I've been going to this pharmacy for a few years now and every time they get worse. From losing prescriptions to being combative with patients, it's a nightmare. They told me they didn't have my most important medication three separate times in the same month causing me to go through withdrawal for a week before I could get back on. Every time my doctors send over my scripts, all three of them at the same time, they seem to "lose" the most important and highest dose one...convenient...it's concerning & harmful. To add to it all, they're rude about the entire situation every time. They have zero empathy, are very curt, and act as if you're bothering them for asking them to do their JOB. read more

I see that most of the one star reviews are multiple years old. This pharmacy has never been a problem for us but I will admit that I didn't use that much until more recently. Certainly we had no issues getting our vaccines here over the last year or two, and the prescriptions we've been getting filled this year have been very smooth. They are honest about wait times and very reasonable for customer service. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE! Will kill you with kindness and you will leave wanting.... Wanting your prescription filled. "Come back in 20 minutes" make that an hr! God forbid you actually need antibiotics! We should have it by tomorrow yeah add a day to that... you've been warned. read more

This is my main pharmacy and has been for about 4 years. They usually get through lines quickly, if they even have any, and they tend to have two or more people working during busy times. I have had to call and ask for rxs to be refilled bc I have lost the bottle or something and they are always very good about that. I do use their automated service for automatic refills which is very handy considering I am hopelessly forgetful. I will continue to use this pharmacy until I leave Baltimore. read more

Intolerable rudeness. I'll admit some level of guilt in this entire scenario, as my prescription had run out and I should have addressed the issue sooner. However, that's no excuse for what happened today. I relocated to Baltimore almost 2 years ago; I have been taking a certain medication for a good 6 years at this point. At home (CVS) I had the scrip on auto-refill, and when it "ran out" the automatically contacted my prescribing doctor, who automatically refilled the scrip. When I noticed the other day that my scrip said 0 refills BUT also said "autorefill on" I (unwisely) assumed that it would work the same way. Safeway would contact the prescribing doctor (a local doctor now) and the doctor would refill the prescription. I arrived to pick up the refill only to receive completely dismissive and outright rude treatment. She lectured me on not waiting until the last minute, first off, which FINE but it's not your job to lecture me. Let me back up--I was completely polite, humble, and admitted over and over that i should not have waited and that I was sorry for any inconvenience. I asked her if they automatically contact the doctor or not -- she interrupted me several times, making it difficult to actually ask the question. Finally, she said no and that it would not be until tomorrow to get my scrip (note: it's 2pm... why can't they just call the Doc and ask? There's literally nobody else in line and three people behind the counter). It's not an rx I can actually, physically go without -- so I asked if it would be possible to get a few to tide me over until then and she said yes (it's a one-a-day, so technically all I needed was one). So I stood waiting. I heard her call someone, "Georgina!" at least 3-4 times while waiting. That's not my name, that's nowhere near my name. Then she leaned out and said "Miss" and I came over. She said "I called you like 10 times, I was like GEORGINA!" -- I said that my name is not Georgina, so I did not realize she was calling me. She glanced at my rx and said "Sorry, but I done called you a bunch of times!" I'm sorry, you didn't call me, you called someone named "Georgina" and there was another lady at the counter when you called, so I assumed she was Georgina. Then she began to lecture me AGAIN about not waiting until the last minute to fill my rx. I apologized and once again explained that I was just used to it being automatically refilled by the doctor, and I didn't realize they didn't do that. THEN she says, "I'm telling you, we did contact the doctor. And we just contacted them again." Now, earlier I was told NO they did NOT automatically contact the doctor. At this point, I realize she said that because she wasn't listening to or understanding what I was trying to say. So I said OK and wondered aloud why the doctor hadn't refilled it -- she pointed to me and said "That's why you have to call and not wait until the last minute." I'm sorry, but ... I didn't know. Maybe a phone call to say the doctor wasn't responding? Maybe...something from the doctor? In any case, I'll accept a level of guilt but seriously -- could you at least ATTEMPT to not be a dick about it? So I continued to apologize, re-explained my situation once more and -- as I walked away -- she said under her breath "well, that was California. you're not in California anymore." What was that for? What was the point of saying that, and how is that not completely unprofessional and rude? Once my scrip IS refilled, I will be switching pharmacies. This isn't the first time they've been rude and dismissive, but it's the last time I'm going to stand for it. read more

I really wish I could give this pharmacy a negative review. I've been going to this pharmacy for over 2 years now and have never received good treatment here. I can't believe I've put up with it this long, and I think I'm finally going to make the switch... Almost every time I go to the pharmacy, I say a nice, upbeat "hello" and the people back there don't even look up or acknowledge me at all. It's like they're just hoping I go away or something. Usually in an effort not to be rude back, I'll just wait for them to come around, but it's ridiculous how long it takes them to come wait on you. And they do it SO begrudgingly! There is one guy in particular who is always there (don't know his name), who always looks like his job is the absolute last thing he wants to be doing. In all honesty, he's just a complete a**hole, at least to me. Last time I was there, they charged me more than usual for my prescription, and when I asked about it they just said it must be my deductible resetting. I told them that that's impossible because I already hit it and it hasn't been a year since I've had that insurance. They wouldn't even try to fix the problem, and I ended up paying for it because I was in a hurry that day. The next time I went there, it was back to it's regular price which would NOT have happened if my deductible had actually reset. This is't the first time I suspect I was overcharged incorrectly, but the staff just don't care enough to fix it. I saw this same thing happening to an older gentleman who could not afford the price they were telling him. I really hope he didn't leave without his prescription because some lazy person couldn't call his doctor or insurance to figure out the problem. All the other reviews are spot on for this place. I have been to this pharmacy several times, and, without fail, the staff are unhelpful, dismissive, apathetic, and rude. They are short with customers and act annoyed when customers ask questions. The wait times are consistently very long (more than 45 minutes), regardless of the day of the week or the time of day. Today I finally decided that I would not return to this pharmacy, and I called another pharmacy to have my prescription transferred. When I arrived at the new pharmacy to pick up my prescription, the pharmacist told me that the staff at the Safeway pharmacy kept him on hold for 45 minutes when he called. I kept returning in hopes that service would be better at different times or with different staff, but it is clear that buying prescriptions from Safeway pharmacy is a waste of time and money. read more

Good pharmacy but, I wish the people were nicer and more upbeat. They get my prescription usually with no problem. So it's not bad but it could definitely be better than it currently is. read more
