This review is for the bakery only. The cake I got was ok, but not what I was hoping for. It must have been over baked as it came out very dry and crumbled as we cut it. Sadly I was hoping for a cake that was more moist and delicious. I'm thinking that with the money they charge they should spend more time ensuring the cake is not over cooked. I would suggest you ensure to let them know or go maybe to a different Baker. Just not pleased. read more

This is a nice safeway that's clean and has parking but this is what it's lacking: -certain items are not carried in this store -some items need to be replenished -some (not all) of the staff have major attitude (specifically, the youngsters and also to point out, young male bagger with his pants hanging down to his crack) It's definitely more modern , cleaner and up to date than some of it's other stores. Oh , and there is no Starbucks! read more

I go to this Safeway exclusively. My normal shopping is TJ's and sprouts but sometimes I just want some big brand items or a delicious sandwich, or it's hella late and this is my go to. I have an ever changing schedule at work but regardless of when I get off I almost exclusively deal with the evening shift and they are super friendly and even though it takes me slightly longer to go here coming from work, this Safeway has some of the shorter lines compared to the ones closer and the staff is amazing. Nathan specifically always has the best attitude even when some of the other patrons are less than kind. If you shop at Safeway, go to this one. read more

This Safeway in Fairmont Shopping Center on Hickey finally opened @ 6am on wed, 9/14/16. Everything is brand spankin' new. We were among the first ones to check this place out....everything from produce, deli, bakery & meats were all freshly set up!!! After the long absence of Lucky's & its closure from this area, it's finally nice to have a brand new Safeway & it's closer to our home...I don't have to drive down Manor Plaza to get my groceries. read more

This Safeway is constantly understaffed. An average weekday feels like the apocalypse with all the people waiting in line. Case in point, here was a Tuesday night during a regular week. Corporate headquarters, please pay attention. read more

By far the worst customer service I've witnessed in years and it was at this deli. An elderly white lady that helped us got so easily agitated when my mother couldn't find the coupon she was referring to. Then gave me attitude when I couldn't find it. Look, I understand you have to deal with customers day-in and day-out who can't seem to understand what you're trying to communicate with them, I've worked in retail for years to be misunderstood. But if you don't have the patience to just ELABORATE on what you're explaining then please don't work. She seemed so fine being an angel to the other customer then she proceeded to being rude to me, she didn't even understand what I asked for. Yet I had the patience to elaborate to her. She could use a lesson from her own customers! I audibly said thanks for the help to her and she cant even say anything back, she couldn't even bother to look me in the eyes and nod. Makes me sick. Don't waste your time with this Safeway especially the deli. I'm never coming back to the deli here. read more

I look like Chris Farly? That is the level of customer service you will get at this store! I was totally insulted by his comment. I so badly wanted to rip this cashiers A** apart for his comment but this store has a hard enough time checking out their customers as it is and did not want to hold up anyone! It is so sad that a person can not go shopping without being insulted and or rude comments by cashiers and staff! I will not be coming back to this store. Truly sad! It's a new store with old morans who ruin the day with un called for comments. read more

I know this Safeway is terribly understaff. But that is no excuse for the cashiers to be rude when they have to bag. Most of the time we will start bagging to speed up the process, but then the cashier will start pushing the groceries towards us as if to say hurry up! Then they'll move on to the next customer, so I'm rushing to get my groceries out of way before it gets mixed up. And they NEVER say thank you for bagging. I suggest Safeway start a program "if you bag, we'll give you 15% off your total!" There is only ONE cashier who has great customer service skills. Her name is, Araceli. She gets 5 stars! read more

I love love love this Safeway. It's super clean, the shelves are stocked and organized and the staff is courteous and helpful. The produce dept. rocks. The deli and bakery could use some improvements and they do need more cashiers at busy times. All in all this store is by far nicer than any of the Safeways in the City. read more

Do Not !!! Go to this Safeway for chicken they do not give you what you want to give you what they want to give you I asked for Fordyce the man told me no I can't give it to you like that read more

Slow service, no self checkout, no 15 or less items cashiers ever! Overcharged for bags when you say no bags.

