the pharmacy area. 3 of them were just hanging out and the only one working clearly announced that she is too busy to follow Medicare instructions. At the end since my friend always goes to this locations, she gave it to him and she said she does what Medicare wants later. They did not have the little thing that he inserts to his arm for monitoring his blood sugar. She sent us to another location and of course due to insurance mess up although they had it, they did not give it to him. It is almost 10 years that CVS stopped carrying all tobacco relayed products in the name of public health. So it is just so amazing because the pharmacist is too busy to do the administrative part of her job a diabetic patient goes 48 hours without any means to monitor his blood sugar. read more

Worst customer service. The pharmacist is rude. The workers Anna, Shenelle & Jordan are unprofessional. I watches them roll their eyes, ignore a customers simple request to call another pharmacy for help, & make jokes and laugh as the person was leaving. The one girl at the front even make a immature remark "Mhmm Okay Bye!" to the person as they were leaving. I will not ever return to any CVS Pharmacy & I am telling everyone to do the same, the service at all of these CVS Pharmacy chains are unacceptable. The staff at this CVS pharmacy (drug dept.) are very inefficient and unhelpful. I wont be using this pharmacy anymore. Kept telling me my prescription was not called/sent when in fact it was sitting in their que for 3 days!! they even refused to look for it when the Dr. Office called while I was in the store "stated that they check for orders every two hours and it was not time to check". Also went to pick up meds on a Friday that was ordered using refill line four days prior, only to be told that they were out of stock and i would have to wait untill Monday. Service was much better when pharmacist Sabrina Houston was there. Current staff are also rude and unprofessional. They did not even offer an apology for their mistake, nor offer to find out if another branch has the medication that was out of stock..I will take my business elsewhere from now on. read more

I went to the cvs store today, walked in an a woman was yelling "helloooooo". Very politely. There was no clerk. I did my shopping came to check out still no clerk. I walked all over the store. No one. The lady was trying the self check out as was a man. Both getting error messages. I went again to find clerk. Found one and he said to me " use the self check out". I told him there were issues. I let the man go ahead of me and the clerk literally left behind the counter walked over to self checkout did something and said to the 3 of us "see it works". We were appalled with his attitude. If one does not want to use the self check out a clerk should have good customer service and assist their customers!!!!! This is the 2nd time at this cvs in Bowie that I was TOLD to use self check out. Come on cvs don't forget your customers. I will not be going back and transferring my prescriptions to another pharmacy. read more

The guy at the pharmacy counter was super unfriendly. I asked him a question about why they could fill my 90-day prescription 4 months ago but now they couldn't even though it was the same exact script and same doctor. I even asked a friendly girl who rang me up if he was always grouchy like that. I tried to get his name but I couldn't see his tag; the only description I have is he looked in his 40s, black, and bald. If I go back there again, I will get his name so I can write a formal complaint. You could tell he doesn't enjoy his job. read more

Dear pharmacy Manager, I called your store on this snowy evening after leaving the hospital with my son, to fill 3 prescriptions. Unfortunately, my call was received by one of your rude staff members. While my child was sick and sleeping in the car, I pulled over to grab his prescription to see if I could drop it off at the drive through and pick it up later. While talking to Ms. Rude, I asked if she could confirm that the medication was there before driving out there for nothing. I was told impolitely that the medication could not be verified as being in the store nor could she confirm that they had the right amount. WTH? So waste my gas, my time, and risk my kid's health and mine in this snow storm because it would be too much work to provide a yes/no answer? Hmmm not sure about the care, value, and service (CVS) demonstrated on that call. Perhaps some retraining would do the job-ask Target down the road to do you the favor. They helped me in less than 1 minute. She just cost you some business. read more

Went to get a prescription for my Daughter around 12:00 PM and they said 30 minutes, did some shopping and came back 45 minutes later and it was not ready. I called around 6:00 PM and they informed me that it needed authorization which they did not event attempt to get it while the office was open and tomorrow is a Holiday so I guess my daughter gets to be in pain for two days. This is by far the worst CVS I have ever been to. The staff is apparently too incompetent or does not care enough to do their jobs. This is not the first bad experience but is definitely the last. read more

Gets pretty crowded at times and there will only be 1 person ringing up a long line of people. Depending on the time of day you may be able to find someone that will be able to answer a question accurately. The Pharmacy is nice and seems to be efficient. read more

This is my CVS and where i get my prescriptions filled. Although the pharmacist is really nice and willing to help the staff doesn't care to much about ur needs. They will tell me multiple times they are taking care of a prescription when I call and when I call back the other staff member has no idea what you are talking about. Poor communication. I guess they don't understand how important it is somebody has there medicine. Some do and some don't so it depends on who you get that day. The front of the store is understaffed as well although very courteous and nice. read more

This CVS is like Jekyl and Hyde and I place it all on whichever pharmacist and staff are on duty. One day you get caring people who call you by your last name and speak softly. The next time you get a gruff, loud, anti-social person challenging your every question or assertion. The pharmacist are like night and day as well. One seems to be bothered if you want to ask a question about medication expecting you to yell it out as she continues to fill someone elses meds. The other, kind, gentle, and approachable. Sometimes I just leave. It's not worth ruining my day. read more

Everyone at this CVS is wonderful except for IWIN in the pharmacy. She has a nasty attitude which would be fine except that she refuses to do her job. If she doesn't like you, she "looses" your script or tells you to come back over and over again. Today I spent almost an hour (in 2 visits) just trying to get 2 prescriptions and there was no line. The manager and the person in charge of the pharmacy were very nice and it ended up fine. I have been assured that this will not happen again. I video taped some of the interaction. I can't believe she has gotten away with this for this long. She is ruining it for the whole store, because other than her that store is great!!! If she is there again with anything but a wonderful attitude, I will never shop CVS again. read more

I have been using this pharmacy for several years, but I have to say that Wednesday night I was extremely disappointed. My daughter had not been feeling well (cough and running nose which we were treating with over the counter medicine). Wednesday evening she began to have a hard time with her breathing, so I took her to an urgent care facility. After a thorough examination, she was treated for Reactive Airway Disease (RAD). They gave her a nebulizer treatment and prescribed cough syrup and an albuterol inhaler. I went to CVS Highbridge as soon as we left the urgent care facility. It was about 9:25pm when we arrived. I am aware that they close at 10:00pm. The young lady that greeted me was very nice. I told her that we just left urgent care and what my daughter was being treated for and that she needed to get a couple of prescriptions filled. She said let me ask. The first young lady she went to did not even look at the prescriptions. This person just simply mumbled something underneath her breathe and her body language and facial expressions were horrible (nothing a customer should have seen). She then went to the gentleman (my guess is he was the pharmacist)and all I could understand him to say was...it will have to wait until the morning. NO, it cannot wait until morning, but how would you know because you never looked at the prescriptions. Again, I get that it was late, but my daughter was struggling with her breathing and no one even bothered to look at the prescriptions to see what she needed. There was no premixing required...no antibiotics needed...just a simple prepackaged inhaler sitting on the shelf and some cough syrup. You truly failed my daughter. Even though this pharmacy is about 1 mile from my house, we will be finding another pharmacy. These are the times that your true colors show. The customer service received that night was non-existent!!! After dropping my daughter off at home, I did find another pharmacy and the greeting I received was a full 180 degree turnaround. I was out the door with both prescriptions in about 20 minutes. read more