Great remodeled store! Everything looks new & clean. Customer service is "ok", but why are the aisles so darn narrow?! (Just like the other Safeway off Manor & Palmetto) We love shopping at Safeway, but these stores in Pacifica are always crowded, and with narrow aisles it makes for a very awkward and slow shopping experience. We now actually avoid shopping here, and drive further to shop at the Safeway on Gellert, in SSF. read more

Do you love no self check out and long lines that go almost out the door? Do you love only two Safeway checkers working from 4pm till close? Then this is the Safeway for you, seeing the pictures of other reviews looks like the hardly anyone working and long lines have been a problem for over a year so nothing will change. Also almost forgot to mention the countless times the guy behind the seafood counter will break his neck to not look at you until I'm screaming "excuse me". I'm pretty sure he does everything in his power to not do work. The food quality is okay but I'm giving it one star because by the time I got to check out and back to my car my milk had expired. Would come here again if I want to drop my cart full of groceries and walk out out of anger. read more

Longest lines ever so annoying l. Why can't they hire more checkers. Stop being cheap hire more staff.

Yeah this Safeway sucks ass too. Closed when it says it is supposed to be open. Third Safeway I drove to that is supposed to be open yet are closed. I spend thousands at your shitty fucking store. I will try to spend my money at places that give a fuck. Thanks. read more

Love the fact that this location is open super early in the morning! We managed to get our hands on fresh donuts

One of the worst ones I've been too. Always short staffed Long lines The bakery sucks!!!!! I ordered two cakes 1/2 sheet barbie theme 8 inch round cake Baker straight up told me she has no experience I paid 70 bucks for two cakes that looked like my 4 year old made them. Ugly as hell I'll never order from them again read more

Tried to purchase something at the deli yesterday. Lady at the counter was rude and acted like she was too busy to ring me up. She even rolled her eyes at me. I'll be going to Safeway on Gellert instead. read more

I wish I can give this review ZERO STARS. This review is for the deli part of Safeway. The sandwich makers are seriously lacking in making sandwiches. I was in there (Friday, June 7th, 2019, around 3:45 PM) to pick up a sandwich for dinner. The gentleman who made my sandwich lacked in "cleanliness". He had a dirty apron, for one. I wish I could have asked for another sandwich maker but he was the only one coming towards the sandwich counter. He used the same gloves he was wearing when he was doing God knows what before coming to the counter. He didn't bother to wash his hands and put NEW gloves on. NO BUENO!!! When I asked for pepperoncinis, he put his DIRTY glove into the container instead of using a pair of tongs. Hello, cross contamination! YUCK! When I got home I doctored up my sandwich more and stuck it in the microwave for 3 minutes on high to kill whatever germs that may be lingering on my sandwich. Please DO NOT have him make sandwiches EVER again. He was a tall Caucasian gentleman. read more

They don't even carry greeting cards. Was also disappointed to see they weren't carrying the large cans of pumpkin since I'm planning on making pumkin pie for a large group of people. The "customers can do without" mentality of this new Safeway stinks. Lame, lame, lame. read more

Great new store and was excited to see it open. First few times I went there things were great. Well that honeymoon is over. Wow I have never seen a greater number of employees that just don't care. If you have a half a day to shop then this is the place. read more

Just visited this new store for the very first time. Nothing special about it, just a typical Safeway. On the floor you can see the scars where the linoleum tile was when it was Lucky. The store was nice and clean and the checker I had was nice. On the refrigerators where they keep yogurts and cheeses for example, they should put doors on them. I don't know what Safeway's excuse is for not using doors even in their other stores, but it will help cut energy costs and the store wouldn't be so cold, especially for Pacifica. The dairy refrigerator has doors though which is nice. It's not a very big store but it has most of the common selections. read more

Oh. My. God. It's like they are actually *trying* to get people to shop elsewhere. I have tried shopping here a few times, and EVERY TIME, no matter what hour of the day, the lines are just ridiculous. I have literally ended up just putting my items back because I don't have 30 minutes to wait to check out. I am not kidding - 30 minutes! In the express lane! Not cool when you're on your lunch break. I thought at first maybe they were just trying to find their stride. But this seems to be their strategy for some reason. read more

This store is in a very good location.nice clean yet if you plan on shopping there be prepared to stand in a long line for a long time and the deli and bakery staff are rude and inexprience they will leave you waiting to be served while they are talking and bs ing there are 3 employees there that are on top of it very pleasant personialtys and go out their way to help and applause ize for their co workers when you visit that safeway i hope you have the pleasure of meeting one of them they are nathan or nolan or lucinda 3 of the best workers ive ever met read more

3/22. Josue and the woman bagging were very friendly and positive even at the end of the night.

I received a e-gift card which was something you offer through Safeway that a family member sent me. I tried using this e-gift card via the app and was told by multiple employees it must be printed and cannot be added to a physical gift card I have used this printed copy twice and had no issues, however tonight when trying to use this payment method someone by the name of Ricky wearing normal clothes who I could not identify as anyone of status or employment tells me I am not able to use this due to fraud issues in the past. So I cannot add this to a physical card cannot use the app or the printed copy soooo I can't use this gift card at all according To Ricky. This makes no sense and should not be offered as a payment option if there is issues that need to be brought to the store manager apparently. I don't think Ricky knows what he is talking about or who he even is but I am very annoyed and disappointed in this transaction. I feel Discriminated against because Ricky made it seem like I was pursuing fraudulent activities and I do not appreciate this kind of treatment. Someone needs to tell him how to do his job or inform all employment this is not a payment option and not offer this payment option at all. This is ridiculous. read more

Smaller than the Safeway on Callen/Gellert in South SF.. New and clean. cashiers had been nice so far. This store is usually busy since a lot of people live around here. Parking is easy. read more

The review is for the Catering Dept. I ordered a Fruit Platter on a Friday for a school party the following Tuesday. When I went to pick it up, I was told the staff that was supposed to make the platter was not in and my platter was not made. How can this happened? Don't you have other staff in the Catering Dept.? How can other people trust your store if your store is so unorganized. I did ask for a refund, but that ruin my trust with them. Never do any catering with this store again. read more

My weekly Wednesday a.m. shopping excursion to this store is ALWAYS an adventure. Every week I am guaranteed to find expired items on the shelves. If something is on sale - check the "price good thru" date. Sometimes I forget & am charged full price at the checkout. That's when the fun starts. I have to believe that they make getting a refund so difficult because they want you to give up and just walk away from it. Standing in the express checkout (the only one open) with my 25 items is always a good feeling. I try to let people waiting with just a few items go ahead of me but sooner or later you have to get out of the store. A few pleasant, helpful staff. But on the whole - woefully understaffed. Is it really necessary for the vendors (Orowheat, in particular) to stock their sections at 10 a.m on a weekday? Like the aisles aren't narrow enough already. I'll be back next Wednesday because they might just get it right this time ...or they could pull off something so stupid it will force me to write another review. Have fun. read more

Why are there always really long lines? I live across the street and I dread coming here because there are NEVER ENOUGH OPEN REGISTERS. Also, please get self check out like all the better Safeway's have. read more

This is my favorite Safeway in this area. It is clean, well maintained, and even with lines, the wait isn't super long to get checked out. The cashiers I've dealt with have been efficient, accurate and pleasant. Parking is easy too. Even though we drive a bit further, it's worth the pleasant grocery shopping experience. read more

This could be honestly one of the cleanest and fastest Safeway that I have been to, the only reason was that I knocked down two starts is because of the customer services that I received tonight. I understand that you maybe tired, I am too having to go grocery shopping after work with a 2 year old that doesn't want to stay in the cart, but they are paying you to be the face of the company or am I wrong. The lady at the counter that had no one behind me was just out of it I guess. She rolled her eyes and completely ignored me. I told her I wanted the milk and juice in a plastic bag, since I get one free for having WIC, and the rest in the bag that i brought. She just stared at me and rolled her eyes! Honestly? I believe her name is Bessie or Betty. I said Have a nice night and she ignored me and continued with the next customer. Next time I'll just leave Bessie alone, if she's doesn't want to help customers that I don't know what you are doing there. read more

Very bad customer service in the deli specially in the morning slow staff , you feel like they don't know what their job is. Poor customer service read more

I loved the store at first, everything was brand new and fresh. The reason I now rate it as a 1 is because they have no customer service skills AT ALL!! It doesn't matter what time you go into the store there is ALWAYS a line. At 6:50 a.m. on Monday there was 1 cashier, everyone else was stocking. I asked for a manager who finally showed up and started checking. Today at 4:00 p.m. the line was out the door. Two weeks ago SAME THING!!!! What is going on? Someone from the Corporate Office needs to come to the store and find out why they can't run the store as smoothly as it should. No one seems happy in the store. read more

I'm disgusted whit how I was treated in the floral dept, , I was trying to purchase an item that was priced $9.99'. However the price scanned at $29.99, well that's not what my price said, I was checked out and the bagger went over to the floral dept, checked price said it's $29.99. However the tag on there was changed to $29.99. The lady in floral long hair to her shoulder with a lot of grey, I've been there numerous times and this lady is a pig, but she couldn't look me in the eye and apologize, the item was priced wrong, but she could have at least apologized to me, I'm disappointed with this new Safeway. Floral dept sucks read more

This store is always understaffed during peak hours. The customer service desk is never staffed. I had a rude employee named Maggie who seemed like she didn't want to wait on me yesterday morning I only had to redeem a lottery ticket and she didn't count my money back to me or said thank you. I will rather shop elsewhere then come back here to this store. read more
